How to transfer the OF onto you Memory Card/Hard Drive:

Using Xbox Max Drive...
1. Copy the downloaded zip file to the max drive
2. Connect your maxdrive into one of your Xbox controller ports and load up PES5.
3. On the PES5 menu screen, go to Options > PES Data Control > Copy Saved Data. Then select the ‘Change’ option, and select the Datel Max Drive from the list.
4. Select the PES5 Option file present on the max drive, and then choose a slot on your hard drive to save the option file.
5. Once you have saved the file to your xbox hard drive/memory card, return to the main game menu and let play begin!

Using PS2 Max Drive...
1. Download the file
2. Plug the max drive in to the PC
3. Right click on Option File>send to Max Drive,
4. Plug max drive into USB port on PS2
5. Load up Max Drive software for PS2
6. Uncrush to memory card

Using PS2 X-Port...
1. Import the .xps file into your X-Port database using the X-Port software
2. Select and choose the 'Restore' option to transfer the option file onto your memory card.

Using PSP...
Simply drag file onto PSP save file.

Using PC...
1. Download the option file
2. Put the OF in C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\My Documents\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 5\save\folder1
3. Make sure it's called KONAMI-WIN32PES5OPT

Note: If you already have an existing option file on your memory card or hard drive, you will be asked if you want to overwrite it. If your current file is one you might want to go back to then you will want to back the file up first, before transferring this Option File.

If you follow these instructions, you should have no problems.

Q: Where can I get a max drive from?

A: www.play.com is the best place. If you can’t get it from there, ebay is the only other place

Q: Where are the Classics

A: They have been overwritten with club team players

It would be absurd to have to buy a Max Drive for this to work.

hey man, great work again, just a couple of things i have found playing with pompey, first of all benjani is way way too good as i actually managed to score with him ;) but serioulsy D'Alessandro's hair is too dark, i've changed it too colour 56 because his hair is not as dark as you have it. but other than that cracking work and thanks for sharing it

I'm guessing this option file is more geared towards European Soccer and club kits as opposed to national kits .... cuz the majority of the south american national teams, the kits are untouched .... also for the U.S. kit there was no emblem ... is that something you might add in the next release?

4. On your Xbox (right window) - Navigate to: E/UDATA/4b4e0030
5. Transfer the 4 items selected in the left window over to the right window, select "overwrite all" and you're done.

I have an idea: instead of replacing some national teams with the correct ones for the world cup, why dont you replace some of the ''other leagues'' clubs with the missing national teams? that way you should have the teams completely created (name and all). Then you can configure the konami cup to 32 teams , and voila!!! the perfect fifa world cup!! What you think?

What you mean it's not possible? you can set the konami cup to only clubs, only national teams or a mix of both! I've played konami cup with both clubs and nationals mixed. And you can name the fake teams anything you want (no to speak of flags and badges etc).

To keep yout cup data, upload your original file, and use the PESFan Editor to copy it all across, and use that to import logos as well

I never got the PES5 file to work via FTP on my modded Xbox. I got WI9 and downloaded the files for that. That worked.

Why? Who knows.

I have the japenese version of the game and i have it patched to english. Will the we9i work for it. Or will i have to find a japenese option file.

BTW i plan on downloading the bin/cue file and then using wihiip to transfer to my ps2's hdd. Will this boot up and then copy over to my memory card or will i have to d/l the other files and then use the tutorial for copying to a mem card.

well i checked out spire k's OP and i looked at all world cup 06 kits which had the actual fa badge... and the world cup kits were much better than yours... (sorry)
..
and the man utd blue away kit... man utd have that red thing which spire k got done very well (the curved line that dortmund, man utd, arseanl away kit have).. and you used summat not as close as spire k... so you should improve that...

and also i recommend............
- update the ages (like rooney age 20, etc..)
- update some stats of youngsters ( like giuseppe rossi, he aint good in pes)
- PLEASE can you put the AIG logo on the MAN UTD shirt...
- and carrry on what your doing...

Thankls for letting me now, the world cup kits are almost perfect for V3 nad have had great work on them, a lot of ages have been updated but I'm not doing any new club kits for V3, and I'm not changing any stats myself either :)

Look i did just what u said and uncrushed the file from my max drive to my memory card and than loaded the game on my PS2.

But it didnt find the optionfile automaticly so i had to load it my self from the menu in the game..

But i have a problem that wont go away. I cant seem to save my optionfile anymore. like when i edit teams and stuff. Thenm it trys to auto save it on my option file but i get a Error message!!!

Try and give a bit more help rather than just saying that, say why they are dodgy etc etc. However if you mean China, Morocco, South Africa and Venezuela are screwed up this is because they have been overwritten with the new world cup teams (Angola, Ghana, Togo, and Trinidad and Tobago) players but the flags and team names could not be changed.

Actually you can but it requires removing a couple teams from Other A&B

Here is an example of how you can play a World Cup with teams and their actual names, flags, etc. I found it a few months ago on codejunkies and while it needed alot of work I have been able to get a good mix of your option file (amazing job by the way) Paul B's and this one with he PESfan editor. I only play with the Premier/Coca Cola and International teams so it suits me perfectly.

Have you change the ratings of some promising young player ? (Gourcuff, Clerc, Planus, Pelé.Y, Bodmer, Toulalan)
I know it's only players from the french league but these are the players I get to see more often than others.

Ebay

As you probably know, I'm against people thieving my file and flogging it on ebay, and a quick check shows that more than half are mine basically, some even stealing the text direct from my website!

So the only way round this I'm thinking, is to ell the file myself. By listing it now, I will be able to get a good amount of people from ebay before the official release so the thieves will not make as much money. I don't like selling on ebay particulalry as I feel that option files should be free, but I'm a bit short of cash so it should work out good all round. I'm hopeful I'll be able to release the file sooner than June as I don't have much left to do but if you want to get a slightly early release of the file, then the link is here, although I don't expect anyone to do so :)

Yea there are some issues going my suggested route and never figured that you would create such a file. It just pains me to use the revamed teams. So much that I purchased Fifa World Cup 2006 which was even more painfull due to the slowdown and framerate problems.

It means that Togo, Ghana, Angola and Trinidad have overwritten South Africa, Morocco, China and Venezuela, but the names of the teams haven't been changed (because they can't)

So basically, all the players and kits are correct, but the flag and names are not :)
