Taking off Riquelme and not putting Messi on will haunt him for the rest of his career.
Should've put Saviola on not Messi (although even Messi would have been a much better option than Cruz). I'm sure he believes he did the right thing.
Well, im shocked about that but he shouldv'e played Messi.

Not taking Javier and Samuel will haunt him. ;) Heinze was a joke, along with Scaloni and Coloccini at right back.
Whatever the case, I hope he never comes near a team I enjoy watching.
well i thought he would of put messi on the pitch when they got the goal. but they never so there you go.. anyway well done to Germany.

Nah he made too many mistakes
Pekerman is shit and has rightfully resigned

He is not shit. He made big errors in this match, but he led the team well through the rest of the games. And even though he made those big errors, Germany only won on penalties.
I think he is a coward, to fuck up Argentina's chances and then to just run off just shows what a pussy he is.
He'd have been sacked on his return to Argentina anyway though. When Bielsa wasn't sacked, the media were just waiting to criticise him time after time until he left. Pekerman has tried to save some of his credibility.
Taxi for Pekerman

Cheers I am promptly sprinting out
Playing Tevez on Friedrich as well, if you put him on Mertesacker or the other lamppost he would 've casued much more.
He's still a good coach.

I thought the thread said "Pokerman"

But Germany played a fecent match, didnt they? Liked their attacks:D
Sad to see him leave the team, as it's a good coach.
He was the coach of the young teams for a bunch of years and won a bunch of prizes with them and that team consisted of pretty much the players that shall play for Argentina in the (near future), so he has built up a nice good squad.
Also, Argentina played some of the best football in this World Cup, and to go out against the hosts Germany after a penalyty shootout, isnt something to be ashamed of.
I too cant understand why Messi wasnt playing. Maybe it's something ersonal, or a slight injury, or a worry about an injury, or he just felt others would do better... but even then we saw a good squad this tournament.
I understand him taking Riquelme off, as the Germans did the mart thing all match long by pretty much isolating and eliminating Requelme (as far as I could so, but to be fair I was also having dinner while watching, so I wasnt as focussed on the match as I normally would be...)
Perhaps he made some subbings that didnt work out, but his squad has shown some great football this tournament, and if it was our national coach, I wouldnt want him to leave now...

A pornographic superhero.
Oh my God that woman has two broken arms and has no means of self pleasure, Fear not folks for Pekerman is here.
In your hour of (sexual) need, who ya gonna call.....
I still don't see any possible reason for bringing on Cruz. Even if it was because of his 'aerial threat' there was no point bringing him into play as both German central defenders are taller than him.
Argentina set out a completely wrong game plan. Playing the passing game, trying to carve your way through the Germans wasn't going to work. Both the goals Germany had conceded until that game were from breakaways. Good idea to start with Tevez as his pace and dribbling abilities are ideal for breaks, but they just didn't play the way that would be most efficient.
Pekerman just played into the Germans hands by bringing on Cruz instead of Messi.

I think one reason Cruz was on was to hold up the ball and waste time.
I would have put Messi on for Riquelme. It would have gave the Germans something completely different to handle. Also he would have drawn a lot of free-kicks which they could use to kill time, but it was just meant to be Germany's day.
Why Cruz though? Savoila would of been a better choice

Pekerman took a wrong decision by quitting. He now has a bad memory about his last big tournament with Argentina. He could better bring somee good results on the table at the American Cup, or another World Cup. Then, quit. At least you'll have some good memories of your last matches. Now, that missed penalty is gonna haunt him for the rest of his life:no:
