View Full Version : What players you want your club to sign in the summer
With the leagues drawing to a close, what players would you like your team to sign in the summer.
For Arsenal:
Curtis Davies (WBA) - West Brom already look relegated and i'm sure if we put an offer for him, we'd get him.
Fernando Torres (Atletico Madrid) - Not only would he form a great partnership with Henry (if he stays) but would also help Reyes' game, as i've seen when watching Spain.
SWP (Chelsea) or Franck Ribery (Marseille) - Pires looks like he's leaving, no hard feelings he's been a great servant for the club, so we could do with a winger. Wright-Phillips may be a bit farfetched but Ribery would suit our style comfortably.
Milan:
Cassetti (Lecce) - They're relegated and he's way too good for Serie B. Could play the Cafu role quite well, even though Cafu is supposedly now staying.
Vucinic (Lecce) - Another one miles too good for Serie B. He'll definitely leave them, and would give us an extra option either on the wing or up-front meaning we wouldn't have to rely on Amoroso as our fourth-choice striker.
Perea (Atletico Madrid) - A deal supposedly already signed, he's got all the qualities we need in a young defender and would fit our system quite well. May need some time to adjust to Serie A though.
Gallas (Chelsea) - We could use him at right-back or in central defence and the truth is we don't have many options so of those we do have left, he's one of the better ones.
Sneijder (Ajax) - Long-term replacement for Seedorf in our midfield, he can pass very well and would be an alternate attacking threat when Kaka is being man-marked and Pirlo is playing poorly.
Players I don't want:
Mexes (Roma) - We're being linked with a move for him very soon, but I feel he has a temper problem, he's petulent and he's not all that useful either.
Poulsen (Schalke) - The move seems dead after he failed a medical, but I just hope we leave it and don't try again.
Crespo (Chelsea) - I've never accepted him at Milan, and I never will. He doesn't offer us anything we don't already have and doesn't do enough work. Not good enough!
for man utd
In
Joaquin-with giggs getting older push ronaldo onto the left and buy him as betis seem to have accepted he is going
gattuso-our midfield lacks a defensive mid he would fit right in
Out
rossi-but only on loan to give him more first team experience
I want Man U to sign Riquelme.
Liverpool:
Chimbonda: Read in the paper today that a bid of 1.5 could get him i have liked this fella over the season with Finnan soon to be 31 but still strong he could push Finnan and we could have some competition on that right handside of defense.
Upson: Hyypia has been one of our best players of the season not doing anything wrong but i'd like Upson and if the Brum get relagated then a bid of about 3 mil could do it for a strong defender like Upson. Am sure he would make a brill partneship with Carra.
Pennant: I don't know how much i have said how much i want this fella for us in the Liverpool thread, he would thrive so much for us on that right wing he pace injection would do out midfield wonders especially on counter attacks, his crossing is A* material he is one of the best crossers in the prem if not the best, he's youngish, english and already knows the prem so i'd love him.
Defoe: I'd love this fella he would do wonders for us, i've heard rumours of a swap with him and Cisse hummm.......
Bellamy: Like Defoe he's quick as fuck and has had a brill debut season for Blackburn his finishing is also great.
If we got these then i would be a happy man.
Good luck in getting Joaquin or Riquelme
Liverpool
IN
Joaquin - To get a decent right winger
Defoe - A good striker to get
Aguero - Because he's going to be good
Chimbonda - Because he is good
OUT
Traore - For obivous reasons
Cisse - So we can get money
Dudek - Because he's Polish
Ronaldinho
Messi
Kaka
Nesta
Nesta would be a miss, and I'm not sure about Ronaldinho
Am sure a swap deal involving Boumsong and Ronaldinho could tempt Barca for a swap and quick, what a deal that would be for Barca if that came off.
Well Boumsong is a goal scoring machine, just like Bramble

I don't know why you would want Adebayor out. Your judging him on a few months of playing in a new league, he hasn't even done that badly. He's got better strength than you think he has, one poor game against pompey really. Wait until this time next season and make another judgement.

