We may be looking for new managers at any stage, so for anyone who is interested, declare your interest in this thread.

Managers need to be active, and post or at least come online as regularly as possible.

Posting sensibly in Fantasy League threads and voting in matches will make you more likely to get a team to manage.

I am intrested and i vote occasionaly, voted a couple of hours ago...
And will it be possible to change the name ??

Scarface
10-12-2005, 19:42
Team names can always be changed. That team has just been taken i'm afraid, but other teams could become available at any point.

Any news on who is to be the new manager? The most likely runners seem to be Rafa, Poffeman and Cali Clown? Decent enough if you ask me. They are all active members.

Decent enough? I'm dont agree at all with your definition of decent.

And besides, high activity means nothing.

Yossi

The Rafalution wouldn't be a bad choice I reckon.

Rafa does look like a good choice to me.

-Rafa-
10-01-2006, 00:10
so what's happening with this?

is it when a team free's up?

nikos24
10-01-2006, 07:27
A team is free already right? Kallum doesnt want to manage no more, i personally will go for Rafa to replace him. Rafa, you seem great, and particularly excellent for a manager job bro, ;)

-Rafa-
10-01-2006, 09:55
thanks mate, so if i am chosen would i take over kallum's team?

11-01-2006, 23:32

If you do and i hope you will, then you will take over Kallum's team.

Mat, dont you think LeonS is a bit inactive lately?

Hansel
12-01-2006, 11:26
Nah he's just busy, anyone mind telling us who gets the team ?

Preki-USA
12-01-2006, 14:18
can we settle this then... and i wouldn't mind setting a starting date for the league

im talking to you here james

Yossi
12-01-2006, 19:11
LeonS is as unactive as Kallum. Rafalution is active enough, and probably the best candidate for the job.

Scarface
12-01-2006, 19:14

I can't make those decisions by myself. The League will probably start during the first weekend of February, but neither that or the choice of new manager has been decided yet.

Keyser Soze
12-01-2006, 21:25
Poffeman is more sensible than Rafa, atleast he tries to be. LeonS is on about every other day which is good enough for me, as Muad said:
"Better a somewhat active yet sensible manager than an active foolish one"

EDIT: I'll shut up now, nothing I, or anyone apart from James or Victor say can change who they appoint.

True, but they need to be online enough to vote in the matches each week and make sure they update their team line-up, at the very least.

Your opinion does matter, you're not being ignored.

Oh sweet, point taken.

But isn't LeonS active enough for that? Or Yussef Eli?

Scarface

Yeah, they probably both are, i'm not disputing that, just want any potential managers to know what's expected of them. Soliloquay is another candidate.

Preki-USA
12-01-2006, 22:20
Sol should have never quite in the first place, id love him back

and we need to set a date for the start of the league and a date for when rosters need to conform to league rules

people are losing intrest this break has gone on long enough imo

Yossi
12-01-2006, 22:21
Not really active enough though nowadays.

-Rafa-
12-01-2006, 22:33
well i wouldn't mind to know who the manager is going to be

i'm intersted in this i've been looking at it recently and it looked really good.

Hansel
12-01-2006, 22:56

Oh, my bad. You can still do both. I go out every day with my mates and that. When I get the time on my own or at home when I'm on MSN or something, I have a quick look on Insight and see how the FL is doing. I'm sure(well I hope) the majority of members on here have a social life but still post fairly reguarly.

Hansel

Yeah exactly, but I'm also busy with A.C.E so I think the best option would be Rafa,he really wants it anyone can tell, and he's really active and posts and votes in the FL threads so I think he should get the team.

James, I know who I think should take the team. I'll discuss it with you on MSN ASAP.

Scarface
21-01-2006, 16:14
Well, Victor, as we haven't been able to discuss this in the past week, it's probably best for me to post this here.

Rafalution looks like the right guy for the job, he's showed by far the most eagerness out of anyone and has previous FL experience from WEManiacs. What do you think? You can pm me or contact me on msn if you don't want to discuss it here, it's just we need this sorted by tonight as time is ticking away and the new manager should get a week to get his team in order.

Highway Penguin

Yes, Rafa can have the team.

-Rafa-
22-01-2006, 01:54
cheers dudes, i'll create a new thread for my team.

also i just copy the team list in Kallum's team thread?

martin_cranie
22-01-2006, 01:58
Yeah just copy and paste it Rafa. Make sure you have a read through Kallum's team thread so you're up together with everything, chances are he'll have some loans either in or out etc...

Also check the Bank Balances thread for Kallum's last post, that way you'll know how much you have to spend.

Scarface
22-01-2006, 02:02

Say, I could take Dundon's team, I was so stupid I droped out of it on WEManIacs..

mateuszmarczuk & arsenalboy: your chances of managing a team will be greatly increased if you vote and post in some matches and take an interest in the League. We've had people before come in here and say they want a team and then never be seen again, so we have to know you have a serious interest in it first.

There's only 1 team vacant at the moment, but we've had several managerial changes in the past few months, so if you stick around for a while and vote and post in matches, you'd have a decent chance of managing a team sooner or later.

Keyser Soze
05-03-2006, 21:16
I think Rasheed Sharq deserves the team, personally. He knows his football and has been voting in every game since the start of the season more or less.

Highway Penguin
05-03-2006, 21:28
Ok, now the people interested are:
mateuszmarczuk
arsenalboy

Rasheed Sharq
Cali Clown

Sorry if I forgot anyone, please post if so. I'll speak to james and then announce who will get RoP.

