Velvet Underground - Venus In Furs
Still great.
Such an anthemic tune.
Their first album was voted the best debut of all time by Uncut magazine a few months back, I remember reading the review on holiday, and they had a little section describing each song, what they meant, how they recorded it etc.. and it turns out they only spent a few hours recording the album, one attempt for each song, and then it was done. Just like that. Making it such influential, vintage work. The best American band of the 60s, by a mile. Sorry Beach Boys.
Velvet & Nico might very well be the best debut ever. Such a superb album.
The Strokes' Is This It must be the best debut of 2000's, non?
