Option to Copy Player Name to the Name on their Shirt.

Players to crowd around referee when team mate is sent off.

Lightly injured players go off briefly for treatment and can half recover.

Muddy up the strips in the rain!

Allow the Enter Code option to alter particular skills or attributes, for all players, or a team at a time.

Offer a Half Speed option in Training.

Coach promising players individually through the Challenge Training routines, building up their skill in different parts of the game.

Make time in training impact on Master League Players' condition and form - to counteract accumalated fatigue.

What was the old Sega(?) game with an indoor football option, or maybe a five-a-side? Do that.

Headers & Volleys...Three & In...Cup Finals...jumpers for goal posts!

So basically the game should be made more realistic. If the guys at Konami sat down and watched a British football match, they'd notice how when someone scores they don't just jog over to the corner flag and pump their fist every time. More celebrations could be:

-Henry's one where he runs along the side of the pitch and no-one can catch him til he stops

-The players could take their shirt off and you could edit what it says on their vest

-The scorer could try and collect the ball from the net, and then the keeper could try and stop him and then depending on the aggression of the teams a riot could break out

-The scorer could jump into the crowd, and the linesman could come and try to stop him

Any other ones I forgot :D

i think that they should:
- make the commentary better
- new balls
- linesman and referee on pitch
- more licenses
- more teams
- a lot more variations on boots
- proper crowd chants
- crowd walk away if doing poorly
- say ruud when he scores lol
- more celebrations
- more gamplay and skill things to do i.e more skill, different things to do when u hav the ball or something.
- oh yeah and off the ball control (not)

I know its off tpoic sorry but what do you think the next terrible FIFA gimmick will be? Maybe there's a new Off The Ball Ballboy Control System where you can control the ballboys and make them fetch ball quicker :D :D

lol yeah man, and in PES4 you should be the manager in master league, and then if you do well you should go to a bigger club, not unlike career mode in FIFA 2004 (don't worry they haven't brainwashed me into preferring FIFA) :D . You should start as the coach for your local sunday league team and go all the way up to coaching national teams in the world cup finals :cool:

the master league should have 2 different leagues with 2-3 different divisions and then have champions league style tournaments. also, make editing strips as gud as it was in pes2. not enuf options!

you should be able to create players AND teams and use them in the ML. you should also be able to make normal league play with these new teams, i.e. create some players and clubs and have a serie A season with the 18 correct teams. in fact not to have really customable cups (to make the real CL) is a scandal. otherwise the game rules, maybe chose the gamespeed would be nice, i'd like to have it a tad (1/4) slower.

* Diving (so players can try to con the referee)
* Better music on the option modes
* Improvement on the handball decisions
* Money instead of the points
* Online compatible
* Players doing their own (original) celebrations
* Players names announced on the tannoy before the game and when bringing on substitutes
* Referees to book players once the ball has gone out after having played the advantage
* Goalkeepers being able to drop the ball and then bring it out
* Having realistic amount of time stoppage time (based on substitution and injuries)

- Let players be happy together when you win a cup(not all chearing on their own)
- Make players really happy when they score an important goal, not lying on the ground shaking :S

- Handball is way to often now, do something about it
- Keep that re-play thingie in the training, it's brilliant
- Faster desisions by the refery(espacially with off-side)
- Make the trough ball much more accurate! Zidane can't even give the most simple trough ball's
- The forwards must run to freedom when you play counter attack, so you can give a long ball
- Old masterleague
- Create a atmosphere around the game. Go to the studio, to the dressing room, take interviews, i don't know, make it believable!
- Some variation in the commentary please
- Player stats more realistic, not 20 players who are good and the rest suck, that's not very realistic

I see no one has mentioned the referees decisions, getting sent off for a fair challenge. Very annoying.
They also have loads of refs, but no stats for them. Strictness etc.
Penalties are still a joke, they miss the target for no apparent reason (one thing thats better on FIFA).

An Indoor or five-a-side version should be easy for Konami to program (just add a new, small 'Stadium').

It would reward close control: short dribbling, passing and accurate shooting into smaller goals - which would be good for a player's skill in normal games. (I put gaols first, must be thinking of certain top English players)

It could be played among your own players in Master League and offered as a PES Shop option to add as a an Exhibition stadium - which beats the normal Training Ground.

I agree with those saying vary the referee's strictness and willingness to book players. And mayber stricter in WEFA matches and Cup semi's or finals than normal domestic league games? (Can I get Classic Gazza to cry?)

