The 24 Coca Cola Championship teams have replaced all 20 French sides as well as 4 German clubs (1.FC Koln, Arminia Bielefeld, Borussia M’gladbach & MSV Duisburg).

Future plans for the option file include the addition of the major French clubs (Lyon, Lille etc) as well as an all-star Championship team. (Most probably replacing PESFan United)

This option file has been based on v1 of the PESFAN option file. There has since been an update version released (v2) correcting all the errors present in v1. I believe I have corrected most of the errors from v1, though if you spot any mistakes or anything that needs updating, please report them in this thread.

* PSP version: contains everything apart from the changing the underlying kits. This is a PSP issue not the fault of the file. This means that the championship teams kits will be wrong but have all the right badges and players.

Note: This is an option file, not a patch. If you are playing a patched version of the game then it is likely that this option file will not be compatible.

People downloading the PC version are likely to find that player boots are incorrect, meaning manual editing will be required in order to correct this. This applies whether you are playing a patched version (ie. with real boots) of the game or not.

How to transfer the OF onto you Memory Card/Hard Drive:

Using Xbox Max Drive...
1. Download and unzip the file
2. Make an archive (zip file) of the folder called UDATA
3. Drag this newly created zip file onto your maxdrive using the software.
4. Connect your maxdrive into one of your Xbox controller ports and load up PES5.
5. On the PES5 menu screen, go to Options > PES Data Control > Copy Saved Data. Then select the ‘Change’ option, and select the Datel Max Drive from the list.
6. Select the PES5 Option file present on the max drive, and then choose a slot on your hard drive to save the option file.
7. Once you have saved the file to your xbox hard drive/memory card, return to the main game menu and let play begin!

Using PS2 Max Drive...
1. Download and unzip the file
2. Select and drag the .max file onto the max drive software.

Using PS2 X-Port...
1. Download and unzip the file
2. Import the .xps file into your X-Port database using the X-Port software
3. Select and choose the 'Restore' option to transfer the option file onto your memory card.

Using PSP...
Simply drag file onto PSP save file.

Using PC...
1. Download and unzip the file
2. Copy the file entitled KONAMI-WIN32PES5OPT and paste it into the folder My Documents > KONAMI > Pro Evolution Soccer 5 > Save > Folder 1

As highlighted in bold, the save folder above is located in My Documents and NOT the Konami folder in Program Files.

The file MUST be entitled KONAMI-WIN32PES5OPT for it to work, so do not change the name of the file.

Note: If you already have an existing option file on your memory card or hard drive, you will be asked if you want to overwrite it. If your current file is one you might want to go back to then you will want to back the file up first, before transferring this Option File.

To unzip a file you will need to download WinRar (http://www.download.com/WinRAR/3000-2250_4-10446177.html?tag=lst-0-1) or Winzip (http://www.download.com/WinZip/3000-2250_4-10454671.html?tag=lst-0-1) if you haven't got one of these already.

If you follow these instructions, you should have no problems.

The Xbox version is working fine. The championship teams look great, but if someone could work out how to add the datamark international and regional team kits that would be great. I have slightly changed Derby's team as a couple of the players are either not there or haven't played since the first game of the season (added Nyatanga in place of Konjic, changed Whittingham to Barnes etc).
A great optionfile that seems to work fine with the xmas patch on my xbox.

Have you unzipped the file? If so, what problems are you having exactly?

You just need to use the evaluation version of WinZip. Alternatively, you can download WinRar to unzip the file. But really if you already have WinZip there is no need.

Once you have unzipped the file I can't invisige you having any problems.

Those of you saying that the Xbox version doesn't work...please outline exactly what problems you are having. Then I or someone else may be able to help. Note that smc999 has already explained how to get the option file onto your max drive on the first page of this thread.

This optionfile works and the championship teams look fantastic. Thanks for the time and effort Paul B and the others that helped out with this. I have used the x-mas patch with this optionfile and its simple to change any kits or boots that don't look quite right.

