As you can see, this file wipes the floor with any other file, it’s the ultimate file to have to go along with the world cup. How to transfer the OF onto you Memory Card/Hard Drive:

Using Xbox Max Drive...
1. Copy the downloaded zip file to the max drive
2. Connect your maxdrive into one of your Xbox controller ports and load up PES5.
3. On the PES5 menu screen, go to Options > PES Data Control > Copy Saved Data. Then select the ‘Change’ option, and select the Datel Max Drive from the list.
4. Select the PES5 Option file present on the max drive, and then choose a slot on your hard drive to save the option file.
5. Once you have saved the file to your xbox hard drive/memory card, return to the main game menu and let play begin!

Using PS2 Max Drive...
1. Download the file
2. Plug the max drive in to the PC
3. Right click on Option File>send to Max Drive,
4. Plug max drive into USB port on PS2
5. Load up Max Drive software for PS2
6. Uncrush to memory card

Using PS2 X-Port...
1. Import the .xps file into your X-Port database using the X-Port software
2. Select and choose the 'Restore' option to transfer the option file onto your memory card.

Using PSP...
Simply drag file onto PSP save file.

Using PC...
1. Download the option file
2. Put the OF in C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\My Documents\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 5\save\folder1
3. Make sure it's called KONAMI-WIN32PES5OPT

Note: If you already have an existing option file on your memory card or hard drive, you will be asked if you want to overwrite it. If your current file is one you might want to go back to then you will want to back the file up first, before transferring this Option File.

If you follow these instructions, you should have no problems.

Q: Where can I get a max drive from?

A: www.play.com is the best place. If you can’t get it from there, ebay is the only other place

I don't play WE10 I'm afraid so unless stuff from this can be converted (unlikely) it won't happen :(

Yeah its good but i think that bluescouse V2 is better.

Oh and if you want it on winning eleven 10 then download the WE9 version, get it on your memory card, start winning eleven 10, go to the thing where you can import data from previous versions of the game, and try that. I haven't tryed it yet, but its worth a shot.

Can I ask where that file is better? Having used it, the only advantage is recent transfers, which will be in my full release in a week, different teams (which you can get with my custom files feature) and the licensed kits edited (which other than Villarreal, is not really necessary)

You can't play a real world cup, stats will not have been as well researched as mine, and it lacks many of the features mine has.

So, where do you think it is better? :)

Well, they are both very good option files. Yours probably has more features, and Bluescouse has tryed to get as many features as he can into his. Bluescouse has already added most of the new kits for next season. Also, as well as adding the promoted teams, he has added a wide variety of teams from around the world:


AEK Athens replace FC Thun
Hearts replace FC Kopenhagen
Sporting Braga replace Djurgardens
Corinthians replace Besiktas
Santos replace Shaktar Donetsk


I like both option files, its just an opinion, but I seem to like Bluescouse's more. I will still use Watson V3 though.

I just remembered you have to make sure that the teams replaced in the patch are the same as the teams replaced in Watson V3 otherwise you will run into some trouble. If they are not the same you will have to change some nationalities and make some transfers (i think).

Bonjour Watson, very good file. I am trying to help you so I noticed a couple of mispellings on club names, donc:

Villarreal (The town is spelled with 2 r's, not 1 as you have)

Olympiakos (Greek language doesn't have/use the letter "c" they use k instead)

Sporting (Although you are correct in that they are technically "Sporting Club de Portugal", they are universally known as "Sporting Lisbon", not Sporting CP.

Deportivo La Coruña - L is capital letter and you need a tilde ~ over the n because "ñ" is a separate letter in Spanish.

Paris Saint-Germain and Saint-Etienne - In French when Saints' names are used for places, a hyphen is inserted between the word Saint and the other name. Voila, c'est Paris Saint-Germain, et Saint-Etienne.

One Question for you if you can answer: I know how to import a kit in the PESFan Editor using the OF2 feature. Can a person also import a player from one option file to another? Does this have to be done 1 player at a time? And if I import a player will it also import the player's appearance?

Yes this is possible. You can either overwrite a player or import a player over a blank slot in the edited section. It will import both the stats and the apperance of the player. The only way to import more than one at a time is to import an entire team, but otherwise no you can't import 2 or 3 separate players at a time. See the help section of the PESFan editor for more info.

Brazil play a quite normal 4-4-2 with emerson as a DMF on the left Ze Roberto on the right as a AMF Kaka en in the middle Ronaldinho with a free role as a AMF. I have watched every qualification match af brazil & they have never played 4-2-4. Argentina also does not play 3-4-3 but 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 pushing Sorin as a left wingback. Also some stats are really unrealistic for example Walcott & Messi. Mesii's dribble speed is much to high as well as his agility. It's treu that they are quite high, but not that high. Thumps up to the appearences thoug...BRILLJIANT!!