Make the Classic Teams specific to particular tournaments not having Gazza play in the same team as Charlton - e.g. Brazil '58, '70 and '82. England '66 and '90. France Euro '80, Holland '74-78, and Euro '88. Argentina '78 and '86. Italy '82 I guess?

Or what about classic club teams? Madrid of the 50's, Man Utds Busby Babes or European Champions of '68. Liverpool of the late 70's or early 80's. 70's Ajax etc etc.

Can we have the 'benefit of the doubt' in offsides going to attacking team, i.e. if you can't see daylight between attacker and last defender, the play goes on. And players moving backward should be counted as inactive, unless the ball actually comes to them.

Oh, and players about to make runs into space point to where they want a 'through' ball - if the player on the ball spots them and has the passing skill he'll be able to get the right weight on the pass, others will over or under hit the ball which is what normally happens now.

Thus, 'playmakers' would be able to 'pull the strings' of attack from midfield. And add another Foward position for the playmakers up front, like Totti and Bergkamp, who tend to drop deep into 'the hole' between CF and OMF.

the one thing i find annoying is when it passes to the wrong person. I hate it when a player has got loads of space but instead it passes to the person nearest who is marked by 2 ppl.

I use manual... to be fair, player selection is pretty good, it's just that sometimes you can't select the player closest to the ball. It's not as big an issue in PES3 compared to previous versions though I think.

I use semi-auto cos I like to let the game choose for me sometimes.

I think that in the next one they have to do something about the penalties. I must admit that in FIFA 2004 the penalties are brilliant.

Stop defenders 'Benny Hilling' sometimes, i.e. when they are faced with an opponent running at them and you hold x, they run up to him, stop, deliberately run around to the back of him then give chase, like in The Benny Hill Show (Yes, I'm old). It's infuriating.

Nobody has mentioned this which makes me suspect you all know a way of stopping that happening. If so, please somebody let me know. Cheers.

Only problem I have with the game in general is the only being able to run in 8 directions as it makes gameplay restrictive and doesn't let you do all the things you want to do on and off the ball. I could find alot of other problems with the game too but I would be nit picking.

it is rather limiting only being able to run in 8 directions. As for off the ball then pffff get fifa :p . Libero Grande mode is awesome!

Some of these ideas just sound like more things i have to press start to in order to get to the bloody game. Like being in dressing rooms/studios wtf?

They already do announce subs over the tannoy in some games. Maybe u want it more prevalent.

I want the damn commentary changed. I like Peter Brackley from the old Football Italia Channel 4 days but they make him sounds terrible. Get rid of that idiot Trevor and stick Ray Wilkins in there again. What a team. He had some funny things to say.
I wanna be able to change the commentary language without changing the whole language of the game like I could before. And get some crazy S. American to shout GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLL!! ! For half a minute.
And have an option of old/new master league division style.

Maybe Konami could team up with Eidos (Champ Manager) and thus have a license for all players names and use their stats for the players.

I want more teams. Fifa (when I played it, last time was on PS1) had sooo many teams from countries i never even heard of. I don't want that many teams but u know, more.

I want analog control. and i want the computer to stop running slowly along the width of the pitch in a straight line. I can't get the ball, and WHO DOES THAT ANYWAY?

And i want the computer to stop defending with 8 men. That stuff gets annoying. Not even Italy did that when they sat back.

I'm portuguese and I'm in a portuguese community, and we are discussing (discussion), this things so we can all, send a e-mail to Konami, to see this improvements....I think it would be a game that doesn't have any faul's.

But we have to move fast....because this Game(PES4), it isn't made in 4 monts or less. They can take a year to make the game. The faster we are, the better they can put this improvements on the game.

I don't want the PES4, only for the online gaming(it's good), but i and i think, WE WANT MORE.

i thought of another improvement, last night, while losing 1-0 against mate, sent through with brilliant through ball by nedved, Ronaldo lobs the goal keeper, Keeper turns sprints back, slides to grab the ball, clearly his momentum will carry him into the net giving me my equiliser? NO, he hits the invisible wall and stays out!

GET RID OF THE STUPID INVISIBLE WALL, its been on every ISS/PES i can think of, the goalkeeper should carry the ball out of player if his momentum is taking him over the line. i'm sure it happened on Fifa 2003! its so annoying!

The NPC general tactics can be improved. During the master league i played man utd who had christiano ronaldo at SB! Also the NPC transfer system should be dramatically improved so the best teams buy the best players, currently aston villa can afford totti!