For boots, just go to edit and set all to default (the X-mas patch uses the Datamark boot pack, which looks lovely!)

The next one is a little time comsuming, but gives the best results for the kits. Select edit team, go to the kit options turn the logos, flags etc to off on the kits and then set each 1st and 2nd kit to default. This gives you the kits from whatever patch you are using. DON'T do this to the championship teams!! This way will give you the best possible kits and all the Championship teams.
I nearly forgot! Make sure that after you have made the changes go into the save data section of the edit menu and save your optionfile (when prompted to overwrite, overwrite the original file). Otherwise the changes that you have made will not be saved once you reboot.

Hehe, very valid point about the defence - though Naylor and De Vos are our two 'rocks' (or closest to) in the defence. Naylor is a consistent performer and De Vos is in a rich vein of form at the moment after having an under-par start to the season. But I think I will down-tone them slightly for v2.

Also something I've noticed on Town's ability diagram on the team selection screen is that it is shockingly pointed towards pace....which is something we simply DO NOT have when the youngsters aren't in the side. :tongue:

Don't make it out as if the option file has a problem when you don't have basic knowledge on how to do basic stuff like unzip files. Anyone seeing all your spam in the last 2 pages would think there's something wrong with the file itself when it's noobs doing the wrong thing.

And if people have a problem, explain your situation clearly and you'll get help quicker.

This looks so cool....I am desparate to get it working!

However, I am struggling. I have a modded Xbox (to allow me to use it as a media extender). I don't have Max Drive (What is it some kinda big memory card? What is the point on the Xbox when you have a HDD?). What I am doing is downloading and unzipping then FTPing the directory and everything below UDATA across. When I start up PES5 (Original PAL version) it says the option file is damaged or corrupt. I have redownloaded it with the same result. When I FTP my old option file back it works fine.

I think the closest you can get is to do a World Super League. It allows 20 clubs from any league to be selected to compete in a league. This will allow you to choose any of the 4 Championship teams on the second page (Southampton, Stoke, Watford or Wolves) but at the expense of four others in the main league.

And yes, all premiership kits & badges are present and correct, as in v1 of the PESFan OF.

er, did you read Paul's last post? Yes the kits are correct and they've spent a long time on players so I'd assume the data is very good too (although some will always complain about wristbands and eyelash colours).

The same method does not apply to the PS2 MAXDRIVE file...as that can just be unzipped and then all you need to do is drag the .max file onto your maxdrive.

You can lock the shop items if you want my loading up the OF in the PESFan Editor, clicking on the PES / Shop tab and selecting Lock. Then obviously save the file and transfer it to your memory card.

There is nothing wrong with the file itself otherwise it would not be working for others. Have you unzipped the file and followed the instructions already posted numerous times already?

It will ask you if you want to overwrite the existing file, which you should select yes.

This particular Konami folder is most probably located in 'My Documents', and not the one in C:/ > Program Files

But not Paul B's? PAul B's save seems to just be a zip file in format they are stored on the Xbox not .MAX files or anything, so I assume it has something to do with compatibility with my version of the game?

LUFC: I appreciate that. The reason I mentioned patching (I agree slightly confusingly) was, surely to be able to patch a game you need to have a modded Xbox. So if people have modded Xbox's (and the ability to link their Xbox and their PC via a network connection), they surely have no need for a Max drive. Have any of them overcome the problem I'm having FTPing an Option File (not patching - my game isn't patched....its vanila original PES5).

OK.....I'll explain in a little more detail. XBoxs normally save to the HDD (they come with a 8gb HDD by default). Memory cards are rare because the HDD is ample - their only real purpose is so you can take saves round your mates house).

I don't have a memory card or a max drive. My PES option file is on my HDD. The point I'm making is when I unzip Paul B's option files and FTP it over the files with the same name on my HDD and start the game it says they are corrupt (where as the other option files on the thread I refer to earlier on this thread which seems to be explicitly for modded xboxes works fine).