Rangers
Mickael Landreau, Nantes - A young goalkeeper would be quite nice, although we do have 2 good goalkeepers. I have seen footage of him and looks to be one of the best young goalkeepers around.
Kim Kallstrom, Rennes - Skillful left footer. Good with the ball and can create alot of goal scoring oppertunities.
Efstathios Tavlaridis, Lille - We need a new central defender as Sotirios Kyrgiakos is a liability ever since signing a contract. Tavlaridis it's at a decent age and heard he is solid. Would like to see him at the club.
Étienne Didot, Rennes - Maybe Nikos could give me more information about him. He is young which is good but haven't seen much about him. He is attracting Paul Le Guen so there is something tells me that he could be skillful.
Definitely Maybe

Bellamy: Like Defoe he's quick as fuck and has had a brill debut season for Blackburn his finishing is also great.
Is it fuck, this is the first top flight season hes ever broken into double figures goalswise.
Anyway:
Alot depends on the Quinny takeover, as if that doesnt go through, we'll have precisely fuck all to spend.
In:
Callum Davenport on loan. Spurs wont let him go permanently, but have shifted him out on loan regularly for the past year. Proven defender at this level, and we'll need someone to partner Caldwell/Neil Collins, as Breen is shite and out of contract, and Danny Collins shouldnt even be a professional footballer.
We desperately need a left winger as Hoolio will be gone, but realistically I cant think of anyone who'd come.
Justin Hoyte looks set to leave Arsenal. He started off very well but has faded since christmas, but will piss all over the first division. Hes been quoted as saying he'd love to sign permanently and that if he doesnt, he'll still support us and come up whenever he hasnt got a game - sign him on.
Out:
Danny Collins - Utter shite
Kelvin Davis - aka Coco the clown. Ben Alnwick is the future, and is a much more stable keeper anyway. If we can get half a million for Davis then I'd personally drive him to wherever.
Tommy Miller - Annonymous. Very poor player.
Gary Breen - out of contract anyway. What a shit player though, and his attitude is awful
Andy Gray - done deal anyway, but get the fucker oot
Nyron Nosworthy - Bit of a cult hero, but hes still shite. Started off well anarl, now he cant even trap a ball. Shite.
The rest are good enough at Championship level
Must keep:
Ben Alnwick - Both Arsenal and Spurs have expressed an interest. Looks a great keeper, he'd be my number 1 next year.
George McCartney - best left back in the first division
Dean Whitehead - looked great in the first half of the season, faded alot since. Still, one of the only players good enough for the Prem, will be all ower the Championship
Stephen Elliott - see above really, except hes been injured, instead of fading. Cracking little player

A lot depends on whether the Icelandics frig off, Coates takes over, Boskamp stays on, a new manager comes in. Expect the weirdest. Heard rumours of a Coates take-over and bringing Pulis back. Oh dear...
If things stay as they are...
IN:
Zola Mutomona
Worth getting him in, then selling him straight away if needs be. Looks the dogs bollocks. We beat Palermo and Marseille to a player. Hahahhhahahahahhahahahahhaa!
Billy Jones
With Crewe going down, he'd be great to get on-board.
Ade Akinbiyi
Ade/Sammy strike-force would be a belter. Might be able to get him on-loan or a swap for Duberry?
Sam Sodje
Committed, strong and good in the air. Comfortable bringing it out've defence too
Trundle
For a laugh.
Jay Tabb
Impressed me with his dribbling skills. Must be better than Sweeney.
Neil Danns
Colchester seem to be faltering somewhat, I'd like us to get a midfielder who scored lots of goals. If the Zola work-permit application doesn't happen then he'd be a good guy to fall back on.
Majid Bougherra
See Billy Jones.
Junior
Impressed me recently when he's been doing the 'Makalele role'. Worth the wages, better than Brammer.
Paul Gallagher
Worth spending a bit of cash on. Need him on a permanant basis as he's won us so many games. Has the quality we need.
A left-back
Indridi Sigurdsson was supposedly close to joining, but nothing came of it as of yet. Dickinson has been great in the games he's played excluding Southampton, but a more experienced head is needed.
Loanees
We need to get some loans in, someone like Rossi would be superb, him or Walcott infact.
OUT
Lewis Buxton
Works hard, not good enough.
Peter Sweeney
A winger with no pace, and cross and won't take people on. Fuck him off.
Marlon Broomes
Too many costly errors.
Adam Rooney, Matthew Hazley, Adam Vass, Ryan Shotton, Martin Patterson, Andy Wilkinson, Carl Dickinson (ONLY ON-LOAN)
All have looked good players so far, but by sending them out on loan it could toughen them up and get them more experience.
Dave Brammer
One wonder strike, fuck all else. Bye bye.
Michael Duberry
Too much wages for too little. Only if we get a decent fee though.
If Coates comes in though, we must look at the likes of Nugent, Shittu, Jerome and so on.
Rangers