Well, I dont expect from Konami that they include so much teams in PES4 like in FIFA (Although it would be nice to play with a team from a less strong league and try to win the CL ;) ). I would be happy if they put in the 3 big European leagues, Premiership, Serie A and Primera Division, maybe a little 10-team 2nd division for every of these leagues so that you can get relegated and promoted. Beside this I would like to see every team in the game that plays either in UEFA Cup or Champions League. We would have 60 teams from the big 3, another 30 teams from their lower divisons, 30 teams of CL and about 50-60 teams from the UEFA Cup, would be about 200 club-teams overall. Except this all national teams from Europe added to the existing national teams from PES3 = 100 national teams. Would make 300 teams added together. I don´t even need original kits etc., as long as Konami doesn´t change the decrypting method. If they don´t change it we would have big final patches with original kits and all names 2-3 weeks after the release of the game. People from other countries could overwrite the existing leagues with their leagues. I would be the happiest PES player of the world if Konami made it that way. :)
But when I look on it from a realistic point of view I don´t think there is anything we can do to "force" Konami to change something. They don´t care much about the European market, every single WE game is better than PES, Konami is very focused on Japanese players, the best proof is the fact that Final Evolution was only released in Japan.

They've gotta sort out throw ins by the computer, 30 seconds left computers trailing 1-0 gets a throw in 10yds from the by-line and then waits half an hour till the opponents have got 11 men behind the ball same with free kicks and the keeper faster reactions in dead ball situations.
-Refereeeeeee on the pitch,
-pigs heads being thrown at Figo,
-more diving winging moaning premiership strikers,
-tony adams tribal scream when van nistlepoom misses a penalty,
-players not turning up to drug tests because theyre spoilt cocaine sniffing prats
-put in fifa rulings and then halfway through the season change them around or forget about them depending on who commits the incident

I am hoping for an edition with more international teams. Eg in the African cup, would it be nice if we can have Zambia and Ghana.
I believe they are quite strong. And in Asia, Kuwait & Qatar,UAE
In the America Cup, perhaps Honduras, Canada, El Salvador.
It would be heaven if Konami can come up with a specail edition called Road to World Cup 2006 with all the teams in there. I am sure it will sell like hotcakes.

Less Steve Staunton style defending when you play against the computer, you know every time that if the defender gets the ball in the last third of the pitch he's going to hoof it up the pitch, once in a while this is ok but it gets a bit annoying.

More control over your players when you take a free, if you get one in your own half you can be surrounded by the opposition with all your players standing miles away.

Quicker reactions after tackles, I know they've made it quicker than PES2 but get up man and play on, especially from shoulders,Henry doesn't stand around looking dazed in the box if he gets shouldered.

Get players to break from their running lines quicker if the ball gets deflected.

Tweak the offside, players not involved shouldn't affect play.(Usually wandering back after being stunned by a lethal shoulder 5 mins earlier)

Skip over tackles instead of running around them(and bring the ball aswell not this R2 chickening out of tackle lark)

Referee strictness.

Tackler can get injured aswell,also keeper and injuries in other situations apart from tackles(stretching for ball, falling over hoarding like Forlan).

Improvements outside the gameplay would be a bonus but not as important, improved management system,scouts,youth teams,stadium improvements, ticket receipts,advertising funds......bring team on tour of Asia

*say u could score a goal and the players run off to celebrate and the camera pans to the linesman whose flag is up and it shows the replay and ur offside, would b very good i think sometimes not all the time, only for very close offside calls
*make night games look like night games - look at the san siro for a night champions league game and u know its much brighter, night games on pes3 dont really feel like there night time
*better crowd noises i wanna feel like im there
*better crowd animations - not so robotic and not every single person doin the same thing
*more stadiums - preferably the bernebau
*more teams
*better graphics
*improved gameplay
*choice of different balls
*possibly have the national anthems for a tournament when the teams r linging up after the intro music finishes

other than those i cant think of much more but it will no doubt b a fantastic game.

Andy Gray is crap unless they had that magic marker thing at half time so he could circle all the players. Get the Irish guy that does the Italian games on Eurosport, that is the best commentary I've heard in years.

Mud and Snow! Have the pitches get cut up from sliding tackles, and have players end up covered in mud.
Don't really need the ref on the pitch because the ref shouldn't get in the way, but the linesmen should be there since they just run along the sides...also it would be good to be able to see the dugout with the manager jumping up and down after goals etc...
long hair should flop about when players are running and changing direction.
formation screen: reduce the size of the text for the player attributes, so you can have all the stats on one page and the skills on another, and have the postions on the first page too. keep the little graph thing though as it is quite handy.

anyone else noticed that very few people have made any suggestions about the actual gameplay? Kudos to Konami for making such an awesome football experience, and i'm happy to trust them about the little refinements and alterations that we don't even know we need.