So what I can't work out is whether Paul B's isn't working because there is an inherent difference between Memory Card saves and HDD saves on the Xbox? Or whether something else is stopping it working. Since my team is destined for another few seasons in the Coca Cola (unless we buy Hulse!) I am desparate to get this working.

Can anyone help? You guys seem to be well up on option files so surely someone can help out.....I guarantee I'm not making some noobie error here!

Even if there is a way with a bulk editor to cut and paste Paul B's changes into an option file that does work? I'll try anything now.

beejaydadeejay, I replied to the email you sent me but I got a Delivery Status Message of delay soon after so I don't know if you've received it yet.

Anyway, that email has nothing of help but I've since thought of a possible reason. Now, you appear not to know a lot about max drives but after transferring the option file onto the xbox maxdrive...it doesn't allow direct transfer to the xbox hard drive. For each file stored on the max drive there are usually 2 options: 'Copy' & 'Delete'. With the PES5 option file, the only option that appears is 'Delete'. So, the only way of getting the option file onto your xbox hard drive is to load up PES5, go to Options, PES Data, Copy Saved Data...go to 'Change' (changes from searching the hard drive for a file to the max drive), select the PES5 OF that is present on the max drive, and then you can save it onto your hard drive and therefore be able to use it. Now, a lot of the above might not make sense to you - but the point is that PES5 option files seemingly need to be transferred a different way to other game saves. So I don't know if you can use FTP whilst PES5 is loaded...I don't know enough about FTP...

When you say it works for you with other files, do you mean other PES5 option files or other games? Because most games can be 'copied' onto the hard drive directly using the max drive. If you have managed to put other PES5 OF's onto your hard drive using FTP, then I really don't know what the solution is - that's just the only thing I can think of.

All I can say is using a max drive is the only sure-fire way of getting it to work.

Paul, thanks for the reply. I don't think I've made myself entirely clear. Lets get some basic facts about my problem:

I don't have a Max Drive. My xbox is modded so I I don't need one. I can (usually!) just copy option files to my Hard Drive from my PC over a network cable (FTP) or by burning a CD-RW.

I have managed to get a PES5 option file to download and work successfully. It is the one in this thread:

I can't work out what the difference between the two are? If you try to download the one that works for me does it work for you?

So now I'm kinda guessing that max drive or PES5 changes Option File to say it is a memory card/max drive save and when it is copied straight to HDD the games gets upset?

So if someone has a modded Xbox and Max Drive, they could copy the file with Max Drive, load it them FTP the file off and email it to me to try!

Other than that I'm running out of ideas.

What about going down the editing line? Are there any decent PC Editors that I could patch cut and paste? Or could I try a different conversion tool to the one you are using?

OK.....I Know I shouldn't reply to my own post but I think I know why it doesn't work!

I found this statement on the web:

"Micro$oft in their infinite wisdom decided that when the xbox was released they would sign all of their saved games with a digital signature to prevent you from tampering with the save games in any way."

I assume the game I have got this working has had the digital signiture sorted. And I'm guessing that Max Drive software also takes care of this for you too. So I guess what I need to do is findout how to do this myself.

Looking at the thread title of that thread, it suggests you could be right about the digital signature.

So what you are saying is you have tried zipping up the folder entitled 4b4e0030 and still no joy?

If so, I'm afraid I don't know what the solution is but I will try that particular file out myself tomorrow using the max drive to see what happens.

Hopefully there's someone out there that can give you a definitive answer though.

Not sure it is the digital signiture.....most solution to that seem to be patches to game exe files to allow them to load anything. But I don't want to modify as I want to play on line.

I have since tried your option file on in PESFAN Editor and it comes up fine.....howver PESFAN Editor won't open any of the option files that run on my game!!!!

I might but a MAX Drive....if it doesn't work then I will take my game and the Max drive to my friend and try it on his un modded XBox!!!

Just looked that up and you're right, the current file uploaded is infact a version with all PES Shop items LOCKED.

However, you can download the UNLOCKED Xbox version here (http://files.filefront.com/Paul_Bs_Championship_OF_XBOXMA XDRIVE___U/;4574535;;/fileinfo.html).

