First off it was a really classic game and will be remembered for a long time for the drama at the end. Now more about the gam itself, I didn't feel we deserved to lose it simpley because of te chances we created.
Good points:
Midfield created lots of chances
Reyes looks excellent and took his goal fantastically, Dundons took his well also.
We got a 2nd leg to win this thing out right which I have full confidence in us doing.
Bad Points:
Keeper was poor for a couple of the goals
Defense didn't really gel
New boys didn't play half as good as can going by what I seen in the practise games.
P.S. Lets just put this whole thind behind us and make up for it by taking 3 points off our next game, which so happens to be?

My notes:
-Both keepers were a bit suspect at times with one-on-ones.
-I don't really think we can play with just a 3 man defence against an opposition with 3 attackers.
-Haribo is suspect on long balls, but is good at tracking down opposition and making vital blocks and interceptions. And let's hope he never takes a free kick of any sort again :tongue:
-Midfield was a bit too jam packed at times. Not as much width as I'd have hoped.
-Two defenders always seemed to chase after the same ball.
-Dundon's/Reyes was a good partnership
-Pretty even game in the end, unlucky to lose as we had a disallowed goal right at the death, and there was an amazing double save to prevent Dundon's at one point.

That's a good summary of things dude. All we need to do in the next game is score a goal or 2 over the 90 minutes and not concede. I don't see that as too much to ask for now do you?
We'll start talking tactics in our private area over on WEM ASAP as I have a few ideas I'd like to throw across, also if any of you have a killer tactic that's working well in your practice games let me know about it and we'll look at our options here. The more people that play test formations the more likely we are to finally get the right one that suits our best posters/players because as you can see I really tried to work everyone into the last formation as best I could which may of not been a good idea, but hey what can you do right?

Getting back to the game I though Reyes took his goal very well, his change of direction was well strange looking if you've been watching previous games in the past. I'm also delighted with my player edits I done in the mid season, he looks way more skillful now which was the plan.
I'm also bring Tinkerbell back in goal as she's been one of our best players so far this season with the peno save last week and all.

If you see the formation Rafa is covering the left and Hunter is a natural left back, but we didn't have that kind of cover down the right hand side where Haribo was playing. If we're gonna play 3-5-2 again at some point I suggest having two wing backs.

Hp came on for Fluke late in the game, that's a tough break for Fluke coz I know the lad was really fired up for this game and even saw himself scoring, it's really ironic that the goal came from his position on the pitch though.
Check out the clothes line from hell I gave Rafa to help create the space for the goal. :ninja:

Dude them highlights don't do us justice, we were excellent and really passed the ball around well through out the 90.
That's also 2 clean sheets in a row so the backline seemed to have found their feet too which is great coz of the timing and the run in coming up soon. Next game we have to worry about it the return leg in the Fedaykin match.

Dude the cup formations were to be in on Sunday rather than Wednesdays like they normally are and I wasn't aware of it, this meant we had to use the original tactics from the first leg.
I don't mind the tie turned out to be the game of the season and good auld Fluke broke his duck and slotted one in.
P.S. Anyways I think this year is more about the league for us and I'm kinda delighted for Fedaykin who haven't been getting the results they deserved most of the time in the league week in week out.

Ya some of our passing makes us look like the Arsenal of the league. Flukes goal was some team effort.
Next game we'll be getting rid of that dodgy formation forever mate and tinker will be back in goals so you can look forward to some more clean sheets.

I have been very very impressed with our passing as of late really looking good and as Dud's said we are looking like the Arsenal of the league. A huge improvement from the start of the season when we couldn't string a few passes together, looked garbage.

Thanks man my player is playing like Bergkamp in his prime there a few years back which is how I modeled him when I was re editing his stats in the mid season. This just shows that tweaking a play makes a massive difference that shouldn't be taken for granted. Early season my player was even getting subbed and wasn't doing anything for me in terms of what I had expected him to do, but now I'm just enjoying my football and loving the league this year on a personal level too which is extra super.
That was one hell of a match, gents. Absolute beauty of a game.
You lot had me scared for a while, what with all that fancy ball movement and one-two plays. I thank all that is good and righteous, that you weren't able to use a better formation. :tongue:

There is nothing better than trying out loads of games (talking 25+), having a lot of success, then losing 4-0 when it's posted (worst we'd ever lost in the tryouts was 1-0 and 2-1). I get the most joyous and tingly feeling all over.
However, I don't like it when the result has already been made pretty clear in our threads, before it's even been posted.
The next match will be interesting...

LoL. That will do me. We controlled most of the match they had a little go for about 10 minutes in the first half other than that the match was ours. Gutted i didn't score though. Nice game lads. Was impressed with our full backs, both had great games. I see Noisek(sp) got two assists good on ya lad.

Well done lads. Having had time to watch the game I think this could be a great season for us. I love how we attacked and defended as a team.
I thought Fluke was superb, even better than last season. Really got stuck in and also was a great outlet for us.
Loved watchin Mick03 storming through midfield John Terry like, Haribo is the one who is more disciplined and allows it to happen.
Nothing that Tink could have done with either of the goals.
Noisenik and Cartman defended well but also gave us a real threat going forward down the wings. Especially liked the link up between Fluke and Noisenik.
Theo grew as the game went on but I would suggest he might have been better served playing where Hazman did. Hazman seems to be a player who can do the maximum damage when he has real options and most of the time he was stuck on the right. Also he doesn't seem the paciest of players so the further up the field the better I would say. Theo when he moved over to the right had that extra pace and crossing ability so it might be an idea to swap places? Just a thought.
Dundon's and Laughin Man. Brilliant as usual. The flair trickery and vision of Big D and the outrageously proflific finishing of LM once again was too hot to handle.
A great team performance including the subs who relieved pressure Phatmann by keeping the ball and not being scared to run at people and Calculus looks like he could be a tricky customer at times this season.
Master K didn't get long but he kept the workrate up by chasing back and putting in a real team performance.

Dundon's and Laughin Man. Brilliant as usual. The flair trickery and vision of Big D and the outrageously proflific finishing of LM once again was too hot to handle.
A great team performance including the subs who relieved pressure Phatmann by keeping the ball and not being scared to run at people and Calculus looks like he could be a tricky customer at times this season.
Master K didn't get long but he kept the workrate up by chasing back and putting in a real team performance.

Agree with that, my game more suited centrally and forward, Theo was excellent when down the wing.
Noisek was superb at full back bombing forward to get crosses in.
Deffinatly good shout for Mick charging out from deffence like an animal, brilliant!

Probably our worst performance of the season but the mark of Champions is to win games like that.

Aye it was a lovely goal but I was unhappy with our defence for it. The should never have let artman get the cross in. HH have changed a fair bit and we are looking lethal now.