Here is a list of things that i find annoying in the current version of PES. Most of these things are rather minor, but the gameplay would become even more enjoyable if they were fixed.

-Make your NPC defenders a bit more active,
(as it is now they usually just stand in place or even run away when you chase someone towards them).

-The same thing goes for your NPC attacking players as well,
if you have all-out attack and auto-attack on they should advance a bit faster.

-Make the computer players less agressive when you control the ball in your own half of the pitch.

-Add an optional marker for the player who has control of the ball, to make it easier to spot when you loose or gain control of it.

-Players freezing in place when they have made a pass, and the same thing goes for player who are waiting to recive a pass.
(yes I know about the "super release R1+R2" but it should be possible to meet the boll without it)

Get the Irish guy that does the Italian games on Eurosport, that is the best commentary I've heard in years.

I think that's Billy Hamilton you're talking about. I though he just repeated what we'd all just seen, like Trevor Brooking does, but he takes even longer.

I actually prefer Gerry Armstrong on the Sky's Spanish coverage.

The best tactical co-commentators I can recall have been Johnny Giles on RTE (main Irish tv channel) and Don Howe on the old Channel 4 Italian coverage.

I say: add a combination of buttons to switch the ball to the best foot the player has, before he shoots.
When scoring a goal, we should be able to press a button really fast so we could control the celebration, and we should be able to edit the celebrations.

Having just read through six pages of everyone's good ideas, I'd like to add my own and comment on some of the ideas some others have raised...

My improvements:
- Improve player AI so they are more reactive to their surroundings (Chasing intercepted passes, shot rebounds, recovery from tackles, no need for super cancel players should automatically do the sensible things)
- Overhaul the commentary and start again
- Full English leagues (All inclusive down to Div 3) and of course many of the other European leagues. I'd love to be able to play a full English career with the FA Cup & League Cup starting with a team like Yeovil and going all the way to the top.
- Ability to edit & add a new league or change Master League structure
- Scrap handball, it doesn't work
- Improved crowd/atmosphere at the games. Some specific crowd chanting would be nice. Great touch in F*FA 2004 is Liverpool fans singing 'YNWA' with a few minutes remaining.
- Shot power and accuracy to become more relative to players shooting position. If a player is outside the box, he should have the option to drive the ball (keep it around knee high) without losing power.

My comments on some of the existing posts:
- Five a side - Great idea. Should be easy enough to implement
- Referee & Linesmen visible - Don't agree with this one. I think it would take up some space in the programming which could be better used elsewhere. The ref and lino should be seen in the cut scenes as the ref is now.
- Players receiving treatment for minor injuries - adds to the realism of the game, great idea.

the thing this game mostly needs is a cpu/logic option(people who play fire pro wrestling know what I mean) where u can select what a player usually does, here's an example u have 100% u then put 10% to shooting on goal 20% on dribbling, 50% on passing and 20% to long passes, that is just an example but that way u can create much more realistic players like maradona going for alot more dribbles like he did in reallife

some other ideas I have:

in master league there should be national teams too, so when ur training ur club sometimes players have to play for their national teams and there would be world cups, ec's copa america etc.

the ability to switch teams, either to other clubs or to national teams

the ability to put created players in national teams and classic teams

classic club teams such as real madrid 60's, man u 60s, santos 60s, benfica 60s, ajax 70s, bayern munich 70s, napoli 80s, milan 80s, barcelona early 90s, ajax mid 90s etc.

new ability's like temper, the higher it is the more annoyed a player gets when he's losing or playing bad so he makes nasty fouls, roy keane is an example in reallife also since in reallife there are alot more cards thenthe cpu gets in this game

alot more animations for pulling ur shirt instead of touching ur arm gently and the keepers need alot of improving

What about player personalities/characteristics? Where the CPU player plays similarly to how the player would in real life.

Like, Cristiano Ronaldo would do a load of stepovers when he's trying to beat the full back. Beckham would play more like he does in real life, he doesn't try and beat players, he collects the ball and swings in a diagonal ball into the box from half-way between the centre circle and the touch line. Players like Makalele would simply get the ball, take a touch and then pass it on. Centre forwards like Heskey would recieve the ball with their back to goal, hold it up, and then offload it to a midfielder or another striker on the overlap, rather than attempting to run at defences etc...