Are you sure about these?

Pekerman named his team and it wasn't too dissimilar to that, and for Brazil, will Ronaldinho and Kaka not be more like SS, than AMF

As for Messi, they are PLF's stats and they are very accurate IMO- I trust him fully :)

For Walcott, they are my own, and I think they are fairly accurate, he is incredibly fast and my file reflects that, and the rest of his abilities are more moderate

Excellent work, the only thing I perfer about WSAG Evolution's option file is that it includes Boca Juniors and River Pilate, although otherwise this is easily the best option file I have seen.

One small request: Can you change Nou Camp to Camp Nou for future versions? It's not very difficult to change it myself but it's the perferred name.

Im a PS2 user and so far ive tried a few times with the max option file and Togo & Angola and the other new teams dont appear in the team selection screen but i checked "edit" and the players for those teams are there.

Ive deleted my previous option file and tried again but it doesnt seem to work for me.

hey, nice option file, can u change the newcastle colours to there right colour,
eg. HOME: 5 stripes on the front and 5 on the back and not just 2 big ones. one on the back and 1 on the front, and also the gold letters and numbers,

AWAY: 5 stripes on the front and 5 on the back (the kits are in the right colours just wrong patterns or wateva u want to call it) the letters and numbers are fine on the away shirt.

just suggesting on how to make it even better.

I got my max drive about 6 months ago and when I first started useing it it was fine, I could download an option file no sweat.

But I tryed to download your V2 option file a couple of weeks back and it would come up on the PC but when I tryed to get it on my memory card there was nothing there on the max drive.

I dont know if this has anything to do with it but when I first got it the file would look like this on the PC.........

Make sure to always use the Uncrush option to send max drive files to the mem card, rather than copying or moving. What the file looks like shouldn't matter. It may also be worth deleting your existing option file first (after backing it up just in case).

It was only players who retired throughout the season, like Umit Davala etc

Pekerman named his team and it wasn't too dissimilar to that, and for Brazil, will Ronaldinho and Kaka not be more like SS, than AMF

As for Messi, they are PLF's stats and they are very accurate IMO- I trust him fully :)

For Walcott, they are my own, and I think they are fairly accurate, he is incredibly fast and my file reflects that, and the rest of his abilities are more moderate

The appearances I'm very pleased with :)


From Brazil I am sure & of course they will act up as ss at times, but that's why the Manual strategy available. Also Ronaldinho has a really different role then the role he has is in Barcelona. he has a absoulte free role in Brazil where he very often comes & picks the ball up en then starts the attack.

With Messi I have to disagree with the PLF's stats I can only agree with his high Agility & Acceleration. the other stats need to really be looked at again.

Appreciate u liking Walcott, I think he is a very good player too:) . But still not that good YET!

Yesterday, Djibril CISSE broke his right leg (the left one was broken one year ago !). He is now replaced by Sidney GOVOU from Lyon.

So, in France we don't know what will be the team strategy: one or two attackers (HENRY sure, but maybe TREZEGUET) ? will RIBERY begin the match ? Will VIEIRA play at center or at right ?

classy option file no doubt about that but there are tons of transfers you have neglected. even the big ones. sheva to chelsea, ballack to chelsea, kalou, mikel. etc.
but still this file is as good as it gets :happy: simply world class

Villarreal (The town is spelled with 2 r's, not 1 as you have)

In my game (WE9 INT NTSC-N.America Xbox), I can't edit the names/emblems, & sometimes kits for most of the officially licensed teams (Real Madrid for instance; the options are just "grayed-out"). Not sure if this is the case for PES too.

Even when i boot up my game w/o any option file loaded, I still can't edit teams like Villarreal etc.

How did he change this? How can I fix it?

(I know I can use the "save data management" feature to copy aspects of another option file over to this Watson file but the names & kits copy simultaneously so I would lose the Watson kits to get the amended names...)

Okay here we go, I downloaded the option file, and this is what the max drive file looked like.....

Then I took the max drive out of the PC and tput it into my PS2, waited a while like you said then selected the max-drive icon from my devices and this is what heppened.......

Nah dont do that just download PESfan editor so you can edit the option file and just import the players from one OF to another simple as that

Its pretty simple mate. He will have the optionfile on his memory card then he will use the PS2 browser to copy it onto your memory card then he will send it back.

In the WSAG OF you have more edited teams.
Corinthians, River Plate, Boca Junior, new french teams like Sedan ...
But you don't have the 4 new world cup national teams (Togo, Ghana, ... ).

In the Watson file you have more appearences, transfers are done.

I prefer the Watson OF.