You will also find that edited boots are present on the file, rather than the default boots that are on the locked version.

if you set the first of the Puma Kings to all black with no white at all and then set the blue and white and black ones to the black and white pumas it sets all players too all black boots who dont have a specific boot setting!

Ok, I have been receiving many PMs/emails as to what to do with the option file when the same questions have already been answered in this thread.

So, I have put all the info together into the first post. Read it - and you should have no problems.

How to transfer the OF onto you Memory Card/Hard Drive:

Using Xbox Max Drive...
1. Download and unzip the file
2. Make an archive (zip file) of the folder called UDATA
3. Drag this newly created zip file onto your maxdrive using the software.
4. Connect your maxdrive into one of your Xbox controller ports and load up PES5.
5. On the PES5 menu screen, go to Options > PES Data Control > Copy Saved Data. Then select the ‘Change’ option, and select the Datel Max Drive from the list.
6. Select the PES5 Option file present on the max drive, and then choose a slot on your hard drive to save the option file.
7. Once you have saved the file to your xbox hard drive/memory card, return to the main game menu and let play begin!

Using PS2 Max Drive...
1. Download and unzip the file
2. Select and drag the .max file onto the max drive software.

Using PS2 X-Port...
1. Download and unzip the file
2. Import the .xps file into your X-Port database using the X-Port software
3. Select and choose the 'Restore' option to transfer the option file onto your memory card.

Using PC...
1. Download and unzip the file
2. Copy the file entitled KONAMI-WIN32PES5OPT and paste it into the folder KONAMI > Pro Evolution Soccer 5 > Save > Folder 1

As highlighted in bold, the save folder above is located in My Documents and NOT the Konami folder in Program Files.

The file MUST be entitled KONAMI-WIN32PES5OPT for it to work, so do not change the name of the file.

Note: If you already have an existing option file on your memory card or hard drive, you will be asked if you want to overwrite it. If your current file is one you might want to go back to then you will want to back the file up first, before transferring this Option File.

To unzip a file you will need to download WinRar (http://www.download.com/WinRAR/3000-2250_4-10446177.html?tag=lst-0-1) or Winzip (http://www.download.com/WinZip/3000-2250_4-10454671.html?tag=lst-0-1) if you haven't got one of these already.

If you follow these instructions, you should have no problems.

- the v1 file has Westlake as right footed, Peters as left footed and Richards as 'preferred side' right all of which I think are wrong (though not sure about Peters)
- Haynes should maybe be a SMF rather than CMF

- Elsewhere, Cardiff's Jerome age is wrong

Barron has since been added to the file and will therefore be in v2, he's only really come on the scene since the turn of the year which is why I didn't include him previously. Removing McEveley is something I meant to do prior to release and I may include Nash...depending on whether his loan deal at Hartlepool is extended past the end of this month.

Thanks for pointing out the mistakes on Richards, Westlake and Clarke - I hadn't noticed them. Though I don't think Clarke's height and weight had appeared on the club site at the time of doing it...either that or I just forgot it needed looking up.

On Peters, I was under the impression he was left footed but he is infact not, and you have a point about his stats. There was a lot of hype about him and Royle's left him out of the first team for quite some time now. People are wondering what has happened to him but he's not even performing well in the Reserves, so a recall to the first team is looking unlikely unless there's a huge injury crisis.

Worth noting that I have made a lot of changes to near enough all players in the Town squad since release, so expect things to be a lot more accurate next time around.

I don't actually know what Haynes' natural position is...just that its somewhere in midfield. Hadn't seen anything of him before this season and he's been playing in an attacking forward role whenever he's been in the first team. Its clear to see that he has pace, which suggests he may be suited to a side midfield role, yes.

I have increased Juan's free kick accuracy to 79. Although his free kick at the weekend was of the highest quality, I feel he needs to be dispatching those into the net on a regular basis for it to be any higher.

Finally, Jerome's age is something I had noticed and have now corrected.

It is impossible to get every player's boot on the game so if I suggest you make you own changes if you're not happy with it. Everybody is going to have a different preference.