To be honest i did say that about Bellamy from responding from last weeks finishing from him which was top notch.

In For Rangers -
Boumsong - He played well in Scotland and I think he would be a good addition
Govou - Would be a great signing for a Rangers however I highly doubt he will come. Hopefully Paul Le Guen can convince him.
Cisse - His pace would be great in Scotland and I think he would score alot of goals.
Tavlaridis - Would add depth to the defence. We really need to add to the defence.
Landreau, Coupet or Cudicini - We need to add a quality keeper to the team. Klos was great however I think we have seen the best of him.
Pires - Good experience and would make a good addition to the gers team
Rothen - Rangers are in desperate need of a left mid and he would fit the bill.
Francois Clerc - A good right back who would fill the vacant right back slot. I think Alan Hutton is not good enough and ricksen is leaving.
Kallstrom - Would slot in next to Ferguson. Great passer and would be great.
Raul Tamudo - A proven goalscorer who would score for fun in Scotland. Has already proven himself in La Liga.
You may think this is a big list but with Rangers set to have a massive clearance I think this is who they should go for. The team needs to improve as the current squad is simply not good enough and have let themselves down in the league.
Is it fuck, this is the first top flight season hes ever broken into double figures goalswise.
(about Bellamy)
Cue Jonny2j's defence...
Newcastle;
In;
Bullard (replacement for Emre)
Baines (I like Carr but Baines could be special)
Torres (I doubt it though...)
Out;
Emre (would be a shame)
Owen (fcuk is he going anywhere:happy: )
Faye (please! Just...please!!! Apparently to Pompy again)
Bowyer (I really dont want him to but if Villa, Charlton or West Ham come knocking...)
Boumsong (God answered our prayers with Rangers apparentlybeing interested)

Yeah, we can dream. I doubt Tamudo or Rothen would come but Cisse is a real possibilty. He is unhappy and Liverpool and could be tempted by a move to Rangers
Liverpool:

I would like to see who daz said come in and Coupet.

An experianced but not too old central/defensive midfielder should be the target and Shaun Wright-Phillips. The chances of him coming back to City aren't high, but he is wasted at Chelsea and Pearce says that he'd love him back at the club, so there is a slight possibility. Love it if he came back.
Chimbonda-We have the best EPL RB already and Kromkamp
I'd argue that Neville is the best EPL RB. I'm sure alot of people would agree with me too.

Would be fucking great. I think they're all possible signings too. I think Gallas would be happy to join, because he would get to start in his favoured position - centre back. I'm pretty sure Joaquin is going to leave, and why not Arsenal? As for Joe Cole, it's less likely, but I think he would play more regularly with us, than with Chelsea.

