Teekay - Love the simpleness of this sig, text suits and the smaller pics at the bottom work nicely. The reversed render idea on the other side is good too, but I think the red light's opacity should be reduced a little. I also think what would work better is if the main picture of Ronnie was lighter than the one on the right hand side, maybe a few duplicated set on screen and colour dodge and with low opacities, mess around, you know the stuff, just to make his face a little lighter.

Original: Doesn't really look like Singey's concept, but that's only good because you have to have some originality. I can see the inspiration there though.

Now let's say something about the wall. It has potential, that's for sure, but I'm not sure it works out in the end. To me the main problem appears to be the flatness of the wall. The colours and contrast seem pretty same across the whole piece and that leads to a lack of a focus point. Nothing really demands attention there. Also all of the space is pretty much filled with stuff, which disturbs my eye a little. Sometimes less is more. Also the wall doesn't have anything special in it really, it's well realized but it doesn't offer anything breathtakingly new.

The idea of the three render pics looks pretty good, it gives a nice continuity to the wall. The text is a matter of opinion, not my piece of cake but it probably appeals to some people.

I love most of them walls, especially the Jay-z walls, the second Jay-z one is the better of the two, some great artistic ideas around the render, one of the best ive seen from you for a while, you should be proud of it. The others are simple but effective, colours used are minimal but it works nicely, keep it up.

The background is very plain but obviously it's a look you've gone for, I feel it's a little too uninteresting though. The render is the main problem with this one for me, the blending isn't particularly good which is a surprise from you. The text and design beneath the main render is my favourite part and it quite stylish. The whole thing looks a little empty, but if you increased the render/text in size just a little I think it would help.

The background is possibly more plain than the first, but it's not a problem in this one because you have more varied colours in the render that take the focus. The 'render' is nice and I like the very soft shdow render, it's a nice touch. The splatter, sunrays and swoosh over the text all seem to finish it off nicely. Well done.

Technically I think it's excellent, but the bright lens flare-esque light over the text is too bright for a wallpaper. The vector brushing, the splattering are all extremely well done, can't fault them, I like the blending on this one as well. The render, and the two small are both very good. My only real fault is still the light, it needs to be dimmed down and possibly moved to the right end of the Jay Z text.

Interesting idea using the text and blending together. Unfortunately I think it's horrible, I don't like the green and the text is uninspiring, which seems to be a theme for the whole piece. It may be a quickie but sorry mate it's nowhere near your standard.

The text is nicely realised, and a simple idea that's worked nicely, but I don't think I could class it as one of your best. Nothing particularly grabbing about it.

Original? The wallpaper is very subtle but the lighting and colours suit it well and are done correctly not overdone. I like the little slanty lyric part too. A good wall but poor subject matter ;)

The CD cover is very cool I am guessing the band are heavy-ish. If so it looks kind of Rock stylish and would suit them. I love the pics and the nice faint border that seperates them again it is a nice touch just to bring it out.

Both are quite good but I think if you combined some aspects of each you would have the best. In the first one I prefer the brushing on the render because it isn't on the render and it is a better looking brush where as on the second one it seems more messy and can be seen on the render. Also the first one seems a bit dull and lifeless where as the second one has a colour scheme befitting of the render. Both texts are good although the first one with shadow looks attractive. Perhaps make a combo wall and all wil be nigh on perfection. Good work Moinseur ?

Luis Garcia white: I like how you have left a lot of room for the render, you don't have to think twice about what to look at if you know what I mean. The render effects could be nice, but I think they end up looking rather bland due to a lack of colour. The render looks a little dead too, maybe you should give Luis a little bit of saturation. The text should be more commanding because it's in such an empty space, now it looks like a wedding invitation or something formal :D And I like your new credits area, just make a bit smaller.

Luis Garcia black: Okay, firstly I have to say that I'm not a huge fan of this wall. I think I can see what you aimed for but to me it just doesn't work out. The main problem to me is that the effects on the render look like they are bad quality. It's not what you have done to them, but the brush just looks bad. I think the render has the same problem the other wall has, it looks very colourless. The stadium in the bg is too visible too.

