Dudes at this stage now we can start talking about our stats. I think everyone should try get the most out of where they are playing on the pitch and not get carried away with giving points out in areas where it isn't a priority. Be the best you can be in your position!!!!

Maybe we can set rules for things like teamwork and so on where we have to have a minimum of 85 or so on.

How about giving people a total amout of point, say 1000 for example, and then split the points where needed. Or, base the number of points a person should get on the amount of posts they make in the team's thread (e.g. 20 points for a post).

I think we have to go about this in a logical way this season.

People can mould their players in whichever way they want but each position needs certain strenghts and these abilities should be focused on.

Firstly, i think everyone should assign, at least, 85 on teamwork.

Defenders should not waste points on attacking skills. I'm not saying don't put anything there but make defensive skills a priotity. Balance and stamina are probably the most important, apart from defense, obviously. Top speed and acceleration are aslo musts as you will all be dealing with quick forwards.

I think that agression is a must for the forwards. It doesn't only apply when you are in possesion so it is good for defenders as well. They chase the ball more agressively which isn't necessarily a good thing as they will leave gaps in the back. Anyway, i think people playing forward should have at least 94, 99 if possible. This ensures that they take long range shots and they don't wait until the last possible second to strike. It's also a good way to counter the low defense ratings as they will harrass the opposition constantly. I have also noticed that forwards with 99 attack and 99 agression are the most dangerous so i would recommend they assign that much to those skills. Giving 99s to shot power, accuracy and technique is not as important imo. You will always end up missing wether you have 80 or 99. Not as often, obviously, but the odds aren't that far apart.

Sidebacks should try to mix it up between attacking skills and offensive ones. They should focus on top speed and acceleration because they will be going back and forth a lot and also do not neglect long passing. I have seen plenty of goals scored with sidebacks crossing it into the area. They can be very effective when they overlap with the SMFs.

Side midfielders should also focus on long passing, speed snd shooting skills as well. Side special ability seems like it should be a must here but i haven't noticed any extreme changes when i have given this to my player.

As Dundon's said, each player needs to be tailored. You can make the player anyway you want, it wouldn't be fun otherwise, but i think it is best to use some of these basic guidelines. Anyhow, when you make your player you should test him. In the past many people have only just put the abilities together without even trying him out...

Outfield players Rules
1: 18 players per team
2: 2000 point limit for outfield players. 30 points minimum for all attributes bar goalkeeper skills which can be 1
3: Only three attributes within the 95-99 range are allowed.
4: Only four attributes allowed within the 90-94 range allowed.
5: 18 points for other attributes (consistency, weak foot etc.) the minimum being 2 points only.
6: Two positions only then each additional position costs 15 points from your attributes, then 30, then 60 and so on.
7: Your player may have four special abilities if his injury constitution is A, five if it is B and six if it is C.

Sounds about right to me. I'd originally done the stats with maximum 1800 and they seemed alright but maybe a little over the top, so 1700 I reckon would be just about right :)

I think 1700 would be a bit much for keepers. At the moment I think keepers max is 1400 which I think is fine.

There's no need to have 60 freekick either dude, you can use the minimum of 30 rule as we'll be giving someone the job of taking all of them.

True. Anything you are not using HP like FK's or shooting can be dropped and added into other stats to help you as a DMF.

For sure dude, if you are not taken the FK's then leave it at 30 as it is only a waste of points that you could use somewhere else. ;)

I was modifying my stats earlier, and had my free kick accuracy, curling, and all shooting stats on 89. Is that enough, or do you want 2 players with 90+ for those stats?

I think I can be par for the job in all honesty. I'm not the tallest of people so it wouldn't obstruct a tall CB or DMF making a dash into the box to win the header if the ball is crossed. I have a fairly powerful shot in real life, well a thunderous one without sounding big-headed.

Should we have one for short range and one for long-range or just one player to take both ?

I'd say you could drop the shot tec and work on getting your dribble speed upto around the 70 mark. Maybe you could even balance the speed/accel with the dribble more so. Part from that I really like the player. :cool:

I noticed that dragonfly already has very high stats in that department and would only need to raise his FK ACC and Curling. Maybe you could (if you wantdd that is) drop your speed and few other things down a bit.