The Championship option file already contains all of the Premiership kits made very well so you don't have to worry. In any case you can't pick and choose kits from one file or another. You can only use one option file per memory card.

Always keep a backup of your own file (on your pc) before transferring another file - just in case you are not happy with the file you have downloaded.

I finally got to playing with this option file today (due to me tripping over some wires and breaking stuff and scratching discs) and I must say you've done a temendous job Paul, and of course everyone else that helped. There are a few minor attributes of players that are wrong such as age, foot, side etc. but I'm sure you'll have realised this yourself and will have fixed them soon.

I've obviously been playing as Ipswich and the feel of the players is pretty much spot on for almost all of them. I would have offered my services in creating this file but I'm sure you had Ipswich covered and I always exagerrate players attributes that I like.

First off great file was really impressed. However think some of the QPR stats might need a little beefing.

One other thing, i noticed in the editing of this game you can put badges on the back of the Shirts. QPR have a sellotape advertisment on the back and was wondering if it was possible to add it?

I have played around with a few of the likenesses for QPR e.g giving Cook gloves. Milanase also a bandana. Ive also changed the Formation and starting 11. Baidoo's stats have been beefed slightly as he is our number one striker but in the file underated heavily.

The prem and international kits are fine

The problem is with the championship teams, they have all the right player names badges . The problem is that it doesnt change the actual underlying kits. This means the QPR kit has all the badges but its yellow not Blue & white. The kits stay as they were ie french ones but with the badges added.

The prem and international ones are ok as the kits are already correct its only when its completly different that a problem arises.

Its still good though as all the players are there and the prem and international kits look good.

Hi Paul.

I have being using the PC version of the championship file and just have to say it is class. When playing the game it is just like watching a chimpionship match. If you get what I mean? Playing as Arsenal and the likes in the prem it is fast and one touch stuff and super long range shots and looks the b*****ks. In the chimpionship you can get some real dog fights and not always Henry style of play. It could be me just thinking that but that is how it feels. Top file and thanks a lot for doing it. And to all those that helped.

As for having the sellotape sponsor on the back of the shirt...the problem is you can only put one logo (32x32) on it. It would need to be made over 2 logos slotted together to for it to be a lifesize logo. e.g. The Plymouth sponsor on the front of the shirt has been pieced together over 2 logos.

As its so small, I didn't think it would be worth it. You could of course add text in its place...but it doesn't look too great as you can imagine. There's also the problem of running out of spaces to put new logos...existing logos for other teams have to be overwritten in order for another one to go in its place. But you can my all means add that logo to the game yourself manually.

Finally, thanks for posting the PSP version up - I'll add it to the first post.

bez54: Good to hear. One of the games I remember best was playing as Derby against Coventry (CPU). I was 2-0 up with 88 minutes on the clock and the game ended 2-2. You're never safe! :D

Player wise we have had Marcin Kus and Matt Taylor come in. Going out are Marcus Bean - sold to Blackpool, Adam Miller-Stevenage Borough. Ukah is leaving as is Sturridge.

Its still worth having as all the prem and national teams are fine and its still fun playing with your teams players

What editing software do you use? I have PESOFEDITOR v 0.33. I cant find anyway to add images. Never had a problem on the PES 4 Version. Maybe the one i downloaded is faulty or everyone uses other sortware.

I think he's able to play anywhere in the attacking third but I'd have him down as a striker or a supporting striker. I think the fact that despite being a little small he can still win headers and that'll mean Royle will play him more central than out on the wing, not sure if his crossing and one-on-ones are good enough for a winger.

So the answer to your question, I would say as a CF/SS as well as WF.

I think you had Supple down as right footed too, pretty sure he's left footed.

I think Parkin is a bit better than what you've got him down as too but as we haven't seen the best of him maybe it would be best to wait until he's back playing again.

All you have to do to run this version is remove the current option file off your PSP and transfer in this new one. Drag and drop the whole file onto your psp save game file, when it asks if you would like to replace say yes (though you may want to copy your original for safe keeping).