I actually like this quite a lot. The big render is always a little "controversial", but in this wall it works really nicely. The effects and lightning look pretty dynamic, they give a really nice feeling to the wall and apply some contrast which is sometimes missing in your works. And the purple could be even more intense in my opinion. Overall, it's a nice wall, but there are still a couple of things I'd like to change. Firstly, I'd like to brush some black colour to the sides so that the render and the center would get more focus. Maybe try it out in a V2. Secondly, the violation font doesn't really suit the flow of the wall, get rid of it.

I like the general feel of the wall, especially the render, very original. I don't think the text fits at all though, in my opinon that text is a completly differnet style to the wall and just doesn't fit. I'd say the biggest thing you could improve on is the background, too bland for me. But in general its a good quality wallpaper, as I always expect from you :).

Well for starters the colours are nice and simple and keep it quite vibrant. I feel the lighting around the middles is a bit much though. the splatters are nice and so too the text. I think the render is perhaps a bit too dull.

Havn't been on photoshop this year so I thought I'd have a go at a sig, the main thing I did was mess around with the render, whilst pasting the text and logo in and then just adjusting the opacity and blending etc. Also just smoothed off the edges quick and I came up with this:

Killerkey: Not bad, I know you can do much better, but its a nice and simple sig to return with, not too much to say really, maybe a bit more colour would do the trick.

Cracky: They are both ncie and simple sigs, I like the Kings of Leon one for its render effects, that kind of pixelated look. The TH one is also very good for your standard but a little simple, the text is ok but if you added some more colour and chopped up the render a bit more it would look a lot better.

I disagree while the background isn't amazingly complex it suits nicely, the render is blended nicely though the back foot is cut off so maybe some lighting to cover that up would help, the rest of the lighting is very nice and I think you've used the brush set well. I like the shadow render and the text is ok, but there's something missing to really set everything off, or to get the dreaded 'wow-factor' that Teekay keeps telling me about! Don't worry I know how annoying that is...

Nice use of a gradient for the background, I think the background is the best part here, enough going on to make it look full without going overboard. The render isn't bad but should be a little birght to fit the lighting of the signature, then the cut and blending could use some work I'm afraid. Simple text is the along the rightlines but it's perhaps a little too simple, and the outer glow very rarely works. Still overall it's a solid effort, well done mate.

I quite like this, nice background and a decent render give the foundations for a very good sig. Perhaps you've used too many different styles of brushes? Not a big issue but maybe not needed. Only big qualm would be the text for "Amauri", not very clear and looks bad quality. Good sig though, as I say I like it.

Poffeman: That's nice work, not been round that much but it's the best i've seen in a while, I need some 3D glasses for this one. The depth is great, actually looks like you could put your hand in it. Like the colours too although they do contrast to much in some places. Can't realy see the text, think it should stand out more. The arrows set it off well, adding to the 3D effect. Great work.

Original?: Totti sig has a nice style to it. The render is blended in superbly and I'm seriously loving the BG. Lighting around Francesco is crisp, as it all flows together well. Border is simple and it works really. Text is nice and simple too, and it looks great, although if I'm being honest, I'm not too keen on the 'AS Roma' text. Altogether a really nice signature, well done!

Yeah, Onskin is just a superb artist. Definitely the best on SA right now.

As for the new walls, the first one is a bit confusing. I can see it is a some kind of a lightning experiment, but it doesn't work as a piece of art really. The stuff that can actually be seen look rather nice, but I just don't see the point with the giant mass of blue light in the middle.

The second wall is very good. One of the best you've done in recent times in my opinion. The layout looks very nice and easy on the eyes, you don't need to know a whole lot about graphics to like it. The bg picture of the stadium (Emirates?) looks very nice, but I think you could make it a little bit more contrasted to create a nice effect against the grey. Talking of the grey area, it irritates me a bit, because it really doesn't add anything to the wall. I'd prefer the area to be totally black, or possibly dark grey. The text is nice, but I don't know if you're an egomaniac of some sort as you always put your signature in huge letters. Especially the lightning on the text is a nice touch. The upper part of the render is too desaturated in my opinion, it doesn't work against the lightning on the bottom, and it makes the render look boring. All in all it's a nice wall with a lot of good ideas, but some finishing touches would make it even better.

