I've been asked to do this!!

Heskey, faster, stronger, better header of the ball, overall better.

28-08-2006, 12:14
Neither for me but forced to have one probably Crouch, Heskey is the size of a baby rhino but has the balance of a baby deer.

Heskey based on the fact Crouch is shit.

Heskey is a donkey

and Crouch ROBOT DANCES

This is worse than asking me who was the better Milan goalkeeper - Zeljko Kalac, Dmitris Eleftheropoulos or Ferdinando Coppola (they're all fucking useless).

It's almost like asking would I prefer aids or cancer. Or would I prefer Sprouts or turnip. Or would I prefer Michelle Mcmanus or Lisa Riley. A tough awkward question, well done.

Barry

Oh God Sweey that's awful

Crouch is far better than Heskey, no idea how he ever got a call up for the England squad. Since Crouch scored his 1st goal for Liverpool he has really come along. He's become one of the best strikers in the Premiership...he's good in the air, his height causes unbelievable problems for all defenders and he has great footwork at times.

28-08-2006, 14:31
Crouch isnt as totally shite and useless as some people make him out to be, but I also dont think he's one of the nation's best strikers.
Hesky... I dont know what to make of him TBH. He's been both very very good (couple of seasons back I believe) and also very mediocre...

Just get Walcott in there and give him chance. Owen got his chance and took it, and now Walcott should get the same chance. He seems like a good player.

He's 3rd best at Liverpool alone.

Yeah but Liverpool do have some good players which makes it understandable that Crouch is only 3rd best. Stupid Liverpool we were linked with Kuyt I wish we had him, he's awesome. Oh well we managed to get Martins but still would have been great to have both of those big names in our squad especially with Owen out for a while.

Cannon ball
28-08-2006, 14:58
Owen will never play for England again.

Owens past it, once he lost his speed he become a medicore striker

No way, Owen hasn't even lost his speed. He is still a great striker and I predict he will very much play a part in Steve McClaren's future plans.

wrigh2uk
28-08-2006, 15:07
Owen hasn't lost his speed..... LMAO

You go on you tube and look at the goal owen scored in the FA cup final against Arsenal and tell me he can still do that

Owen at Liverpool and Owen at Necastle are two very different people mate

Cannon ball
28-08-2006, 15:13
Owen is crocked, he will never get back to that Liverpool form again, all those injuries have taken there toll. I remember watching Liverpool v Newcastle last season at Anfield and Owen was invisible, I had to be reminded he was actually playing. And lets not forget all the other England strikers: Rooney, Crouch, Bent, Defoe, Johnson, Ashton. Owen is way down the England striking list.

retro_flames
28-08-2006, 15:15
Well if Owen is no longer good enough for the England squad then I would have to back Ashton to play along side Rooney.

greenegg
28-08-2006, 15:45
Haha I love the way this has turned into a Owen bashing thread. Owen when fully fit is still a predator and will still score goals but the question is will he be fit again fully?

I would not rate Crouch as Liverpools 3rd best player at all, More like this.

Steven Gerrard
Xabi Alonso
Jamie Carragher

When Dirk Kuijt is firing all cylinders and Bellamy is terrorising defences, Crouch will be forgotten.

I'm talking about the effort he puts into the team and how long he's been there you dick head. You name me the 3rd best player for Liverpool then except for Momo who I rate highly but has only been there a fucking year.

Definitely Maybe
28-08-2006, 19:38
Owen is shite. Hes finished. Total crock.

Has anyone got Crouch's stats since he scored his first goal for Liverpool? It took him ages to do it, but since then I reckon his goals to games ratio is better than people give him credit for.

Because of his height he'll always be a threat. Its cool to slag off Crouch so he'll never win some people over, but hes a canny player imo, and a different option in the squad.

Heskey is absolute toilet mind.

GuyP

Crouch obviously

...but considering his goal record, people should be encouraging Owen not saying he is finished...

Greaseball and dickhead - wow you really are on a roll now.

I want to ask you one question - how many times did you see Liverpool play last year ?

Encouraging him? I hardly think posting "Come on Michael, you can do it" on a message board is going to glue his leg back together is it?

GuyP

Nah, but you know what i mean. It all gets in the media though...fucking hell this is the top England scorer over the last 8 years...

He has plenty of goals left in him. He's had lengthy injuries before (not as long as this but long).

Heskey is alright, he's just a bit shit, slow and past it. He has reached rock bottom and is showing signs that he is starting to dig. Crouch wins my vote, not a great lad but his ability in the air will always be a threat.

Crouchs goal scoring record of late (i.e 40 odd games is 1 in 2).

Crouch has 4 goals in 3 and 1 sub appearance this season.

Crouch.

Who knows what Owen's knee is going to be like when he comes back (probably fucked) but when he did play last season he scored 7 goals in 10 games for us in the league now that's hardly shite is it. He's just had to change his game and become more of a predator, none of those English strikers Cannon Ball mentioned can match Owen's nack of being in the right place at the right time and his predatory instincts.

Owen was fucking awful during the World Cup because the cunt wasn't match fit and he has no one but himself to blame for that after claiming he was fit for a month before the end of the season but wouldn't help us to fight for a European place the cunt.

GuyP

Look at Owen's goals.

West Ham - One header, One tap in
West Brom - One volley in the box, One sliding in tap in?
Man City - Slight sprint and tapped finish past keeper
Blackburn - Header

Man City is debatable and i cant remember his other West Ham one but he didnt really use pace last season.