You can find the solution to this in the Max Drive Help thread. Just flick the little switch on the Max Drive.

Thanks for the reply - but this doesn't solve the problem of the kits/badges, does it? Great for the Premiership/International teams but I'm after the Championship kits as they appear on the PS2. Can I edit the kits on the PSP backup game myself?

This option file is really wicked now its just for me to update all the transfers and adjust some of the stats on the game. Some championship players have been made way below standard but it really doesnt matter in comparison to the great work done here.

At the Copy Save Data screen on PES? If so, I can only suggest deleting the file off you maxdrive, go through the process again and try again...incase the file corrupted itself.

Yes it will (Lyon, Marseille, PSG, Auxerre, Lille & Monaco), to be released later in the month.

I have no idea about the XBox 360, so hopefully someone else will be able to advise.

Unfortunatly it isnt possible, you can only transfer the other way. Sorry mate you will need a max drive or mate who has one to get it on your PS2. They are only 9.99 so well worth it.

A Championship Select team won't be present, not in v2 at least...

v2 will have:

- All reported errors from v1 now fixed & suggested improvements made
- Full Championship update + updated squads outside the CCC
- 6 French Ligue 1 Teams added (Auxerre, Lille, Monaco, Lyon, PSG & Marseille)
- Updated appearances
- New International Kits Added
- New boots: Adidas Predator Absolutes

Basically a lot more attention has been paid to areas outside the Championship.

Now, in future (not for v2) I intend to replace the 'Other Leagues B' teams: Sao Paulo, PES United and CSKA Moscow (which isn't actually even CSKA Moscow)

One possibility I was thinking would be to replace them with Championship Select, Hearts & Hibernian. Though intially I was thinking of replacing those SPL teams over a couple of the Other Leagues A teams...so that they could be in the same section as Rangers & Celtic.

Any suggestions on that front?

Like you say, I would imagine a lot of people (especially the people downloading a CCC OF in the first place) would not use a lot of the teams in Other Leagues A…so there is a lot of potential for new teams. But the problem is in terms of League 1, I don't have sufficient knowledge or time to create teams like that from scratch again. I know we're only perhaps talking a couple of teams here but I get the feeling that if one or two are added people are going to say…’If you’ve put in Team A then why haven’t you put in team B. ‘Team C are better than team B’

I would like to think that there is someone out there that is planning to or indeed carrying out the huge task of creating League 1. I would certainly love to play as those teams…

Something that does put a limit on the number of teams though is the number of available logo slots. I was only just able to afford to overwrite a couple of existing logos for teams that were no longer in use to make way for the Lille and Marseille sponsors, for the soon-to-be-released v2. This is one of the reasons why I would like to replace Sao Paulo, a team that I personally never use…and cheekily takes up 2 logo slots ;) But in the case of Hearts & Hibs, Hibs sponsor is already in the game as it’s the same as Leeds’.

I’m thinking, certainly at the moment anyway (due to not having as much time as I once did)…any additional teams that will be added will be taken from other people’s option files (with their permission of course!). I mean I’ve seen a couple of SPL files about for example.

No player in the Championship should have a shot accuracy of over 90…so yes, definitely an error there.

Please point out anything you see thats wrong, or in your opinion...that way these things can be corrected. As with anything, the creator is likely not to see all mistakes...so it needs its beta testers to report back ;)

Maybe this was on the master league after a few seasons, once someof the players stats have improved. I know playing with Ipswich in the ML some players can get to almost world class asfter a few seasons.

Im sad and have changed the icon for your save. It now has your badge instead of the xport icon (on memory card).

The logo will spin and is 3d. Not mega important just looks good when viewing the saves on your memory card.

Does the xbox max drive file work in Action Replay? I have Action Replay and am not sure the xbox file will work with AR. Is there a way to change it into an AR file? I have the PESFan Editor if that helps. Sorry, fairly new to all the editing stuff, but I really think guys do a great job with all the option files. Thanks for any help.
