Well, Dave would probably dominate in the midfield. Motta, Edmilson, and Cambiasso would stop Nakata and Maduro in their tracks. Messi and Quaresma would definately cause a lot of havoc down the wings. That'd be interesting to see, Gio, Lee, Messi, Quaresma vs Camo, Wihly, Nelson, and Kromkamp.

I think the game will be won and lost in the midfield. A draw in the end realistically.

EDIT/
I went with Dave as he was down 3-0.

I feel Nedy would win this one pretty comfortably. Resting van Persie, Riquelme and Oliveira was costly, with those included, it could have been a very different outcome.

Farfan wouldn't get much out of Woodgate and Taylor, and with Maduro sitting back, I can't see where the goals are coming from. Packing the midfield would help contain Nakata and Maduro's ability going forward, but I don't think it was necessary. A partner for Farfan would have been better than an extra man in midfield.

Messi and Quaresma are Nedy's main men and are going to be extremely difficult to stop. Two of the best attacking players in Europe right now; they would be the match winners.

Not to keen on Farfan in CF position, although he can always grab a goal from out of nowhere. He's not the type of striker to wait for balls from the flanks, he's more a player for the flanks himself. He's gonna have a hard time against Woodgate and Taylor though, but again, his ability to score goals out of nowhere helps him here/

Messi and Quaresma on the sides; very good and very strong. With them on the sides Carew would've been the perfect man to receive their crosses. Can't say Wiltord and Defoe are bad choices though.

With Cambiasso being very good this season, I can see him largely controling the mdifield along with Nakata. Nedy is having a hard time in the centre, but the two very strong men on the side make up for.

I think this will end up a draw, so I voted for Dave who was 1-4 behind.

I fancy Nedy. Not to win, I just fancy him.

I reckon Nedy could get this one. As Reyes said it was a mistake resting Oliviera, Riquelme and Van Persie. They would really have turned this match around. Farfan on his own upfront doesn't seem like a good idea to me, Wilhelmsson and Camoranesi out wide may help but i can't really see him scoring to be honest. Nedy's defence is well capable of taking care of Farfan and any other threats. Plus if neede Maduro could come back and give a helping hand, not that i see that happening though. I feel Messi and Quaresma could run a riot against Dave's fullbacks, they would be able to get in behind them and feed Defoe and Wiltord some decent balls. Maybe 2-0 to Nedy.

Two nice central defences, but Nedy's looks that bit more solid. In terms of full-backs i'd say that Nedy is also slightly better, although having Y. P. Lee playing at right back is going to lessen his usefulness.

David has a more combative central midfield trio and should win the battle against Maduro and Nakata. To counter this, I think that Nedy's wide men will be more effective at creating chances than David's, and ultimately will link up better with the duo of Defoe and Wiltord. I think using Farfan as a centre forward is not his best position, especially when he is as isolated as he is in this lineup.

Despite the fact that i'm handing midfield dominance to David, I doubt his ability to score goals and believe that Nedy's wide men will provide a great deal of chances for Defoe and Wiltord, who are bound to bag a couple between them.

2-0 to Nedy.

2-0 to Nedy.

Agree with Martin's comment fully, Nedy's wide players will be a major threat.

2-0 Nedy.

i think dave would win, his central players would run right over nakata, while maduro would provide some resistence it wouldn't be enough

the wings, tho nedy has the better players would be closer than you'd think as messi would not honor his defensive responsiblities, his team just isn't balanced enough, too much going forward