But a good thing would be to create Corinthians and River Plate instead of Djugardens and Kopenhagen.
And it's interesting to play with the new WC national teams, but it would be better to overwrite a few -21 national teams to create them rather than other national teams like Morocco, South Africa, ...

It's fun to play with Young Brazil because they have great players.
Young Argentina is World champion and Young Netherlands are European champion.
But the 4 other -21 national teams could be overwritten (France, England, Germany and Italy).

Both files are good, Watson's world cup teams are awesome, but , I dont like that thing of overwriting the national teams to create the 4 missing(angola, ghana, togo, trinidad) they can be edited only partially (names and flags stay the same), also he didnt edit some other countries kits, I like Bluescouses better because of this, he didnt change any country in the game, also he edited ALL the unlicensed kits in the game, and some licensed too.

It won't work, because it's a .bin/.cue OF only for PS2.
There is no OF in .bin/.cue for PSP (at least I don't see it anywhere).

That's because this OF came out just before the World Cup, and Totti only revealed his new haircut in Italy's first game against Ghana I think.

I am playing the FIFA World Cup with 2 users (me and a buddy). I am Italy and my buddy is Portugal. Once we set up all 32 teams, we get to the part with the UNIFORM SELECT screen. This is where the problem is!!!!

After making the uniform selections to my team (and the CPU's team), the game loads to my buddy's match instead on mine. As a result, we are forced to play his match with the CPU selected uniforms. This is a problem because we are often playing against a team with the same colour uniform.

When we play the International CUp without Watson's or WSAG Option file, we never have a problem selecting uniforms. The proper match loads after selecting the uniforms and it works perfectly.

Anyone else playing a multiplayer World Cup using these 2 option files? Any explanations why this is happening?

Ghana are on it, you just can't change the name of the country or the flag. Everything else like the players names and appearances can be, you can also change the players nationality in the pesfan editor. Check his first post to see which team he wrote over.

Am I flipping or are players faster and game also faster on your optionfile? It somehow feels more quicker. If you've made changes to them can I somehow turn players slower?

hi..im currently using WATSONS newest option file, and im really enjoying it. the enjoy complaint i have is the commentary still says the original team names. for example, instead of announcing "manchester united" the commentator will still say "man red" which is the original konami team. is there a way to change the commentary so he will say manchester united?

i also dont want another patch that has commentary updates along with other stuff, like kits, etc., because that will just conflict with my current watsons of. is there a way i can fix the commentary without touching anything else in the game? thanks!

Since the Serie A is licensed, isn't it impossible to take them out of the League mode? But in Master League you can choose what teams you want in the league (with the Master League compsition puchased from the PES shop).

Btw, would it be possible to have an option file with current transfers but with the classic players and teams intact instead of the U-21 teams? Because I'd like to have George Best in my team again (had him when I played ML with PESFAN v2 file). I've also pondered about playing ML with all the ManU legends that are available as classic players (Best, Charlton, Cantona).

Thanx a bunch for an awsome optionfile. I for one will always use the Watson file as the WSAG Evolution file has excluded my team FC Copenhagen. Yeah well it's not the greatest team in the world, but it's my team.
Anyways I am really looking forward to the update as some of the transfers this summer are really interresting resulting in almost new teams for Chelsea, Juventus, Real Madrid etc. So the question goes: When will the update be done? I mean there is proberbly no point in releasing it prior to the closing of the transfer window, but when is that? And will this mark the release of the next version?

As a long-time PES fan who's spent hours inputting all the _real_ names, the combination of accurate line-ups and inspired shirt-editing is really a wonder to behold. I think I'll hold off buying the new Pro Evo until it comes out for PS3, so I'm particularly looking forward to the 4th version of the patch with the 06/07 shirts -- but I hope you enjoy your summer and that no-one on the thread will begrudge you a well-earned break. Well, it may be so, but my V3 and BlueScouse's V2.5 are still very good files and whilst not totally up to date, are still very enjoyable to play with

You have to bear in mind the amount of work necessary to produce these files and that I don't want to be doing this the whole summer so a manageable time limit is set on it, you'll get roughly two months playing time out of this file, which is a fair bit

The point is that for 6-7 weeks we get to play PES 5 with a fantastic Option file that has not been rushed, and longer if like me you have to wait until 2007 for the American release of WE 10. Use another Option file if the wait bothers you so much.

Plus, PES 6 will let you import PES 5 Option files the same way PES 5 lets you import PES 4 Option files so none of the work is wasted.... you're not the sharpest tool in the shed, are you?

Watson can you tell me what I would need to make "Ukraine" have a badge on there kits like in this post below. I will try to make it myself just need to be pointed in the right direction. THX

You would just need to find someone who can make logos to put in the game, and provide them with a good image of the badge, and then its just a case of putting it in
