Good luck to him. Time will tell whether he'll make a good manager, but a club like Wycome is the perfect club to start off at.

sacked before the end of the season

He will do well. He was a great captain, he derserves all the luck he gets.

Familymahone, isn't your avatar of that terribly overated teenager? What's his name...

you know what the papers are like. he is destined to win Euro '04 and WC '06 singlehandedly for england OR a) becoming an alco/druggie b) getting crippled making a daft tackle against Roy 'you shouldn't have done that' Keane c) have his throat cut for selling us out to sign or the red shite or finally d) be flogged to moneybags Chelski for a world record fee before having a nervous breakdown from the pressure of the nation. Either way he will be good for us in the next few years when he starts to learn his trade and gets a few matches under his belt (he's only started less than 15 matches for Everton) and has only played the full 90 minutes in half a dozen games or so. It's too early to say as yet.

i think he'll do well initially but will find it hard when/if he manages at a higher level. He never was the sharpest tool in the box but i suppose this is his first chance to prove his critics wrong.

And Alex Ferguson is a sharp tool? No, he is a stupid Jock. He is almost as stupid as Man U fans.

[Who knows most good players don't do well as managers. I hope that our Highbury god does though.

I don't know about other Arses, but I'll be following Wycombe quite intensely now. :)

I wish his the best of luck, naturally.

I'm sure this thought has passed everyone's mind. Maybe in some time, destiny will lead him to Arsenal? It fits nicely, doesn't it? He'll learn the ropes at Wycombe, move them up a division, then in a few years time take Arsenal to CL glory...four times over.

4-1 win in his first game. A good start and I for one hope that he might manage Arsenal if things work out but I would be a bit worried that great players rarely seem to do very well at managing their former clubs. Of course I don't want Wenger leaving either but I hope Tony does really well and will follow his progress.

How did that guy get into Caprice? I'm still trying to work it out. My abiding memory of Adams was the last match of the 97/98 double winning season against Everton when he somehow managed to run the length of the pitch before smashing a sweet half-volley into our net. Who'd have thought big Tony could do that? So I suppose anything is possible.