Don't pretend like you haven't seen it... look at him again.
Manchester City
IN
Goalkeeper
David James isn't getting any younger and we need extra back-up.
Right-back
I'm one of the few people that like Danny Mills, but he can be a dickhead at times. We need extra cover in this position as we already have Nedum and Micah who can play here.
Centre-back
Sylvain Distin has been terrible this season and is yet to sign a new deal. We have Richard Dunne who is also waiting to sign a new deal. We need one or two quality centre-backs for back-up because someone like David Sommeil isn't good enough.
Left-back
Ben Thatcher is very ordinary and I feel nervous watching Jordan, even though he is half decent. I wouldn't mind if we brought someone in and let Thatcher go.
Right midfielder
Trevor Sinclair isn't good enough and Lee Croft will never be a Premiership star. There are plenty of decent wingers out there, Pearce just needs to find them.
Left midfielder
Signing Albert Riera for £3.5m would be a complete waste, hes ok but hes not good enough. I'd send him and that idiot Kiki Musampa back to Spain.
Holding midfielder
Thomas Gravesen has been mentioned, he'd be ideal. I think Joey might be on his way so we have to bring someone in who will fill the gap. Even if Barton stays, he would make a good partnership with Gravesen.
Creative midfielder
We need an Ali Benarbia type player to create the magic in midfield.
Striker
Bradley Wright-Phillips, Andy Cole, Darius Vassell and Georgios Samaras are the only strikers we have. I'd bring one or two in.
OUT
Antoine Sibierski
Biggest waste of space walking the earth, hes useless.
David Sommeil
I could do a better job, hes shit.
Nicky Weaver
I've lost patience with him, he'll never be good enough to be our number one again.
Bradley Wright-Phillips
A season out on loan wouldn't hurt him.
Riera and Musampa
Loan returns. I wouldn't buy either of them.
KEEP
Micah Richards
I challenge anyone to name a better teenager in the Premiership. So versatile, he can play anywhere in midfield and defence. Only 17, hes an incredible player for that age.
Nedum Onouha
A bit older than Micah, a really good defender and a sound athlete, already an England Under 21' international.
Georgios Samaras
He'll get better with the right players around him.
Matthew Mills
One for the future, he'll break into the team next season.

A new striker is not essential, i'm more worried about us signing an experienced defender, a central midfielder and a winger to replace Pires and/or Ljungberg, but there's no harm in having 3 top class strikers, although Torres would be on the costly side, so we should have other priorities and see how much money we have left over. Torres can poach goals and has the abiility that's required to fit in with Arsenal's style of play. I think he'd be the perfect striker for us. Shame we can't buy him before the potential CL final against Barca, his record against them is superb, he could be the match winner.

Nah, that's Houllier's job. ;)
Salif Diao has a decent world cup. He is the new Patrick Vieira, according to Houllier.
El Hadji-Diouf has a good world cup. He is the new Thierry Henry, according to Houllier.
Instead, we'll probably sign a few more under-19 year old Africans, and one well established player.

If we stay up, we have to sign Andres D'alessandro.
obviously a midfielder, jean makoun would be good, although i dont want him to be the next djemba djemba, diarra is also a wonderful player.
In
Cameron Jerome. Would cost £2m, maybe more, but he's worth it. Especially as we're desperately lacking a target man.
Greg Halford. Need a right midfielder, he seems good, and he can cover some other areas.
Neil Danns. I've heard that his contract is up, if so, then he would be a good signing based on what I've heard.
Madgid Bougherra. He managed to impress for Crewe. No mean feat.
Plus a left back and another central midfielder, don't know who though. Maybe loanees or bargain buys, but they're needed.
Out
Greeno. Paul Gallacher is just as good, Joe Lewis plays for England Under 18s, and Greeno is valuable.
Peter Thorne. He is no good at anything really.
Jason Jarrett. Only performs when he's away on loan. And Preston wanna keep him, they can have him.
Andy Hughes. Can't pass the ball to save his life.
Carl Robinson. Another central midfielder, that area really needs a makeover. Robinson is generally not good enough.
Matty Louis-Jean. Always injured, and poor when he does play.
Jurgen Colin. Maybe. All the decent youngsters are right backs, and this guy is too clumsy.
Craig Fleming. Maybe. Too old now.
Plus, get Worthy out, and Phil Parkinson in. Completely fucking up Colchester; two best players and the manager.
