Will there be any squad rotation required for this? If there is, will it interfere with the amount of league games a player can play?

Can anyone have a team in this? If so how do you join and how does it work?

Yossi

No vacancies at the moment. There is a thread knocking about where you put your name down for a team.

It's in the main section of the forum. Easy to find. ;)

-Yossi, I'll talk to Colt and Reyes to see what they think about squad rotation. Good question, I should've thought about it. :)

Thanks Yossi.

I'm all for squad rotation in the seperate cups, e.g D1 & D2 but what about the WCLC ? It could mean a weaker D2 side might come up against a D1 side that could still be pretty strong. Just enquiring;)

Usul

Squad rotation should count for the entire season. Cups and regular league games combined.

Yossi
01-01-2006, 20:56
I see your point, and I would agree, but for one problem. We've agreed that every player must play a minimum amount of games (was it 6?) and the teams who progress well in the cups would have more games so it would be different (probably an advantage) for them.

Highway Penguin

I've finised the Division Cups and the draws are in the first post, James will be posting the WCL draws in a bit.

Congrats to all. :)

I wrote down a load of names on paper then put them under a sheet and drew. So yes, it was random. :)

They'll meet eachother anyway in the next stage, now you'll have the strongest D1 teams facing the strongest D2 teams in the next round.

Scarface
09-02-2006, 14:04
This season it was a random draw where anyone could meet anyone in the groups to make it more interesting and open. You'll see that Group A has only 1 D1 team, 2 in Group B, 3 in C, 4 in D.

HP's an honest guy, hes not cheating.

martin_cranie
09-02-2006, 15:58
I think it's fine. No matter who we were to draw, it would always have been a tough game, so we may aswell draw some big guns. HP is honest so I don't see the need to worry.

Oh and Asgard Utd officially launch their bid to host the Division 2 cup final. A lucrative game at the Dragao will suit us nicely :)

I knew it was random and I never said he cheated, just replying to you that it was clearly a random draw, just thought maybe it would have been better to make the draw more like those in international tournaments.

Yossi
17-02-2006, 00:23

Nope.

Victor, are you able to post a complete set of fixtures now?

Highway Penguin

I'll have them done in the next hour or so, as I'm doing homework right now.

Yossi
17-02-2006, 16:54
I feel it would be beneficial to have a 'Cup Formation Thread' in the Match Area as to avoid confusion.

martin_cranie
17-02-2006, 16:58
Probably a good idea Yossi. However I think that the most beneficial thing to do would be to draw up a proper timetable, specifying dates for matches. I'm happy to do this, all I need is a rough idea from HP and Reyes9 as to when they want this season finished.

Scarface
17-02-2006, 18:25
No, the formations in the formations thread are for the League games this weekend. The Cup games will take place on Tuesday, i'll create a new sticky thread for posting the formations for the Cup games.

Highway Penguin
17-02-2006, 22:31
We'll be having WCL and Division Cup games midweek. I haven't calculated out how many games there will be for the cups, but I'm guessing we'll have the games each week, rotating Division Cups and WCL games.

Try and get your formations for the WCL matches in by Sunday. That way you've got no worries.

Good luck.

You've got to be taking the piss. I'm doing it exactly the same way as last year, and showed you the schedule I took the time to make months ago, so don't try to pretend i'm the disorganised one. Using the same schedule? What of facing the same team twice in a group stage? We decided I was in charge of the WCL and you were in charge of the D1 and 2 cup. I made the whole schedule for the WCL group stage matches before the first fixture had even started, while the D1 and 2 Cups are still waiting for one. The lack of appreciation here is ridiculous.

Highway Penguin
25-03-2006, 18:10
I don't see how that's taking a piss, you made a decision without asking me what I thought or if it were all right. I think you are reading into it a bit too much.

I don't recall the incharge business, but I do remember talking about who would post which games. But that doesn't even happen, as you've got a fire under your butt.

As I said, it doesn't matter because you've all ready posted the matches.

Do you actually listen to anything or read? I have told you plenty of times now about the schedule and you were fine with it. I've got a fire under my butt? Thanks, i'll take that as a compliment, i'd rather get jobs done than not post 4 sets of cup fixtures in 2 or 3 months. Maybe I should have left it for you to waste your time posting games that have already been played.

You've had an attitude problem for a while now, who cares which one of us posts the games aslong as they are posted? It's been mentioned a couple of times that you've been busy and can't find much time lately, so how me saving you time is such a big concern to you is somewhat odd.

