Velvet Underground - Venus In Furs

Still great.
Such an anthemic tune.

Their first album was voted the best debut of all time by Uncut magazine a few months back, I remember reading the review on holiday, and they had a little section describing each song, what they meant, how they recorded it etc.. and it turns out they only spent a few hours recording the album, one attempt for each song, and then it was done. Just like that. Making it such influential, vintage work. The best American band of the 60s, by a mile. Sorry Beach Boys.

Enjoying the new album? I must say the first couple of tracks are superb, but the rest of the album all seems to sound the same. Great to see them stick the 'Let's stray to Brighton for the weekend' song on there, they played that live at the Concorde back in March, and said it was inspired by the city. How great is that?

Na, it was by the Beatles. Nas is a famous hip-hop artist.

Heh, well if he was an idiot, he probably wouldn't know the difference. (Between the na's and the la's).

Well The La's had a fairly successful music career, well more successful than The Na's. So he must be pretty stupid...

Damn you stupid music buying public, you have lost us the best British band for the past 10 years.

Shit like Keane et al make it big and HOTS are ignored. Mark my words in 5/6 years time people will realise what a biig mistake has been made, some goes for the Beta Band!!!!

I don't think I could go that far, not the best band of the last ten years by any stretch. Taking nothing away from them they are good and it's a shame to see them spilt. I agree with Beta Band though ;). Trouble is the music industry is no longer about the music, it's about money...obvious I know but meh...
