When playing PES3 i realised how bad a second team man utd really have. Can they win verses Leeds tonight when they put out a second team? They couldn't against Fulham at home! And this team has even less stars! Don't get me wrong i know they're "for the future" and i know the first team are one of the best teams in the world, but im worryed if we have injuries.

i watched the first half, they look rather shaky to say the least.

i think david bellion is wearing slippers.

you'll probably still win though, you still have stars in your team like the neville brothers, diego forlan and the aforementioned bellion.

good luck

Bellion is shite.

He scored tonight so he can't be so bad, then again so did Forlan and Roque Junior got two .. bizarre stuff.

he also fell over about 20 times. roque junior had a good game. diego forlan doesnt seem to be happy unless hes offside then he smiles at the linesman.

forlan = shit
bellion = shit
man u = in trouble

we need another striker and to get rid of forlan

Cheeky goal by DumbnDumba to end the game there. If he had missed that, I'm sure he'd be quite embarassed as he could have quite easily played it down and slotted it past the keeper.

Smithy's (http://www.skysports.com/skysports/article/0,,1-1109091,00.html) in trouble for chucking a Lucozade bottle at a woman's forehead. And they say chivalry is dead. Just adds to Leeds' woes.

heh heh saw that this morning, it's all a bit over the top if you ask me, he'll probably get more of a ban for that than rio will.

rios sorted cos he plays for man u, he wont get a long ban.

Take it from one who knows, Bellion is absolutely useless.

Yes, he is incredibly fast, but hes so clumsy, and he has the first touch of an elephant.

Arrogant little shit as well. Last year he faked an injury and buggered off to France, because he was "mentally unfit to play in a relegation battle." Then when he came back he went AWOL again, and was spotted back in France, claiming he was visiting his ill mother, who, 2 days later, came out and gave an interview to the press claiming he was off to Man U.

How we got £3m for him I'll never know.

Man Utd deserved the victory clearly! Djemba with a great goal. Bellion was superb and for me has the potential to be the next Henry.. Watch this space........

I was impressed by Man Utd's No. 33 "Eagles". Quality name too! Have to say was highly disappointed at the fact that all the young Arsenal players fielded were non-English players, most of them French.

That's Cesc. Star peformer for Spain in the U-17 World Cup. We *sneakingly signed* him off Barca quite some time ago now. Got barcelona fuming, that's for sure. He looks a real starlet for the future. Good to see Arsenal field possibly our youngest team ever in a match that I'm sure we'd all agree was value for money. Cygan even scored a penalty!

If anyone is going to be the next Henry, it'll be Sidney Govou. He has supreme pace, skill and all the attributes to make him a fine striker. Although, the lad is already 24...

There was one Arsenal youngster who was French on the pitch against Rotheram. Gael Clichy. You can count Aliadiere too but he's breaking into the first team.

Jerome Thomas, Ryan Smith, Justin Hoyte and John Spicer, who all played, are all English. If David Bentley wasn't injured he would definitely play and if Pennant wasn't on loan, he'd probably be playing too. We had an Irishman in goal too.

OK then, bearing in mind I only saw highlights. What'd you think of the Man Utd youngsters then?

PicturePerfect
31-10-2003, 00:09
If you only saw the highlights, don't be so quick to assume all the Arsenal youngsters were non-English.

Fletcher and Richardson looked pretty sharp against Leeds. The jury is still out on Bellion. He seems to like running into players a lot. Nice finish for that goal, though.

Wasn't much else on the field apart from already known players. Which is probably understandable since it was a heated affair against Leeds. Lynch and Pugh were on the bench, I think. They might have got a go if it was a 'lesser' side.

fletcher didn't have the greatest game I thought but he does look like a future talent, loved that shot that went out for a throw. as for bellion I haven't saw too much of him, how many games did he actually get for sunderland last season? half a dozen if even that.

Its wierd, last time Man Utd grew a squad of youth players they were from Britain (Neville, Beckham, Giggs etc). This time they have tryed to import them (Ronaldo, Djemba etc) from foreign countrys, and yet its the British youth players which are impressing loike Eagles and Fletcher and the new signings don't appear to be the same quality (except Ronaldo). I think in 5 years or whatever Man Utd will have Fletcher, Eagles etc in the team and Bellion and Djemba on the bench.

Bellendion made about half a dozen starts, and a dozen sub appearances.

Although I refuse to put any faith into the perfomances simply becuase it is the league cup. I mean we (arsenal) may pull a hard earned win against Rotheram but going from League cup to even the premireship or Europe is a billion light years apart.

good for the kids to have first team football though, they will get plenty more experience when these suspensions kick in from the 'battle of old trafford':

Arsenal: £175,000 fine and warned over future conduct
Martin Keown: Three-match ban. £20,000 fine
Lauren: Four-match ban. £40,000 fine
Ray Parlour: One-match ban. £10,000 fine
Patrick Vieira: One-match ban. £20,000 fine
Ashley Cole: £10,000 fine

Pretty one-sided battle if you ask me.

Arsenal are a disgrace to English football and deserved everything they got.

[Oh please everyone needs to get off their high horse. Really the fracas was bad yes. but really that bad? I think O'Neill Slaughtering Carragher is much worse. Poor United They get their egos bruised but if this had been any other team in England they wouldn't even be suspended. OK I agree Lauren and Keown deserve their bans but I wouldn't have it any other way. It's just like Arsenal and that's why I love 'em. Maybe all the booo boys would have a case if we had cracked a few skulls open.

Parlour's ban is pretty bemusing (as are others). What does he get a ban for? Calling someone a cunt? Right, like that's never happened before. Anyway, it's just better to get back to playing football matches and forgetting about this as soon as possible.

The real problem now is at right-back, and it's funny how we've been talking about kids this whole time and now Arsenal do need them. Moritz Volz (loan) can be called up by Fulham quickly and there is Justin Hoyte too who can fill that role.

[I agree we do need to get on with it but by the sound of it Fergie thinks that Arsenal has some inside track at the FA!! Ha if only that was true. ANyway I kinda glad we have these suspensions in a way cause it forces Wenger to play our young talent. Which is probably the brightest in the country.

yup but i think wenger need some reinforcements come jan. for the 2nd half of the season.

Lord Shrimpeh

Fergie sounded a bit stupid by saying arsenal cut a deal with the FA. He's being investigated and will probably get a 4 match ban or something then as soon as it finishes say it was Arsenals fault and get banned again!

asher b
03-11-2003, 00:36
then it wil be arsenals fault he got banned again, and he will get banned again, etc etc...

i bet when it rains in manchester its arsenals fault.

Arsenal are lucky that they never got a bigger ban although they truely deserved it. Fergie's war of words just help spice the rivalry up! ;)

I think it was more Arsenal's lack of quality at the back that did them in plus losing Vieira to injury was the final kick in the balls or was it big Sol's red card against Utd? And after all that they still haven't added any quality over the summer, oh dear.

I believe that we are more equipped for the future than UTD. We had two 16 year olds playing against Rotheram and in general, the players who were making either their first or second starts, were ALL under the age of 21.

Cesc Fabregat, what a player! He is composed, has some great skill, is quite strong for his age and overall looks every bit like a Viera.

I was at the game and to be honest I am excited about the future. But I hope Aliadiere can start finding the net...

Be afraid Man U, be very afraid.
