In the edit mode you can change the free-kick style in order to take them different ways. There's the normal one, Carlos special and also a standing freekick with no run up. Out of all these which is the best one? I normally use the A type (normal one) but I have used the standing one (D type I think) to great effect over the last few nights. I find it easier to use more accurate players with plenty of power rather than bend for the standing ones.

i use B, E or F, i score free kicks often and consistantly, but its up to you and what your comfortable with

I think that B is the easiest to use.

Is B the big Carlos run-up or is that C? I've never managed to EVER score one of those as it's just off-putting with the mammoth run-up. Anyone putting together a list of all free-kick types?, I'm not at home at present.

ive done this before...

A=standard
B=high follow through
C=carlos style
D=side-on run up
E=beckham style
F=flick follow through (robert style?)

i like F, its new and it works.

with carlos, i pulled off a different free kick. from 28 metres, with the wall on the left hand side, i aimed to the right of the goals, away from the post. i powered up to about half way holding forward. as he struck the ball i pressed r1 and left. it curled into the far corner. Sexy!

scored a pretty bizarre free-kick last night, it was from 45 yards out and I just pumped the ball up to my big CF - he went up for it with the keeper, they both missed it and it sailed into the net 1-0.

I've managed a couple from about 37m with Carlos, usually get them reasonably close.. just aim a good bit to the left, hold forward (and R1?) and get the power bar just over half way. Plenty of curl to the right and it'll go close (maybe!)
