Best Graphics Program

I am in need of a good graphics program.
So I can do some sweet sigs etc..

At the moment I have PhotoImpact which isnt that good,
anyone know where I can get a good program for free?
Aswell as PSDs (w4l-gfx.com?)

The best one is Photoshop, but it isn't free, about 600 Pounds I think, but there are other ways of getting it...:ninja:

Ok I've downloaded a "free" version of Photoshop 7.0
This looks confusing and where can I find football PSDs?

You can open jpgs and other file extensions too, not just .psds!