And yeah, when you make a good wall I'll give a nice feedback like that :D

Cali: It's nice to see you're making graphics again, welcome back! Anyway, the sig looks like a warm up practise to me, it has the elements of a real game, but it just lacks the extra effort. The main problem is that the render is overworked, it looks a bit too unnatural to me. The bg could be more visible as the picture with the neon lights and all could work. The text should be removed if you cannot think of a better one.

First one; see what Teekay said, too bright to really see what going on, or want to look at it for too long.

The second, again as Teekay said, is much better. The whole design is rather refreshing and the dots you've um... dotted about in the background are an excellent subtle touch. I think the text is excellent, the lighting sets it off nicely, and I disagree with Teekay, your signature looks fine, anywhere else or any smalelr and it'd look odd. I also like the render and wouldn't call it boring whatsoever. Certainly one of your best walls, it's really good and if I were an Arsenal fan I'd set it to my desktop.

It's good, but I've seen too much like that from you. Similar style, text, render. I want to see something completely different. I'm not saying I don't like your style, it'd just be cool to see something else.

Now, back to the sig. The sharpening effect is executed nicely, but the brushing on top of it really hurts the render in my opinion remove it.
Colours are nice and well blended, a bit colourless but it looks good.

I suggest you change the 'del piero' text, doesn't fit the rest in my opinion.

Poffeman - I love this, on really I do. Its style is new and refreshing and its layout works very well. The splatters and the render effects are all good and the piece comes together. The only thing im not sure about is the effects (although very good) coming off the guitar, just doesnt suit in my opinion but may in other peoples eyes. great work, keep it up.

Good job Socrballr. its looking great. [PEM] he's doing vector which involves pasting over areas of an image in a single shade of colour (usually the most dominant for that area), you can make it as complex or basic as you wish depending on how much area you paste over. The pen tool or polygonal lasso tool works best.

Yup pretty much exactly what singey said. I personally like the pen tool more than the lasso because I feel you have more control with the pen tool with regards to "tracing" the area you want to select. And then its just layers on top of layer on top of layers. I think I'm up to almost 200 layers on my project.

Anyway, pro evo master I like the bottom two sigs more than the top two. The colors blend together better in the bottom two. For the Kaiser Chiefs sig, I like the background effect, but I feel the colors(especially the bright blue) around the singer don't fit with the background. Nice work though, especially the solid snake one, probably my favorite out of the bunch.

At first glance it's very nice, however if you look at it a litle longer you can see that there is more work needed. It's a great start and the effect is rather nice, if a little heavy on Kaka's face, fade it a bit. The way you've cut the picture needs to be more random, get some good splatter brushes to spread the image out a bit more. Then take the text, delete it and start again with it, try putting it in the picture as at the minute it looks slapped on and won't prevent anyone ripping it anyway.

It's the same as Greenegg, the idea is very nice it's just missing the execution, bit more work and it will be a very good piece.

Hmm I haven't used photoshop for two years prior to this little project I'm working on now so I've forgotten most of the ways to add all those fancy effects. The only thing I can tell you is if the image is on its own layer, then maybe play with the blending options, like adding a border and making it blurry or something along those lines.

greenegg that's some nice work. Like others have said though I'm not feelin the gold frame. Maybe if you replaced it with something a bit more subtle it would look more fitting because the background is very smooth.

I like the idea wrigh2uk but I feel it could use some touching up. Maybe lighten the shading on Kaka's(?) face or just the whole picture in general. Also I would suggest maybe removing some of the white near the defender's head so you could see him better.

@NYRB: You are improving and once you get the hang of all those blending options the quality of your sigs will get better and better.

@pro evo master: The background of your sig is great, the only thing I'm not crazy about is the effect you used on the Cantona image. It's just personal preference but I like the image a bit more blended as opposed to a sort of jagged look it has to it, but I'm just being picky. Nice work.

There are many ways to do it like erasing the edges of the render a little or putting various effects or brushes around the render which blend well with the bg. Theres also darkening, brightness etc. there are so many ways.

ALSO: never ever resize and image to make it bigger because it loses its quality big time, always start with a huge image and resize down. In my opinion you should visit www.soccer-art.co.uk/forums and click on the picture dump. There are thousands of good quality images there and I guarrentee (sp?) you will find what you are looking for.
