Overview:
Besides a full Championship update, a lot more attention has been paid to teams outside of the championship, with updated kits, squads, appearances and stats. The updated appearances come courstesy of people such as delpiero and Rapid Vienna. Also included on the file are several of PLF's stat updates as well as everage's fantastic international kits - both classic and the current, newly unveiled international kits.

How to transfer the OF onto you Memory Card/Hard Drive:

Using Xbox Max Drive...
1. Download and unzip the file
2. Make an archive (zip file) of the folder called UDATA
3. Drag this newly created zip file onto your maxdrive using the software.
4. Connect your maxdrive into one of your Xbox controller ports and load up PES5.
5. On the PES5 menu screen, go to Options > PES Data Control > Copy Saved Data. Then select the ‘Change’ option, and select the Datel Max Drive from the list.
6. Select the PES5 Option file present on the max drive, and then choose a slot on your hard drive to save the option file.
7. Once you have saved the file to your xbox hard drive/memory card, return to the main game menu and let play begin!

Using PS2 Max Drive...
1. Download and unzip the file
2. Select and drag the .max file onto the max drive software.

Using PS2 X-Port...
1. Download and unzip the file
2. Import the .xps file into your X-Port database using the X-Port software
3. Select and choose the 'Restore' option to transfer the option file onto your memory card.

Using PSP...
Simply drag file onto PSP save file.

Using PC...
1. Download and unzip the file
2. Copy the file entitled KONAMI-WIN32PES5OPT and paste it into the folder My Documents > KONAMI > Pro Evolution Soccer 5 > Save > Folder 1

As highlighted in bold, the save folder above is located in My Documents and NOT the Konami folder in Program Files.

The file MUST be entitled KONAMI-WIN32PES5OPT for it to work, so do not change the name of the file.

Note: If you already have an existing option file on your memory card or hard drive, you will be asked if you want to overwrite it. If your current file is one you might want to go back to then you will want to back the file up first, before transferring this Option File.

To unzip a file you will need to download WinRar (http://www.download.com/WinRAR/3000-2250_4-10446177.html?tag=lst-0-1) or Winzip (http://www.download.com/WinZip/3000-2250_4-10454671.html?tag=lst-0-1) if you haven't got one of these already.

If you follow these instructions, you should have no problems.

A few minor errors tho, some players missing from premiership teams: Latka & Bruce (Birmingham), Cattermole (Boro), Westerveld (Everton) are the ones i've noticed, maybe more. There's djsaunders option file for PES4...which contains Championship and League 1 sides. Only problem being that is now out-dated (last season), and due to the lack of people still playing PES4...there are no updates available.

The file needs to be unzipped. I used Win Rar to zip it up. THe file that needs to be dragged across is the file that has a long number and its name starting ULES(then a long number).

You need win rar to unzip it win zip wont work.

I'm not sure Peters can play CMF but Richards can, I've put Currie down fo SS as a position although he wasn't very good at it when he played there and I think I mentioned this for V1 but I think Supple is left footed. 1. Stats were based on the FM2006 database, whilst applying my own knowledge where possible and indeed numerous other people's input. Stats are being tweaked all the time.

2. The Ligue 1 players were transferred from my old option file, so therefore they were the default players with the exception of a small few, where I have used PLF's updated stats. Also added in some new additions to the teams myself, that weren't previously in the game. e.g. Gakpe of Monaco

3. Now I don't know if you are speaking specifically to this option file but the only teams I intend on adding in at the present time are Hearts & Hibernian. I'm not sure if there is an option file about currently that has Serie B teams in but I think I'd be right in saying that people downloading an English Championship option file wouldn't be interested in Serie B teams. (Btw, replacing Ado den Haag and Willem II wouldn't be possible as they are both licensed teams - thus meaning they cannot be overwritten)

4. I should be able to convert the option file into WE9I format. The problem I'm having is getting hold of a WE9I option file which I need in order to make the conversion. I've been trying to download some from megaupload but keep getting told I've 'exceeded my download limit'. So I don't know if this is something you would be able to help out with, by uploading a WE9I OF to somewhere like www.yousendit.com ?

