u host the first half and the opponent hosts the second half (depends on who creats the game), thats why..
even when i play people on green, lag still happens in the second half but i think what you said may be right
so is it better to host a game or challenge other people?

It is irrelevant, since you both get to host one half each. You won't get much lag if both players have good enough connection (generally 1mb does the trick).

its because most folk use routers, and even tho there not doing anything on the pc while their on evo, your computer is still sending and recieving information... helps if people useing routers turn their pc's off
i play with it online through a router without lag 90% of the time a jus turn off hogging stuf like msn...

One quick question:
Could one half lag more for one person that it does for another? I've been playing online for a while and generally it hasn't lagged much but when it does it can be bad.
I've always thought that even if it lags a lot on the other person's host for me, it would be the same for them as well.
But, i was playing just now and the first half lagged so bad i couldn't get out of my half (the one he was hosting) and then it was my turn to host and the guy was playing just as he had done before, so i knew it couldn't have been lagging for him.
Afterwards, i asked him and he said no it didn't lag, as i had thought. I was just thinking how unfair that is for people with good connections. I might as well just put my comp and internet on to ensure it lags equally for me and my opponent, instead of him getting two decent halves and me having to settle for one :(