That way the game would be much more realistic, and it would be like playing against the real players. Because at the moment, for example, a lot (all?) wide midfielders have the same playing style. But that's not the case in real life at all, players like Ronaldo, Duff etc... like to take people on, whereas other wingers prefer to cut inside or hold it up until the full back overlaps or put in early diagonal crosses.

ok folks my two pennies worth (and my first post too)...sorry if all this has already been written:

1. Better sound. We want to feel the crowd when the ball goes in the net...not the farty crowd nopises at present. Also id like to hear the crowd shouting out now and again...better commentary, players shouting (fifa is great for that).

2. A proper league option. None of this master league shite. We want the leagues to run the same way that fifa's do...with the correct cups for each country and each team/division. Money for transfers...season running on dates (august to may for example). Also correct transfer windows.

3. Pitch to get roughed up as game goes on. Bits of turf coming up...slide marks...foot prints...crap being thrown on (baloons and what not) that players occasionaly kick out of the way. This would add to the sense of being there.

4. Removal of all gay goal celebrations (im sick of my team bumming each other when they score). Inclusion of more personalised celevrations for all top players.

5. Fans invading pitch when league is won, etc.

6. Referees, linesmen, trainers, subs/coaching staff all visible.

7. more arguing with referee especially when someone sent off.

8. PLayers going over to take throw in but then dropping bal for another team mate to take it. More than one person near ball for free kick.

9. more animation for everything. More variety. Although i mist say you cant ask much more than what we already have...

10. Real 3d fans. I know this might slow down too much but hey it will be ok for ps3 :) - i want to see the fans all in 3d. An away supporters section that goes mental for most of the game (unless you are getting a drubbing). Id like to see fans leaving early if you are getting beat by your fiercest rivals.

11. Players making better runs.

I think thats alot of the stuff i would add. Ive concentrated on some of the more superficial aspects rather than nuisances about the game itself....but hey - i am entitiled too. Konami have the gameplay so right that its the depth and involvement that they really need to add to. As great as it is, it could be so much better.

You guys are so correct about all those things you wanna improve, but i believe that the main thing that has to be improved is the gameplay, and i guess you are overlooking some GROSS mistakes. Here are the flaws i think the konami guys should sort:

* the unique computer style of play: Im tired of seeing no matter what team im in front of, they just stick to the sidelines sending crosses.. and almost all of them are goals. If i watch the replay i can see rio ferdinand losing a very stoopid header with Castolo (??)...

* The always-blocking tackle: Almost every time i come to the opposite area, dribbling like a madman, and i want to make a curling shot, the computer manages to block off my shot. I know this happens on real life, but.. the ball uses to move around a bit after that.. in PES the ball sticks in its place till a defender comes and guess what.. hoofs the ball clear.. it happens with EVERY TEAM you challenge.

* I think that computer makes players who always make crosses (every one in the pitch) a little more faster (and accurate) when they are losing a game.. maybe its me, but it seems that almost every time the CPU starts to send and send more and more crosses a goal is going to come, and it seems inevitable.

* obviously, the defending its too poor.. they look like the italian team closing down with 8 men back there.. please there are teams in real life that KNOW how to defend with quality not numbers.

* id like to see some of the classic plays of the most remarkable players.. like the auto pass from bergkmap, or the super sprint from henry (but not always!!) and say, sometimes all players run like henry-oids.

* the players to be more awake and aware of the situation,, sometimes it seems that they`re losing and they just dont care.

* And last.. PLEASE KONAMI GUYS GET RID OF THAT FRICKIN' FRAMERATE SLOW DOWN!! WE ALL HERE WOULD APPRECIATE THAT!!

Ok... having not really read thru 6pgs of ideas here is my contribution. If there is more of a strategic, involved feel to the game I think it would vastly improve... so what am I going on about?

1. Training - make it have an effect on players stats. Players can get injured in training. Be able to, in a limited fashion, set some training for players like exercise etc

2. Reserves/youth - amalgamate the promising players into a separate youth/reserves league system. You don't have to play but you can promote/demote players between the 1st and reserve XI.

3. Have the opportunity to be sacked or go to another team/career mode/more management. Also have a setting where players age and retire? Players go on international duty, refuse to play and ask for transfers? International tournies effecting your ML season?

4. random player generator? Makes players with stats totalling 1700. Haven't worked out the use yet!!!! Challenges - stop a certain team from being relegated with no transfers. Get into Europe with 2 signings in January. Generate enough revenue to keep the club going into administration? Gate receipts, attendances, revenue from shirts and all. Choosing sponsors each season for shirt and and ground?

