Scott Parker vs Michael Carrick

Many papers have labelled the toon vs utd match as a battle between Carrick and Parker for an england spot.
So which of these two players do you think Stevie Mac will favour?

I think he will favour Carrick but tbh I like Scott Parker more.

Parker. He is the more all action player and a natural replacement for Hargreaves. Carrick is a quality player but he doesn't bring the same kind of work rate to the table, also through no fault of his own he hasn't played as much football therefore been able to earn his place.

I think most fans would pick Parker over Carrick but I'm sure he'll pick Carrick. With Parker there is a risk if it doesn't work, Carricks been there before and even if he plays shit, which he probably will, McClaren won't get stick over it.

If you want a more like for like replace for Hargreaves, IE a man who's going to not stop running, hurry the opposition into mistakes by putting them under pressure and Parker is your man.

If we want someone who's more cultured and going to influence the game more with their passing then it's Carrick, although he's not as rounded as Parker's game is, if we need to stifle the opposition and keep hold of the ball like people go on about the need to at International Football then it would be Carrick.

Couldn't have put it better myself. I'd select Parker, as he'll fit into the role McClaren has in mind better in my view.