05-03-2006, 21:29
Rasheed should get it, otherwise Magpie. Just throwing in my opinion

Yossi
05-03-2006, 21:30
Yeah, Rasheed and Magpie are definitely the front runners, the only two who should be considered in all honesty.

Highway Penguin

Rasheed's geographical location is a plus imo opinion b/c he'll have a different view than the rest of us and perhaps introduce us to some more quality players

magpie has been a bit inconsistent around the boards lately, i realize he's had some personal problems with getting robbed and all but my vote is for sheed

sheed also write some amazing game reviews

Rangers_Fureva
05-03-2006, 21:49
Rasheed Sharq should get it. He seems to have a vast amount of football knowledge, plus his opinions on who would win in certain matches are very good.

nikos24
05-03-2006, 21:55

Rasheed Sharq or Magpie, i think magpie need to get voting a bit more, but Rasheed Sharq has voted in all the games pretty much

P.S I'm going to do my voting today :)

Scarface
05-03-2006, 23:10
I can only recall Rasheed starting to vote since last week's League games, can't remember him voting since the start of the season, although i'm pretty sure he voted on several occasions last season. Without question, he's a very good poster, has excellent football knowledge and would make a very good manager if he has the time for it.

I agree with marczuk, though, he deserves to be given a chance, but to be honest with you mate, we need a manager for a team maybe as early as tomorrow as RoP have been without a manager for too long, so Rasheed has to be the favourite at the moment. If you don't get the current managers position, we hope you stick around as you've contributed some good stuff already, so would definitely be considered when there's another vacancy, which could become available at anytime.

Magpie would be a good appointment for the RoP team. But as Ive havent knwon Rasheed untill recently, his posts are also good and talks sense, so either one of those two lads would be good candidates.

I agree with the general response; Rasheed Sharq is certainly the fore-runner. Not only are his votes a regular sight, but they are of a very good quality, taking far more into account than the acknowledgement of the bigger names. He would be a good addition to the FL.

Scarface

Not at the moment, but I don't quite know what's been going on with David P, I think I heard for the first week of the season he was on tour, but I can't recall him returning ever since, with the exception of a post in one of his cup matches. If he's not going to return in the very near future, it might be best that we bring in a caretaker manager until he returns, and then if they impress as manager, will be first in line for when there's a job going.

But yeah, you were already on the waiting list for when the next management position becomes available.

nikos24
14-04-2006, 14:39
mateuszmarczuk & arsenalboy: your chances of managing a team will be greatly increased if you vote and post in some matches and take an interest in the League.

The same I believe would be applied to you football4life. ;)

DragonFly: No teams available yet, but there is a possiblity soon that there will be a vacant team, although we still have to wait for some time. No confirmations yet, but post anyway and post well, and when a team does become vacant, you and F4L have a chance, or atleast on the waiting list. ;)

I believe all 3 members could do a good job in the FL. As has been said previously, regularly posting and voting in matches will increase your chances of taking over a team.

Pretty much like Sheed's (Rasheed), he once did nothing but post sensible during the games and he had around 100 posts during that time, and yet he still got a team and many wanted him as first choice too, you could follow the same path. ;) Or maybe take my team.

To make this fairer, I think we could adopt a system where good division 2 managers can apply for a position in a vacant D1 team. I have no problem with new guys like Dragonfly and Pauly Scholes taking over a D1 team, but think it's a bit unfair that guys like Sheed had to take over a mid-table D2 side after weeks of good voting, and then a great team becomes available a few weeks later, which he could have ended up managing if he'd not have taken the other role, and the same goes for the other great FL members which are stuck in the mid-table of D2.

They might prefer to stick with the team they have, and try to build upon what they've got, but I feel it'd be good to let them have the option of taking over a better club. If D2 managers prove their worth to the League, I think they deserve the chance to manage a club in D1 with better players. The new managers would then takeover the side which they leave. What do others think of this?

I reckon that's a good, fair way of doing things. It's just like in real life, where you wouldn't exactly see a manager just walk into a Premiership team, instead they would have to go to a lower league team and prove their worth etc.

But I know what my budget is, so why do I need a chairman? He'll just be an annoying bugger who tells me I can afford it, but I 'would be better off getting a defender than a midfielder' and all that gumpf. No way would I go along with that, and I don't think I would be alone.

Well, the main reason I came up withe idea of a chairman was so that it would be up to him to chose who the manager is. So if the current manager is doing shit, he can chose to sack him, and hire someone else.

I think this could make things more interesting.

But when a manager comes in, it can often be on short notice, and with no transfer opportunity, so it's not really the managers fault if the team is doing badly. For instance, if your idea was currently in place, Rafa may easily have been sacked by now, yet he has done everything he, and for that matter anyone, could've done to make his team successful. It's the fact that he hasn't had the opportunity to freshen up his squad that has held him back, not his inability to manage.

Not a bad idea that. I have to say though that I wouldn't swap teams with anyone, not even James, so you're ahead of me already Muad. ;)

Maybe if a top D2 man moves up then a lower D2 man could move to the better, vacant D2 team? That way a newbie won't steal a nicer team than someone else has got. I'm not sure if this is a good idea, but I thought i'd suggest it anyway.

You wil need to start voting in games when they are posted. There is a few friendlies posted now, so maybe you can go flex your voting muscle.

There are no teams available at present, but your name will be shortlisted for further notice if you keep voting in games, givng reasons for your votes would be appreciated too.

Dont worry Charlie, I was involved in the Fantasy League here about 3 years ago and am involved in them elsewhere, I know how to play the game and know most of the members in this one also. :)
