Does anyone have a good mod-chip to recommend? I feel swamped by all the different types of chip on the market at the moment! Here is my list of things I want to be able to do:
1. Play all PS2 games, region free (PAL, NTSC)
2. Play all PS1 games, regiom free (PAL, NTSC)
3. Play my patched PS2 backup (I only have one and that's
WE6:fe!)
4. Play DVD, region free (1,2,3,4,5,6,)
5. Play my DVD backups
I was offered a chip called 'DMS3' and told that it is the mutts nuts. Is this so? I have also heard of Titan and Messiah but I heard that with the Titan chip the Playstation 2 logo that comes up when you switch on your console is scrambled! It doesn't really matter I suppose, but I like my logo!
Anyway, what do you guys think?
If this counts as warez Hitman, then just delete this thread and I won't mention this again.
I would like to know if anyone has experiences with the Magic 3.1 Chip. Does it work with Winning Eleven F.E.?
The big 3 would be the messiah, magic and the apple. I think magic are somewhere around version 3.6, but yes Felse the magic 3.1 will boot WE6FE no problem. I'm not too sure on the magic but the Messiah 2 pro can play dvds from most regions i think.

I have used a Messiah 2 and it plays all types of games mentioned. Works well.
Not sure about DVDs though.

Has anyone heard of the DMS3 chip? I have heard that it is upgradable and programmable (via CD-R) and plays all types of media from all regions. It costs a little over £100 (installed) and I think it's the dogs. Anyone?
It's the best and the most expensive.
I just got Magic 3.1 and it works fine

So you would recommend the DMS3 if I can get it? I know the guy who owns the shop where I'm going to get it fitted so I should get it for a little less the £100. Wicked!!
If anyone can help, it will be appreciated. I have PS2 version 7, I tried the knife trick but it did not work. Now I saw a thing called slide card. Does this slide card works? From what I see, it works like the knife trick, I don't understand what is the difference between knife trick and silde card. I think is the same thing but using different tools. Am I wrong?!!! or... Oh! I also read that you can play all type of games imports, backups, etc. Is it true?
Thank you !!!
Charly
The DMS 3 is the best chip i think. The Magic 3.1 is cheaper, works also fine but has less functions.
Knife trick etc. sucks
Hey guys, I am planning to get a mod chip. Any suggestions, on which one should I get. Thank you!

I've just got the DMS3 chip installed in my PS2 and it really is good. Apart from flawless DVD playback (backups, macrovision removal etc) and back-up games it also has a so called De-volution mode that enables your PS2 to play DIVx films! Not bad at all! The other big plus is that the chip is upgradeable by just burning the latest upgrade from the net and putting the CDr in your PS2. The chip recognises it and upgrades itself!
The chip can also be completely switched off (for online games with DNAS protection) by holding down the 'on' button for 3 secs when turning on the PS2. DMS3 is also very low voltage (apparently!) and this stops it ever getting warm. All in all a top chip that I can warmly recommend!!
P.s I don't work for DMS3, although it might sound like it!!