4. Basic stadium builder using PES points as well as the chance to improve your training facilities so your existing players improve more and promising players are better and have better stats etc.

5. Ticker tape of transfers and news... instead of looking thru each club

That's all I can think of right now

LOADS more teams, more responsive controls, about 20 more difficulty levels, shots which don't float, passes that go where you want them to, no handballs, better detail in player's faces, better commentary, better crowd noises, all new presentation, better CPU AI, better first-time passing and eliminate the whole "I'll press O for a first-time clearance but instead my player goes for a slide-tackle and gives the ball away" shit.

Better throw-ins, no pauses after breaks in play, the ability to play when substitutions are being displayed, a whole new ML, updated player stats, players to be as good as they are in real life.

Apart from that PES3 is ACE!!

Greater variety of Commentary Player Names, or some sort of program that can read any combination - SpeechThingTypeThing-ish type thing.

Being able to manipulate the way players celebrate.

Chants and boo-ing directed at certain players who make a bad tackle/make a meal of a tackle etc.

Use money instead of points - base the currency on the language you play it in - i.e. Spanish - pesetas, British - pounds.

Make players slip the ball <i>between</i> defenders more, instead of playing it straight into them when anywhere either side would have done.

Make the keepers better - they're poor in PES3.

I agree with most of your other ideas. Chants and booing at players who have been booked, also they could create a stat called Personality which determined how likeable a player was, meaning that a player with 99 would not usually be booed by opposing fans whereas a player with say 30 would be booed when they are on the ball. Also fans could cheer when a player from their team takes it by a player and they could do the "ohhhhhhhhhhhhwehey" when an oppents defender was about to kick the ball far. The crowd in the stand could hold banners which reflect on your performance, for instance, if you are bottom of the league and losing too many games then the banners could say "manager out now" or a new player could be welcomed with say "Rangers welcomes Nuno Crapucho", as if I or any Rangers fans would welcome him. I agree with your suggestions on passing, in particular through balls, which is the only thing that FIFA can really say they are better at.

Definately agree with the idea of being able to manipulate player celebrations. I think one of the older WWE Smackdown games allowed you to customise and create to own celebrations etc...
This was a pretty cool idea and made created characters seem more personal to the person that made them. For example players like Kieron Dyer could do his hand to mouth celebration.

Also I would like to see more player equipment options. For example Madden NFL 2002 allowed you to choose players apparel for summer and winter seasons.
If this was added players could allow players to wear gloves in winter and also wierdos like Totti and Recoba could wear those insane scarfes. Simple and easy idea which could make the game more life like.

Get rid of the shitty hand ball (or at least improve it), forwards only ever handle in the opponents box, and defenders only ever handle outside the box. One it aint realistic and two it just pisses anyone who plays the game off!

Make sure keepers throw the ball first time as soon as you press the button. Has anyone else found themselves hitting the button around 20 times only for him to kick the ball up the field?

Not the most important things but assuming the game isn't fully licensed:

1. Don't lower the quality of the flags when they're saved.
2. Be able to resize the flags on the kits and move to anywhere we want instead of just left, right or centre.
3. Edit stadium names, ref names, ref appearances, competition names etc.
4. Let us actually register a player when we create them and edit the nationality of edited players.

Even allowing more layers wouldn't make any difference, the quality would still be lowered as it is, which is why they need to change it. Even if it used more memory card space, i would prefer if it meant better flags.

2-"Advantage rule" should be improved;

6-A League creator mode(so you could "mix" it with cup mode)

players can get into fights and bottles get thrown from crowd,

the managers for eg. arsene wenger are on the game, when one of his players gets fouled he jumps up from his seat and the assistant ref restrains him,

the manager or man of the match possibly does an interview after the game,

after the match it shows the premiership or match of the day showing the hightlights with des lynam and ally mccoist,

i think all else is brill on pes3 but just minor adjustments could get rid of FIFA.

yeah, like in isspe2. That was cool because you could change the gamespeed to what ever you were most comfortable with.

The double speed feature in pes3 is useless and it gives you a headache after a while.

Before Konami consider adding anything new to the game for its next release may I suggest they sort out the current game first.

Examples:

1) Sort out your rule book[/B][/U],
i) It is not a foul when you cleanly get the ball only for the opponent to run into you.

ii) It is not a foul to run next to a player!

iii) A player is NOT offside when he is standing scratching his arse 40 yards from play.

