View Full Version : Which transfer is best
Both clubs have signed great players but which do you think is the better move by the clubs ? Arsenal look like theyve done it again as Rosicky is cerainly a class act and is only 25. I personally think this move is better because I just think Chelsea are simply buying the best players out there and not thinking about what theyve already got. Ballack is definitely a great player, slightly older at 29, but how will he play along side Lampard ?
To me this is Arsenal improving whereas Chelsea would just be buying more of what theyve already got. Saying that I think Ballack is twice the player Lampard is but Jose has already said that Lampard is his first choice midfielder so how can they both play together ?
Totally unrelated - does everyone check their pm's ?
Arsenal signing Rosicky. Is a great transfer for Arsenal, especially because Rosicky is an amazing midfielder.
Ballack is a great one too, but Chelsea dont need him really. They have Lampard, Essien, Maniche and Makelele in their amazing midfield...so I really dont know why they bought him.
Ok, but like huw140269 said, how will he play along side Lampard?

Rosicky will improve Arsenal more than Chelsea imo.

Rod-sicky (obviously).
I don't really rate Ballack that much, well, definitely not more than Rod-sicky.

i dont know, thats why i voted rosicky
For sheer talent and brilliance, Ballack. Im not saying that Rosicky isnt any good, because he is, but the only thing he has over Ballack, is his age. I think its quite obvious that Ballack is a much better player & all rounder. The 7m for Rosicky on top of his wages is a great deal, well done Wenger, but getting Ballack for free, 130k per week was also a good deal as Ballack is possibly the best, if not 2nd best complete midfielder in the world.
Ballack is the better buy for me.
I could only make a judgement once I've seen both of them play at least 10 games if not the whole season.

He's absolutely sensational, he's a more complete player than Frank that's for certain

Arsenal need Rosicky far more than Chelsea need Ballack. The Czech has more to gain, he will want to prove he can be a star at the top level, and he should fit into our playing style perfectly, therefore Rosicky to Arsenal.

Wise words, from a wise man
Ballack is one of the best midfielders in the world. Chelsea only need two world class strikers to compliment the midfield and then they will have the best team in Europe.
Best players in the world, in my opinion.
1. Ronaldinho
2. Thierry Henry
3. Wayne Rooney
4. Steven Gerrard
5. Michael Ballack

Ballack of course.
Rosicky needs to proves his worth while Ballack is the complete MF player plus they didnt pay a penny for him.
I think Rosicky is the better signing of the two. Ballack is a great player, dont get me wrong, but he is ageing a little, not that will affect his performances for Chelski, but Rosicky is a good prospect, he has already developed into a class player and he really can be a hit for the Gunners if he gets his act together in time for the new season.

I think people are arguing over who is the best rather than whats the best singning.
Ballack is more experienced, hes a leader and he is more suited to the premiership, physically and technically, than Rosicky.

I think that's quite impossible to say at the moment. Ballack could come and fall flat on his face here. I don't think he will but I think we should all reserve judgment till we see them line up for their respective teams.

Arsenal signing Rosicky for me. A player before Liverpool signed Xabi I coverted more than any other. He was all over Holland in the WC and has quality and effort in spades. Ballack although having the quality doesn't have the right attitude and I believe his signing will hinder Chelski in the future.

Wayne is never in the top 5...not yet anyway, Eto'o and Sheva are more clinical than him, give him a couple of years though;)
tbh I think Rosicky will prove to be the wiser buy, Arsenal can strengthen their squad with him...Chelsea will strengthen their squad with Ballack-but they didnt really need him and from what Ive heard hes arrogant so he may cause upsets in the team!
BTW Im surprised Rosicky is only 25...hes been kicking about for years now!

Chelsea are just doing the Real Madrid tatics buy players at the best, and look where that has got Madrid now
I have to say I'm very surprised at the current poll results, for me it is Ballack comfortably.
I don't know a great deal about Rosicky, I've seen bits of him but not that much. But I do know however is that he has very little physical presence and that will not help him much in the Premiership. Also, I'm not sure where he's going to play, but it's most likely to be out wide. He is not a winger, he's an attacking midfielder, and doubt we'll see the best of him on the wing.
Ballack however is perfectly suited for the English game, and Chelsea. He is very similar to Lampard, but I don't think that this is necessarily a bad thing, as they will both be able to play together I feel. They won't have to worry too much about their defensive duties because Makelele is covering, and they can both bomb on and between them, they will score plenty. Also, Ballack will play in his best position and he has the physique and the British-like mentality to succeed.

I beg to differ there, mate.
Jose has bought players that fit well into his system. Although he has inherited his best players (Terry, Gallas, Cech, Lampard, Makelele, etc.), he buys players that work ard and that are willing to fight for the team.
This summer is most probbably going to be the "icing on the cake" singings -
with a star striker, Ballack, and a world class defender.
The thing with Real Madrid is that they wanted to by the best players for every position - we're just buying the best players to complete the machine.
Wayne is never in the top 5...not yet anyway, Eto'o and Sheva are more clinical than him, give him a couple of years though;)
So in your eyes Eto is a much more complete player than The Roon?
Ballack of course.

It's true he was free...but his wages are astronomical!

Wonder if people still feel the same as when they originally votedI certainly do
i think rosicky is the better buy as he was cheep and from what ive seen of them both in the world cup i think rosicky has been the better player. I know its abit unfair just judging on the world cup performance buts thats the only thing i can judge them on as i avent seen them play previously.
Ballack is a complete midifielder and can score goals, Rosicky scored 2 in the Czechs opening game and is a good playmaker, doesnt score as much as he should, but Ballack has it all & in my opinion is the better buy.
I cant believe how well Arsenal kept that Rosicky deal quiet.

well this thread is completely incorrect
*Chelsea did not "buy" Ballack...hence it wasn't a waste of money

Chelsea will only get maybe three years max out of Ballack before he gets too old and starts declining. He won't get any better. Rosicky could get even better, and won't even PEAK for three years. As a long term investment, it's gotta be Rosicky.

I certainly do. Rosicky still for me.
Rosicky's younger, same talent. so rosicky was the best transfer
... Ballack is better.

A lot of jealous fans here hating Chelsea I see. Given the choice any team would take Ballack over Rosicky regardless of their other players.

I'd easily take Ballack over Rosicky. The way Ballack brings people into play is amazing. He's a team player and he's amazing to watch.
Ballack will probably end up as the top goal scoring midfielder next season if he gets to play in his best position.

Ballack is the better player at the moment but there different type of players anyway, but i still think Rosicky will become an even better player at Arsenal so in the long term that transfer will be the best..
