Anybody got any tips on how to best develop promosing players?

What attributes do you build up first? How many games do you have before you can stop developing the players?

Any info greatly appreciated.

To get the most points the player needs to play every game and preferably the full 90 mins. You also seem to get more points if you win.

In view of this it is best to get stamina to 99 and also train their stability to max so they can play consecutive games without getting tired.

On pes2 you seemed to get about 1 season to train them, but I am not about pes3.

Thanks for that, sounds like common sense.
How is the points system broken down, I know its something to do with playing whole matches, and playing in a winning side etc.

i bought Ibsen, he's an 18 year old norwegian striker and now plays regularly instead of Ronaldo!!! i was skeptical as to how good you can get them at first, but he's excellent now.

like the man said, put his stamina and conditioning up a bit so he lasts full matches then add what you think is most important 1st (e.g striker=shot power, technique, balance, heading) then add to other attributes when you've got the basics sorted out!

Thanks again, Ibsen is the player that I've bought. Had PES2 but never bothered to try the promising players bit. Quite like the idea of it now though.

Yeah, he's good, i've heard loads of good things about Pilniak and Lavisse too, prob buy them next!

i think you get Ibsen for a substantial time. hope you do with others too. bought a goalie who i trained for 1 or 2 matches, how stupid is that?

Petipa is the player I've been able to train for most games. Piliniak gets pretty far. Van gogh, Turner, Raimondi are players which you shouldn't waste your time on.

The players get more points the higher rating they get in a game.

the goalie i was on about is Goya, he's rubbish!! I've got Lavisse and Hugo now, one's a Centre back, one's a Defensive Midfielder, how do you train them up? they hardly touch the ball! do goals still affect them or is it tackles and stuff?

Both probably, since both tackling and scoring gives the player a higher rating.

som1 please give me som advise ! on my master league the promising players that i have bought dont seem to train up very much because after i get 3 of the stats up to 99 they don't appear in my training list anymore. how do i make them last for a while so that i can get more 99's on their stats?
thanks

Cheers Frostbound!

DBLPool, i dont know if there is anything you can do! my understanding is each player has a predetermined amount of time and it changes from player to player!

mine is Ibsen and he's is 90 or above in everything, and 99 in most striker stats (such as shot power, accuracy etc...) but i didn't have enough time to give him any stars (special abilities) they cost 25 points each

yeah, he's a bit special, i play him instead of Ronaldo most games! dont need to rest him often either, top conditioning (7 i think)!! top scorer! if you persever with them, they can become world class

Yes, I have similar stats with Kivi and Piliniak, And they keep Shevchenko and Recoba out of the first team.

Only problem is, they become a bit too good and it's not so fun. They can pull off the most difficult shots with full power and get them top corner, they can cross perfectly all the time at full speed with their wrong foot, they can do that flick up and volley thing a lot in training, and they can outrun anyone.

Oh and also, Kivi is only like 186 cm and Piliniak is only 170 or something so they don't get to all the headers, even though their Header and Jump stats are 99.

MatPhillips

if you created a player that could do that you would feel that the sense of fun had gone, but you EARNED that players ability. so its still cool

Anyone know the exact amount of games you get with each player? I'm considering trying Lavisse because I want an allround cbt and many have recommended him. Or I might just start all over with a new team and fill it with youths.

I Trained Up A Striker Piliniak But I Totaly Trained Him Up To Be Pure Pace And Skill,

His Attributes Are Roughly

Speed 99
Drib Speed 99
Skill 99
Drib Skill 99
Power 99
Shot Acuracy 99
So Really I Pumpeed All The Attributes In More Attacking
Skills And He Is Emence Im Now Doing The Same For My Keeper But In Goalkeeping Terms

Is there any point in getting promising players and training them up? i mean, you have to have a crap player in your team each game instead of say Owen or Ronaldo etc, thus making the game not as good. by the time you have got their stats up (no idea how long this takes by the way!) you will have earnt enough points to go and buy a quality striker.

Correct me if I am wrong people....

Lavisse is still a promising player for me and I bought him at the beginning of division 2 now im in division 1 with 3 or 4 games to go. I got less than half a season with petipa.

MatPhillips
28-11-2003, 00:02
there is a point to it, cos when you've done it, the players are probably a better, more consistant all round player than Ronaldo etc...

28-11-2003, 00:45
But in the mean time you have to play with a crappy player in your team for ages, meaning one of your stars doesnt play. Not too sure about it myself.

MatPhillips
28-11-2003, 23:26
depends if you can get away with it, a defender, its probably not worth it cos he'll concede loads and be ripped to shreds on harder levels. but with Ibsen (striker) i switched to 4-3-3 and played two stronger strikers and give the odd pass and goal to build him up along the way. for me it only takes 4 games to make him less of a liability-
1st match put his stamina way up,
2nd put his speed way up
3rd technique
4th passing.
then he is usable while you add all the other things, they were my tactics anyway

i got piliniak on mostly 99's and about 6 or 7 skills and hes class but i got melo and he stopped improving half way through the season. i think points are given out on performance more then result

A good plan when you buy a new promising player is to only play them for 30mins. This is the minimum amount to get a rating. if you play a few quick passes with the player before you take him off it should improve his rating a bit - if you win the game you still get 6-7.5.

rating = points.

this way you can still improve the player without having him cluttering up your side for the whole game.

MatPhillips
05-12-2003, 18:01
yeah, but why not play them for 90 score a hatrick and get 8.5-9.5 rating?

How do u get the promising players???

MarkyP
12-12-2003, 00:29
I am sure they get points for scoring, assist and just playing. Mind u they are bound to be different. It is a bit unfair if your promising young keeper can only get points for appearance since he is unlikely to be knocking them in from the corners :D

As for chosing the stats. Choose the ones which will benefit his position. If he is a striker you'll want some sort of speed with shot accuracy aswell as what has been mentioned. As for a defender, I suppose heading and defencive qualities are more admirable.

Just my opinion :)

I'm training a promising player for the first season in PRO SOCCER 3 and its Lavisse. In Pro SOCCCER 2 i used to get about 50-60 avg for every played i trained, but in this i only get 24 points per game and i win by a very big margin. he does play every game. Why do i get less points, is it coz he's a defender, and attackers would get more. Please HELP!!!!!!

Backdoor, the point of training players is when you start out in Div2 on 5* and do not have the money to buy Owen and Recoba. I bought Pepita (OMF), Ibsen (CF), Eliot (LB) and Stanley (CB) in my first season. Pepita has turned into one of the best players in the game with all stats >90, while Eliot is a very useful left back. Ibsen and Stanley are not fantastic, but still do a job when they come on as subs in my WEFA Championships winning Ipswich team!

99 for all striker stats and has strikers' stars too.

I played Petipa for a whole match, scored a few and assisted a few, and got a 10.0! My first ever. He got a fair few points for that match.