2) Controls
i) GET RID of the damn 'super cancel' thing. If I have control of a player I don't expect to have to press a certain set of buttons just to make him go in the direction I am pointing!

ii) If I am pointing/facing a direction with my controll pad (ie towards another player) I don't expect when I press for him to pass it either backwards, straight to the opponant or anywhere other than where I am facing.

3) Sort out the commentary
No matter which way you look at it, being top of division one, ten points clear and then winning again is NOT against the odds Mr Brooking.

4) Fairness
i) If a free kick has to be given to the opponent just because I am running next to them then surely I should receive one if they do it to me (Not in PES you don't) In general though the whole fouls thing is corrupt!

ii) How about some clearences/rebounds/deflections etc. DON't go straight to their player and maybe reflect real life by going into open play, out of play, ANYWHERE other than always to their player.

iii) Heading a 50-50 ball shouldn't leave my player sat down for 20 minutes every time while their player lands on their feet and buggers off with the ball every time.

5) And finally...
Give my players the same abilities (not stats) as the computer, that is, is if the ball is rolling past them following a pass by the opponent, STICK YOUR DAMN LEG OUT and try to intercept, just like the computer seems to do all the time!

These are just a few things that constantly grate me, and I believe should be sorted out before they decide on implimenting anything new.
In general this game can be quite unfair, winning very dubious freekicks all the time, rarely conceding freekicks, being clairvoyant (knowing that you are going to turn suddenly and still they get the ball).

Come on Konami, lets make the greatest football game in the world EVEN BETTER!

Great comments, here are som e more:

- 5.1-sound (dolby digital or DTS)
- MUCH better penalty control... very poor right now.
- Better Free kick-control... now very exciting as it is right now!
- More fair referees... at some points they are just... <grrrmfg> so annoying.
- Better user interface, especially when trading players etc.
- Being able to move the wall when defending a freekick (like FIFA2004)
- Being able to tunnel a player in some smart way!

... and of course better team licenses, less handballs etc.

It'd also be nice to have "crazy mode" PES-game, I mean not in PES4, but a different game (PES should be only the simulator style footie). More or less the same game mechanics as i PES ( a bit easier to control maybe), but a lot of wierdo stuff like playing on a roof, on ice, big-head-mode (as someone mentioned!), lots of blood, legs and arms being chopped of(!), playing with monsters and animals, small goals with no goalies, indoor football, playing with a big beach ball, players being able to get super-powers for a short while (like running 80 km/h, jumping 10meters, not being able to get fouled etc.).... WOOAAAAH!!! That would be a great game, right!

- Able to edit Keeper kits for teams without liecences

- Able to Add Logo's to kits for teams who are unliecened e.g. Add Nike logo to Arsenal kit..

- Gloves in cold weather conditions

- More like Fifa Type season mode with Domestic League, Cup, ECL or Uefa cup, actually able to start a season with real players too. Scrap this master league Shite, or have an option for season mode & Master league mode.

- Remove anoying stutter bug or If theres going to be another stutter bug actually put it in every game version!! :mad:

p.s. To the moderator of this forum just an idea but i think this thread should be sent to Konami so some of these features may be included in PES4.. :D

When playing World Cup/Euro Cup games, that the other game in your group, when there is a goal in that game it could flash at the bottom left/right of the screen, so you know where you stand in the league.

I would also like better curled shots with the inside of the boot.

And for the kits - goalkeeper kits can be edited, and that you can add sponsors onto the shirts!

And, if I was really lucky, the whole of Serie A teams. :).

- players should have a "self-awareness". that is, they should know what they can do (say if they know they can get to a ball before it goes out, they'll run, if not they'll stay)
- offensive functions that use :L1: can't be done one-touch (as you'll simply change players) so that needs to be fixed

It will be great if Flipper the Priest can come out with a poll to gauge what we actually want in WE8 on the back of the Flop signing success. All the popular requests can be listed on the poll eg. like 5 a side in door stadium competition, on line play, referee and linesmen on the pitch etc. Give a deadline for the polls and on expiry perhaps a moderator could write to Konami.

Meanwhile having played Winning Eleven 7 International( great game but still prefer WE7), I am in the midst of sending my 3rd letter to Konami.

I would personally love to see stupid things like streakers introduced.

Also just little things beside gameplay like gloves, snow, different colured balls etc. would be grand for me.

On the sound-side, new music for the menus. Proper music. (I miss We Will Rock You). And chants for God's sake! They're guff in PES3!

Gameplay will hopefully improve too. And L1 for player changing must be altered, because the amount of times I've chipped over an open goal by changing players is frankly ridiculous.

And when you press O for a first-time clearance and your defender slides the ball out.

