Muad Dib, barely...
Because the starting elevens are pretty average ...But Muad's is slightly better...

Close in almost all areas, but I think Martin would edge it with the deciding factor being the very impressive looking trio of Parker-Hleb-Diego and a world class goalkeeper in Paul Robinson.

I think Metzelder should replace Montero.

Pavon! Haha.

Anyways, Martin you take this, but as the others have said, just barely. You've got a good trio in Diego, Hleb, and Parker and I like your attacking trio as well. I also think that Metzelder should take Montero's spot.

Muad, I like your team as well, but I think Martin's midfield is slightly stronger. I don't know much about Pepe or Lincoln apar from what teams they play for, so that is the only think I hold against you. Unfortunately. Other than that, looks like a solid squad.

Congrats guys.

Thanks for the comments so far guys.

What do you guys think about Bouma and Pavon? I know they're not superstars but i always thought they, Bouma especially, were pretty good. Is he better in the centre or the left, etc...?

Essentially, aside from wanting to try out a cool new midfield, i was interested in seeing how my defence can be changed around.

In my opinion, Rocha and Caneira are better than Bouma and Pavon. Wilfred Bouma was good for PSV, but has looked poor at Villa whenever i've seen him.

Mendy-Rocha-Caneira-Metzelder

Or you could put Montero in there instead of Caneira as he is more well-established. I prefer Metzelder in the heart of the defence, so you could possibly buy a better left back than Bouma, perhaps Coco from Rafa if he's going cheaply.

Cheers James.

I prefer Metzelder in the middle too, so i'll probably keep him there. I think Bouma is good, although it's true that his form for Villa leaves a little to be desired. Bridge will most likely come in at left back, and then i just have to decide who partners Metzelder, with Rocha a strong favourite at the moment. Shame Montero isn't a few years younger, then i'd be truely solid in the middle. Ah well he's still pretty decent.

Very close game.

I'd say Martin would edge this, would be a great battle in midfield. I'd drop Pavon and put Bouma in the centre, his best position in my opinion, then put Metzelder on the left. Alos Rocha for Montero. I'm unsure about Bouma as for Holland and PSV he played exeptionally but he looks very unaware, sluggish and slow-off the mark for Villa, but judging on his ability I'd keep him in there at the centre of your defence, or rotate Metzelder and Bouma.

-Mendy-Rocha-Bouma-Metzelder

Your midfield is excellent but I think you must find a way to slot Emre in the starting line-up, when on form he is amazing, but its a very good combination of physical players such as Parker and creative players such as Diego. A fairly strong team but I think your defence could be your weakest link - great keeper though.

Edit: You have Bridge? Put Metzelder in the middle with Rocha, drop Bouma and play Bridge at left back.

Mendy-Rocha-Metzelder-Bridge

Pretty damn solid.

Muad, this obviously isn't your strongest team so its hard what to say. I'd put Gallas and Marquez instead of Kompany and Pepe(which I assume you'll do that in a competitive game) and put Babel on the right wing instead of Gonzalez. Maybe put Kompany infront of the back four instead of Obdodo. Also Valdes instead of Moreira.

Yeah, I didn't realise Martin had Bridge either, definitely put him in there, nice balance each side with Bridge and Mendy.

Formidable. :dribble:

:shocking:  :w00t :erm: :argue:

Sorry, had to try out the new smilies :w00t

edit: You deserve a lot of credit for the work you've done with this team considering the state it was in when you took it over.

Many thanks - G - and James.

I'm still in need of a player or two more to complete everything, but i'm fairly pleased i must say.

Maybe i should have picked Rocha myself...:D

A word, if i may, to those that say they dont know this and that player, for future reference.

Just because you have not seen them in action that doesnt mean that they are shit or should be disregarded. You can easily google their names and find some information about who they play for and how they are regarded by the press or their fans. If you are too lazy to do that then just abstain from trying to give an informed opinion, or even voting for that matter.

I know who are the strong players in my team so telling me to switch this guy for that one doesnt really help me in the least. I'd like to know what you think of the formation and players that i am using for this match.

Bouma is a good solid defender, dont worry. I always felt he was better in centre back, but it really is only a slight advantage over leftback. You could switch him with Metzelder like The G said, no worries.

Cracking free kick he got, too.

Very solid midfield formation, Muad. Strong with Moutinho and Lincoln as attacking midfielders, with space for Valente and Mendy to fill up eventual gaps left.