You should drag and drop the file onto somewhere like your desktop, so it is saved on your hard drive. When you go to yousendit and click browse, locate the file on your desktop (or wherever you chose to save it) and upload the file. You will then be given a download link.

P.S. Does your option file have the classic teams and players unlocked? I never unlock them as I feel it ruins the realism of my ML.

Each format of the file has a locked or unlocked version. So you'll want to chose the locked version if you don't want classic teams/players.

Casper, you tool, you beat me here!

Paul B, AWESOME!! Casper and I got it converted to a WE9 OF by using the PESFAN editor and an original WE9 OF. We loaded the WE9 OF and then used the OF2 function to import all of your teams, stadiums, logos, emblems, etc. into the WE9 OF and then saved as a new file name, "Coca_Cola". I loaded it up and it's awesome!!

Problem I had was that I couldn't score with Ipswich Town, LOL!! So, I reloaded my ML OF and played a couple more ML games w/ DC United. I am going to try my luck again tonight w/ Coca Cola.

Also, did you edit player appearances on all those teams as well??

Well, I restarted my ML w/ Ipswich Town using the match mode players. Won my first match 1-0 and then pulled out a draw at Norwich 2-2. Paul B, great work! The CCC teams seem evenly matched and the gameplay feels good. I like the formation you have set for Ipswich as well. I may try and incorporate it into my online play and see how it fairs against the human opponent. Don't worry, I still get my DC United fix on occasion as I keep saving and reloading my OF's, LOL!!

I've finally got round to starting a ML with Ipswich myself recently and have been finding goals hard to come by too.

I won division 2 the first season scoring just 10 goals and conceding 3. (W6 D7 L1 GS10 GC3)

This season, currently 10th in the league after 9 games but I've only scored 5 goals (same amount as bottom placed Wolves!) and conceded 6 (best defensive record)

This file looks great, it really does, but the PC link on filefront is missing why they perform server maintenence, but its been like that for at least 4 days now, was wondering if its possible to get a mirror link up for the pc version? I manage a server so im happy to host it for others aswell if nessecary, i would just love to get my hands on the actual file :)

Yes, great work!

I first came across your Classic kits, as my mate was using them on his option file...for which he then told me where he got them from. It was then I discovered your current international kits too. :)

And Marc_EFC: I already intend to add in Hearts and Hibs, but realisticly for the moment the number of new teams won't increase too much. My aim for now is just to replace the teams in 'Other Leagues B', and then look into other possiblities thereafter.

Maybe so, but remember not everybody can play patched PES - and this is therefore for people that can't.

If patchmakers can make a patch to work in conjunction with my option file then great, but its not something I can do myself.

As far as I know, for people with the PC version of the game - If you wanted to use the data from my option file but have the patched (real) kits, all you would need to do is download my OF and the championship patch...and then change all of the championship teams to their default kits...for them to show up as the patched ones. (That's presuming they've done the Champ teams in the same order as me) You can experiment...

I didn't change the memory card save file image myself, qprhoops81 did it for me.

However you need to download BMP2Icon in order create an icon and then use PS2 savebuilder to input it. You can find both programs if you google them/search the forum.

If you need any further help you could PM qprhoops81 and I'm sure he'd be able to help you.

Could you just tell me though is it worth downloading this option file now, as a Birmingham fan, or waiting until your updated file is out ?

Actually I will download it this afternoon and give it a go anyway - I am fed up wityh the Barcelona's of this wrold and it will be great to have a crack at teams like Stoke, Ipswich etc

Just had a quick couple of games and I know its a bit out of date but I like it. I just did a few transfers (the ones I could think of off the top of my head) and now Birmingham havent got Jarosik, Pennant or Heskey its almost impossible to score.

Have you followed the guide in the first post?

If you follow those exact instructions you should have no problems.

You should only experience difficulties if you are using a modded xbox, though I believe somebody found a solution that was posted in the v1 thread.

Are there any updates for this for the new season?
If you take time out to read the last few posts in this thread you will find out what the current situation is.
