To Poffe and Galac...
What do you think we could do to improve the teams? Where are the weak areas? Etc...? :)
EDIT/
Cool, thanks Figo.

well i think you both have cbs much below par....
figo:
Silvestre is class choice but hes not as great as he use to be..but this could just be form, and dellas...well...hes not doing things well for Roma is he?
Hp:
Carragher is anotehr strong choice...same situation with Silvestre.
Cris....probably the best performing cb out of both teams..i just dont rate him very highly...
your winegrs HP i dont think can provide the quality balls ur forwards need. especially with robinho.
Figo: your heart of midifeld lack experiance but has the potent attack of your wingers and the class striker partnership...thats probably why i picked you ahead of HP.

Well, I appreciate your opinions.
Though I think Petrov and Jesus Navas are both wonderful wingers. IMHO.
PS- What do you think about Eto'o and Robinho up top?
I'll like to know your opinions on a few things too.
Bouma at left-back
Sneijder on the right wing
Rosicky as central midfielder
And Makaay-Shevchenko

- Haven't seen much of him this season, but I know he's good. :)
- Can't really comment.
- I think you'd need a defensive player to sit next to him as he's more attack minded. From your bench, I can see you playing with Ronaldo, Lampard, Pirlo and Robben as your midfield, right? Maybe Rosicky sitting infront of Pirlo and Lampard, just an idea. James will catch wind of this match and throw his opinion in, 99% sure. :D
- Good stuff, I like it more than Baros - Sheva/Makaay.
PS- Thanks Figo, for the PM. :)

well....
Bouma at left-back: playing in his old position...should do well, sturdy backfour as effectively you have 3 cbs
Sneijder (wesley?): big fan of him....great player , two footed and brilliant dead ball specialist. hes more than comfortable playing on the right hand side of midfield.
Rosicky: He can play in a nedved-esque position in centre of midfield..supporting the strikers.
Makaay+Shevchenko:
this probably the most potent strikeforce right nwo....with 7 goals in between them from midweek they're both in dazzling form
The formations that both teams came out with are equally balanced. I agree though that at this day, Figo has a better midfield. Sneijder will always be able to support Makaay, and Wesley can aslo go through as an attcking midfielder and can make a dead ball situtation perfect. Shevchenko Makaay are one of the best strike partnership. Dellas and Silvestre aren't too bad as your towers, but Silvestre hasnt been too good the way he was before, a bit shaky there. Dellas is at AEK btw. Ferreira is perfect for your RB position. Tiago will be felt in the midfield as he knows how to tackle very well, and can score a goal from out of nowhere. Rosicky can play very well as the midfielder or even holding midfielder so no problems there. He definitely will give good support for Shevchenko. And Andrei alone, is world class, and can beat almost every keeper, unfortunately Palop i feel will have a hard time against him. I also think your formation is perfect the way it is.
For Hp
You also have a good partnership with Robinho and Eto'o, i think they are the best for your team. Eto'o is also the type of striker who will assist when he cant finish. Petrov is on top form and shall give Figo's defense a difficult time, but im sure sooner or later Bouma will get the use of it. Dont get me wrong though, i think Petrov could beat Bouma too. Xavi is always a good player to have and he will be able to hold the midfield and thread long passes to your strikers. But with the attacking duo of Rosicky and Tiago, Xavi may be looking to defend more than to attack. Im not too sure about De la Pena though along with Jesus Navas. Sneijder could get through him imo. You do have an experienced left back in Maldini, so he will definitely be solid at the back. Carragher and Cris are solid too, along with Cicinho. But i feel Shevchenko and Makaay can break them down. Hp, i prefer you make a formation of 4-5-1. Take away la Pena, bring in Abidal. Abidal shall be your defensive rock. Xavi and Robinho slightly ahead threading through passes to Eto'o as i feel Eto'o is also excellent as a lone striker. Pertov and Navas as your wingers.
---------------Toldo---------------
--------Carragher-----Cris---------
Cicinho----------------------Maldini
-------------Abidal--------------
Petrov----------------------Navas
-------Xavi----------------------
-----------------Robinho---------
---------Eto'o-------------------
I think Figo will take this. But its real close. ;)

Just wondering Eugene...What will your actual first team be? I mean you have Makaay and Shevchenko for up front and you can't really drop either of them. And keeping a back four is probably necessary, so that'd mean one of Rosicky, Lampard, Ronaldo, Pirlo and Robben wouldn't play.

Robben and Ronaldo will be wing fowards, and Helguera and Lampard are first choices in midfield, so out of Pirlo and Rosicky I'll most likely go for Pirlo.
I'll be playing 4-3-3 most of the time, with eother Shevchenko or Makaay up there.
No such things as fixed formations though, since they'll be changing every week, so every player will get his fair share of action ;)

Thanks Nikos, I was wondering what people would think of the midfield. As that's where I've got quite a few options. :)
I may go back to this....
...Demichelis......Tacchinardi
................Xavi
.....Robinho.....Ronaldinho
...............Eto'o
Something like that. :)

HP would win, as he has a stronger defence, it may struggle up against Shevchenko, Rosicky and Maakay, but I think it could cope better than Figo's. Robinho, Eto'o, Petrov and Navas' pace would cause problems for Figo's quite slow backline. It needs Ferdinand in there to add some pace. Xavi and de la Pena would win the midfield battle as Rosicky doesn't like to get his foot stuck in too much, and i'm not a big fan of Tiago, he's not bad, but De la Pena and Xavi (in particular) are better.
Bouma at left-back - he is in terrible form for Aston Villa, and has been playing in that position quite a lot. I prefer him as a centre back.
Sneijder on the right wing - He should do ok, and his passing and crossing ability should provide HP with problems, but I think he's best position is either on the left side or through the centre.
Rosicky as central midfielder - He'd be better in the formation you used last year taking the place of Lampard, but he's a great playmaker so would do well there, but would give the defence more work to do.
And Makaay-Shevchenko - 2 great strikers, although as a partnership it might work too well, probably better off using just 1 in a 4-3-3 formation.

Great teams, I think I'll go for HP though, the pace in his attack is frightening. Its very close though and it would be totally different game had you both fielded your strongest teams.
I'll like to know your opinions on a few things too.
Bouma at left-back
Sneijder on the right wing
Rosicky as central midfielder
And Makaay-Shevchenko
- Bouma, I think he is a lot better at centre back really but he can do the job there but I'd prefer a natural left back there really, should be a back-up player really for a squad of your quality
- I think he does the job well anywhere in midfield, great asset
- Same as above really but hes a lot more attacking so I'd push him on and Tiago sitting back
- Quality, you can't drop these two, great strikeforce and are on good form with Sheva scoring 4 against Fenerbache recently

What did I say.
James came.
Figo for me........better defense and midfield......

You're the only to say what I've been expecting to hear :D
Main purpose of this friendly was to test this partnership as well as the central midfield one.
Thanks a lot for all the comments and opinions guys, and the answers to my questions, they've helped HP and me greatly.
