This section will not only contain a sticky thread containing the player values for every active player in the Fantasy League, but will also be where you sign "free agent" players.

From this point forward, the free agent system is no longer. Once the transfer window opens, if you are interested in signing an available player, you should post a thread in this section, with the full name of the player in the thread title. Highway Penguin or I will then post a value for the player. The figures will vary, but are likely to remain cheap (estimate - 1-5m)

The thread starter would get first rights on the player, and can sign the player anytime within a 48 hour period, but if, after being informed of the fee, they decide not to sign the player, or after the 48 hour period has passed, any other manager is free to sign them for the named price.

If you have any questions regarding this, feel free to ask in the 'Fantasy League Talk Thread'.

Dragonfly's free agents idea will go ahead. To try to put it as simple as possible, you can now use a squad players value to decrease the fee you have to pay for a free agent, or swap them for free.

i.e. If one of your squad players is worth 4m, and a free agent is rated at 5m, you can sign the free agent for 1m, in a swap for the squad player.

However, if your squad player has an equal or higher valuation than the free agent, you may swap them free of charge.

In line with this new ruling, you can expect the free agents fees to be increased to more realistic figures, in some cases. Generally, this won't have a huge bearing on things, but you can expect the better free agents out there to cost a little more now.

You can start signing free agents at 9pm (according to the forum clock). Any threads before then will be deleted.

Do not post consecutive threads, you should wait until another manager has posted a thread before opening another thread or if a manager has not posted a thread within 1 minute of the time you opened a thread, you may post a second consecutive thread.

The only exception here is if you are picking players for more than 1 manager. In which case, you can start consecutive threads, providing they are all for different managers.

There are a couple of new rules which will take immediate effect...

From now on, you can make a maximum of 3 'Free Agent' enquries every 24 hours.

If you want to sign a released player, you have 24 hours (rather than 48) to do so.

A reminder that you can start signing 'Free Agents' in this forum section (and this section only) from 8pm tomorrow, UK time. If you pick a player anytime before that (even if it's 7.59), the thread will be deleted.

Between 8pm-10pm (during the busiest period), once you have posted a player value thread, you must wait for another manager to post a thread, before you can do so again, so no manager will be allowed to post consecutive threads during that period.

If you are posting on the behalf of more than one manager, please clearly state that in the thread title or opening line of the post. In this instance, you can post consecutive threads, but only by posting a thread for yourself and then for someone else.

i.e You cannot sign a player for yourself, then for someone on their behalf, and then for yourself again. Having signed for yourself and for someone else, you would then have to wait for another manager to post an enquiry, before you can post another thread for yourself or for someone else.

You can make a maximum of 3 'Free Agent' enquries every 24 hours.

There's also one new rule to take note of:

If you want to sign a released player, you must sign them instantly. You cannot reserve the player for 24 hours. You will know their transfer fee, so will have to decide whether you want to sign them, without having first rights on them and stopping/delaying other interested managers from signing them.

Please be patient when you're waiting for a player to be valued, especially in the opening couple of days, when we're likely to be overloaded with them.

They'll be done as quickly as possible, but sometimes it's necessary to do some research on a player, rather than give them a fee off the top of our head, so it may take a little longer. If you've waited over 24 hours for a player to be valued, PM myself (or Cranie or HP if either of them are online at the time) as we may have missed the thread, or forgotten to value the player, and we'll then get on the case asap.

Remember to check the 'Player Values' thread to confirm whether the player you are interested in is available. I spent some time recently making sure that thread is fully up to date, so it should contain every player in each squad, and be completely updated.

If you have any queries about any of the above, you can post in the FL Talk Thread or PM me, and i'll explain further.

EDIT: The 48 hour rule for free agents still apply, it's only the released players ruling that has changed.

Also, to clear this up, threads containing released players do not count towards the limit of 3 enquiries per day, as such a thread should only be to confirm you're signing a released player, not to enquire about their fee.
