Inzaghi's out so Milan will struggle for goals. Shevchenko doesn't play well when forced into a deeper role due to Gilardino's inclusion.

This is the list of players that arrived at Milan; Valdés. Jorquera, Iniesta, Van Bommel, Ezquerro, Gio, Maxi, Puyol, Gabri, Eto'o, Edmílson, Belletti, Giuly, Sylvinho, Oleguer, Márquez, Ronaldinho i Motta.

The line-up is anyone's guess but i doubt he will use Iniesta as he has been doing lately. Gattuso is too much even for him. Something like this then;

--------------------Valdes----------------------
Belletti-------Oleguer-------Puyol-------Sylivinho
------------------------------------------------
-------------------Edmilson---------------------
---------Bommel---------------Deco------------
Giuly---------------Eto'o-------------------Dinho

Marquez and Motta will be there but i would be very surprised if they start.

My points on Barcelona.

Deco is suspended.
That's true. I put his name in the formation out of habit. He isn't in the list i posted as well.

I have no idea how the line-up is going to look then. Motta and Marquez haven't played in a couple of weeks. It's going to be a very interesting game.

The supposed line up is like the one you said Muad bar Iniesta replacing Deco, and Marquez partnering Puyol. Oleguer moving to right back. Still a strong line up. I'm not going to bet on this though. Seem to always get it wrong when it comes to Barça.

I love players like Iniesta, has all the makings of a great player. I'm thinking a draw, but I really don't care; I just hope I get to see some great football.

At the end of the day that's what i'm hoping for as well. Don't care about the scoreline as long as our boys make us proud.

Unless it's a major defeat with a three goal difference or something like that...

Couldn't agree more with you Muad. I want the rest of Europe to see what great total football we can play on our day. Great now that its the only game on tonight. Visca Barça. And good luck to Milan.

Keep your problems with someone in one thread. A simple point was made to you without any stupid emoticon so stop being a fucking baby for five minutes.

Yes, certain lines have to be drawn concerning results ;)

As long as Gio can get on those longrangers, they should be fine

Suggestions from the media are that Ancelotti won't surprise anyone and will play the following with Inzaghi injured:

Dida; Cafu, Nesta, Kaladze, Maldini; Pirlo, Gattuso, Seedorf, Kaka, Shevchenko, Gilardino.

Not happy with the inclusion of Pirlo who I think runs the risk of being swamped and starved of the space he requires to deliver accurate passes.

Sweey

Absolutely disgusting from Milan. Can Ancelotti not instruct Kaka to move around instead of running side-by-side with Edmilson for 75 minutes?

Dire display.

Good game for a netural tho. Lovely flowing football and Ronaldiho got a little lucky with that pass. Gilardino should has sold a dummy before shooting against the post as well

Sweey
18-04-2006, 21:43
How can he sell a dummy? He is one

Joel

Ancelotti's substitutions were poor. Why the hell bring on Ambrosini? Sweey, is Jankulovski injured? If not, why is Seedorf starting instead of him?

Tallulah Belle
18-04-2006, 21:46
He did alright. But i couldn't believe the miss from Kaka's sweet pass! Big 'OOOHHH' from me!

Sweey
18-04-2006, 21:48
Jankulovski has not been given a chance all season and will be sold this summer. Ancelotti screwed Dhorasoo over last season, its Jankulovski and Vogel this season. He refuses to give midfielders who are signed a chance in the team. Vogel should've played tonight and should also play in the second leg ahead of Pirlo.

Marvel, Gilardino hasn't scored in Europe and is usually far worse than tonight in Europe. He's fine in Serie A, fine for Italy, but poor in the CL. We missed Inzaghi BADLY.

Good game. Even though its only 1-0, i can't see Milan winning in the Nou Camp. Barca were a joy to watch, there the best team in europe, no matter what happens in this competition.

Joel
18-04-2006, 21:51
Definately agree with you, that you all missed Inzaghi. He adds a different dimension to the team. It will be hard for you all to get back into it, but you still got a chance.

Him and Giuly have executed that play in La Liga many times.

I'm so proud of our boys. I was really afraid of what might happen without Deco and Xavi controlling the middle, but thank fuck we've got Bommel and Iniesta. Outstanding performances from both of them. Not to mention our entire defense. Glorious stuff, i tell ya.

Tallulah Belle
18-04-2006, 21:52
I thought that Inzaghi was out on his arse recently?

Sweey
18-04-2006, 21:53
We have no chance. Ancelotti will flog that dead horse Pirlo in midfield, Seedorf will continue with his late season fuck-ups, Gattuso will get angry and turn into a wolf, Inzaghi will get caught offside, Shevchenko will be stranded, Kaka will get marked out of the game and Ronaldinho will whip Cafu all over the place. We have to play Cafu in the second leg, but we won't. We'll try to steal a 1-0 away win and go to extra-time. Certain Italian coaches (Prandelli and Spalletti are the highest profile exceptions) always go crawling back to that way of qualifying when they're struggling.

Marvel, Inzaghi is back from injury only relatively recently and scoring for fun but I think he has flu or something at the moment.

18-04-2006, 22:39
hey i finally won a bet!

Why is it that the italian teams in the later parts of champions league have failed to perform?

Juventus
Inter Milan
Now AC.

Sweey
18-04-2006, 22:41
Juventus are desperately out of form.

Inter are...well, Inter.

For Milan, we've ignored their problems all season long and gotten lucky until now. Ancelotti is too stubborn to change anything if it isn't working. Man-mark both Pirlo and Kaka and Milan are useless.

Singh
18-04-2006, 22:44
Yea i must say Stam was shite, so was Seedorf as usual and Kaka never really got into the game and was tracked by Edmilson all 90mins. Ac really need to shape up for the next game if they want to reach the final, i mean when Cafu came on Ac looked a better side already.

Dare i say you missed someone like Inzaghi:unsure:

Sweey
18-04-2006, 22:46
We did miss Inzaghi. Cafu should've started in the formation I posted earlier in this thread (though it was the one I expected, if it had been the one I wanted I'd have knocked Pirlo out and put Vogel in).

Pirlo and Kaka were poor, Stam wasn't that bad but he's not an attacking wing-back. We should've played Cafu, not Serginho and asked our left-back to tuck inside and Gattuso to cover at right-back. Too late now, and Ancelotti would never do something logical like that. In the Milan thread I highlighted two problems I saw us having if we played the "usual" midfield and Gilardino alongside Shevchenko. Both came to fruition tonight. If I can see it, why can't Ancelotti?