It obviously does matter, or you wouldn't mention it.

You mean before you left after game 6 or 7 for months, and I was left to pick things up for almost the whole remainder of the season? You're extremely ungrateful, child. If you'd like to do more in the Fantasy League, be my guest, i'd enjoy the extra help. You make me laugh, if anyone should be complaining, it's me. You're rarely on msn to talk to, and aren't as active as you used to be, so I have to get on with most of the Fantasy League myself and dedicate more time to it. I've never complained once about this, and nor would I, but then you have the nerve to come on and complain about me, when all I did was save you time because you're supposedly busy? Obviously not busy enough to stop you making a fuss over fuck all. You must have an inferiority complex, because I have never pretended or acted as if i'm superior to anyone.

For the hundredth time, I told you about the schedule, and I run through every single decision with you, name one case where I haven't?

Highway Penguin
27-03-2006, 23:01
Jesus, it's not just about the schedule. I looked over it and in general it was fine, I didn't go through each week and make sure it was ok, I haven't got that time. Who does? Unless they spend all their time surfing the net.

We talked about doing games, but you don't give me any time. Last week before the Cup games I said I'd post them, but when I got on you'd posted them all ready. I still don't understand your reasoning. You've also always had them up when I get online. The time difference makes it difficult, etc.

I don't feel inferior to you as this is an internet forum, it'd be ridiculous to. What about the whole setup prior to that? The hardest part of the whole league is getting the squads picked. Anyone can post 10 games each weekend, but to keep everything together before that is a bitch.

It takes 10-15 minutes to run through the schedule. You have the time to continuously bitch and moan about bullshit, so i'm sure you would have had the time to go through a schedule.

If you check, you might see that you actually posted last weeks Cup games, not me. That was the only time you've ever discussed who should post the games. It's like children squabbling over who gets to sit in the front seat of a car. I don't moan when you post the games, as it's really irrelevant, you don't earn brownie points by doing so. Aslong as the matches are posted at suitable times, and preferrably when the site is active to attract as many votes as possible, I really couldn't care less who does them.

Anyone can post 10 games each weekend? I very much doubt that, and there certainly weren't many offering last season. Posting the games is hardly the sole concern in organising the Fantasy League, there are many other factors involved, you (should) know that.

To Preki & Rasheed: I apologize for continuing this, it should have been brought up in private, but when someone goes on a public outcry and whinges and bitches about me for no good reason, i'm not going to let it slide without having my say.

Highway Penguin
28-03-2006, 21:35
Whatever, now you have reduced this to name calling.

-What is harder than the pre-season? This is in reference to last season as that's what you've got into. This season there are many other factors, but last season it was basic stuff. It's nice that you stepped up when no one else would, but I'm saying that you missed out on the hardest part, the regular season is very straight forward.

-Continuelsy bitch and moan, cause that's why I get online, so I can moan at you about random things. Whatever I feel like that day, right?

-Sorry, 2 weeks ago or whenever Barca played their last CL game.

Once again, you were the one you brought up last season, not me, with this reference, regarding discussing decisions.

This is the way I did things when Colt and I ran it and it was fine.

I suppose the Free agents opening early which created chaos and resulted in a top manager leaving was discussed, as it was so fine and dandy back then?

The start of last season was hardly mind boggling stuff, all that was needed was to wait for people to pick their team, and to go through all the basic rules, nothing overly challenging. The end of last season/start to this season was more complicated with lots of new rules being implemented and managerial changes. What this has to do with anything I have no idea.

I think Victor is right. These are supposed to be the first legs of the semifinals, according to the schedule.

martin_cranie
06-05-2006, 17:21
The schedule says that the first games after the window are the WCL fixture 5. The next Division Cup games are labelled Week 5, not Semi-Final. The only reason there should be a Division Cup Week 5 (and maybe Week 6) is for the teams that have only played 2 or 3 games to finish off. Unless we're playing return games, which so far no one has confirmed, then I can only suggest that there's a problem as several teams have already played 4 games and yet are being scheduled to play more.

We have a small problem with WCL Group B. Hunter and Preki were meant to play each other this round but haven't. The G vs. Phat was labelled as Group B by accident, when it is infact Group D.

I guess that the up coming Division Cup games should include the final WCL game amongst them.

Yes, their formations were not up to date from what I saw, so I didn't post the game. I guess a couple other teams didn't have their squads completely up to date, but I didn't know until after the fact.

Their game will be played next week, :).
