We have quite a heated affair this afternoon at Elland Road. Leeds are desperate for a win after their woes were added to by the loss against United in the Carling Cup. Arsenal will be looking to seal another good performance in the run up to their Champion's League fixture at home to Dynamo Kiev, a must-win situtation for them, the team who they suffered a crushing defeat to just over a week ago.
In injury news, Arsenal will still be missing Patrick Vieira through a thigh injury and they are doubts whether Dominic Matteo will start for Leeds United. Mark Viduka and veteran David Batty should be fit however.
The main talking point about the game so far has been Arsene Wenger's decision to allow Jermaine Pennant to play against his own club Arsenal due to 'his principles'. The England young talent has been on loan to Leeds United since the start of the season. Not many Arsenal fans I've spoken to have any qualms about it. Maybe playing against his own club will allow Pennant to finally show his potential in true light to AW. Who knows? What I do know however is that Pennant and Ashley Cole are the best of 'pals'. It would be interesting to witness the duel between them today although that duel could turn out to be them holding hands and skipping down the left flank, because you know, they're pals. ;)
hhaha 4-1. leeds to the div 1! soon!
i think maybe they wont go down, there are others weaker then them
Definitely Maybe

For any Leedsfans, what do you think of Peter GReid?

Yeah, we'll win.
Amazing stuff from the boys yesterday. And the surprising thing was, I got the impression Arsenal weren't even trying too hard. They sat back, defended well and when they had the ball kept it for long periods. Little inspiration for Leeds after the consolation goal but nothing really.
Can't believe Aliadiere missed his header from so close. Should really have had his first Premier League goal of the season.
Changing tracks, anybody see Ferguson's demented comments of Arsenal stirring up a deal with the FA? Absolutely moronic. And people talk about AW's comments. I hope the retard gets what's coming to him, in the form or legal action, perhaps.
was it just me or did anyone else think leeds' goal was aaron lennons and not alan smiths?? he didnt touch it and if he did it made no difference to the direction of the ball!

You just want to hold the record for youngest Premiership scorer....again. :)
not really, it could have been my grandad who hit that cross but smith still didnt touch it!
i dont think smith touch it and the goal ought to be credited to lennon, he is terrfic and a goal will do just nice. he is one for the future, leeds youth is quite good
Definitely Maybe

Hes not a "nice lad" though. Hes stubborn and arrogant. Just read the stories of ex-Sunderland players, particually foreign ones, who he has treat like shit.
He signed a French forward a few years ago called Lilian Laslandes. After his first game, he suggested that we drop the long ball game, to which Reid replied "Oi, Frenchie, you didnt invent the game, so fuck off back home." Laslandes never played for us again.
His transfer record is abysmal. People always refer to the signing of Kevin Phillips, but we only signed him because Reid wanted David Connolly from Watford, who turned us down, and Glen Roeder (Watford manager at the time) offered us Phillips instead.
Watch him in the next few weeks... You can predict what his excuses will be - "more hard work needed," "more time on the training pitch," "second best all over the park," and "I might as well have been talking Swahili..."
When we first got promoted in 99/00, we were linked with Georgi Kinkladze. Reid's response to the rumour - "If I wanted clowns I'd go to the circus."
Reid would rather sign 10 journeymen for £1m each, than 2 or 3 proven class players.
I hold Reid firmly responsible for our demise, as do most Sunderland fans. Shame the media and the public view him as the "cheeky scouser who can do no wrong."
i told everyone at beginning of last year that henry was better then nistelrooy and everyone disagreed
now look at him, nistelrooy without a goal in 9+ hours and henry top scorer
go on my son :D
shame his own team mates are having to save his shots now to stop him going too far ahead of everyone else
(cough*parlour*cough)
totally different style of players, henry is a not only a goal scorer but also assists and he offer much more options. but RVN is more of a goal poacher but aint that pretty to watch then henry
sigh - repeat
i think henry is a better then nistelrooy
regardless of type pf player
im talking about all round here
who would i rather have in my team henry or nistelrooy - henry
geddit? :) :p
Henrys the better all round player although nistlerooy is capable of scoring more - hes just on a bad run at the moment! I cant say anything though cause im a sunderland supporter - all i can do is dream!
sigh - repeat

Both are undeniably part of Europe's elite set of forwards. They have different styles, however, of course, as each amazing forward you'll find has their own unique ablility(s) that they bring to the pitch.
Henry likes to pass it aroudn more and the fact that he had more assists then anyone in the EPL last year proves that. RVN is more sneakier and cunning and even in a game where he's not been involved much, he has a knack for slotting one in the back of the net or producing a moment of brilliance. Still a cheat, however. ;P