Actually, come to think of it, I think there's a mega-long list of gameplay improvements.

But most of all the Master League has to be revamped and the game must be made much, much, much more difficult.

I personally don’t have a trouble with shooting but my mate has the same problem as you. The number of times he’s chipped the ball (when one on one with the GK) straight into the Keepers hands is ridiculous. He obviously hates it when it happens but I always find it amusing.

all the stuff u guys introducin is amazin, coz i cant think of all of this, i mean the game is magnificient, some great piece of art, but we cant get enough of it ;) i think in addition to all ur suggestions, i wish to have more managerial stuff in it, like havin the option to watch other season games, cup games... plus havin all national teams in it would be fun, and hmmmm... i guess in ps2 i cant add a player i create from scratch in a club but i can add him in a national team... y? that must be changed... if they cant afford havin all national teams, atleast add all national flags so that we can create or edit watever way we want... editing a players country cannot be altered.. thats weird.. oh well... thx for everythin konam ;)

Sorry if I have repeated any but here are my ideas

Ref and linesman on the pitch and and active within the play eg ball can hit them.
Subs to run on to the pitch
Tackling to be inproved, if you take the ball no matter if you clatter into the player you dont get sent off.
Get rid off the hand ball
Get rid off the advantage rule
Better goal keepers
Training mode to include a corner and free kick creator were you can position players were you want players for free kicks and corners (attacking and defence) and creat free kicks where two or three players can flick the ball for you to shoot.
Simpler tricks for you to beat opponents with
Completly new transfer system
Ability to edit any club squad and transfer any players
Greater selection of kits to use in editor
more colours availble in kit editor
Master league to have 4 division of 20 teams and normal promotion and relegation rules (if you finish in the top two you go up, if you finish in the bottom 3 you go down places 3-6 go into the play offs.)
Real money used not points. eg Henry cost £30m and earns £80000 a week so I cant just go and buy him after just being promoted.

yeah if you wanted to cheat your way thru it but fortunately most are not like that

it all comes down to a choice - you either choose to make it fun and challenging at the same time by playing the big games that are outside your schedule and *not* tanking them on purpose

or instead of using that feature to expand the challenge and fun factor, use it to make the process of winning easy and worthless

but of course the latter are the kinds of people who probably approve of steroids in sports and stealing chips when you leave the poker table and other less agreeable ways of winning without paying the proper price

Ya can cheat on PES3 anyway though. No matter what features they do or don't put in, you can always cheat if you really want to.
I had to "cheat" on PES2 when they introduced that saving games thing where it didn't allow you to quit a game half-way through (it gave the score 3-0 to the opposition). My PES2 always used to crash every other game so I ended up losing games that I hadn't even played. I had to make 2 saved games to get round it. But I didn't use that to get around losing matches or getting knocked out of cups. Pointless.

yeah that restart thing in fifa is almost condescending to the player..

here in the us though i've got my hoops and gridiron games and although i'm a Pistons fan i do like playing any good matchup, esp those that involve LeBron James - thats where this whole crazy idea came from

and while i'm thinking about it what do you think about the ability to simulate your games?? i mean if you are at mid-low table (or 15 pts ahead of everyone) and things are beyond hopeless why not sim thru the final pathetic and pointless 1 or 2 matches??

yea simulation is a great idea, i always think of it durin playin coz i always win the league with about 25-30 point difference... lol.. and about playin other games in other leagues or so... its an ok idea.. but i dont think thats what i axually meant in the first place... i like the idea of bein a manager, so i thought havin the ability to watch other games from the same league u in would be nice without the option to choose a side to play with, just click on that match and just be able to watch... well i sort of like that ;)

A bit pedantic.

They shouldn't get rid of anything like some people have said it all just needs improving, handball is a joke at the moment but they need to make it more rellevant, you should be able to throw yourself at the ball by pressing a certain button this increases the likelihood of you getting the ball but also increases the use of arms in the movement, thats when handballs happen in real life.

They need to improve the look of the menu's, I never realised how bad they were until I saw pics of f**a.

I for on porbably among many others would like liscensing and also i know this is quite a minor thing but maybe more varietys of goal nets! like in the stadiums and different coloured nets for the finals(Champions league final old trafford black nets) i no they hvae started this in pes3 but its different netting they have done whereas i would like to see maybe different styles of actuall framework on the goals to make each stadium to look individuall one style of net that i thaught was AMAZING were the ones on ronaldo v-football on the ps1 does anybody want any other things added to we8/pes4?

The following features should be added in PES4

- Some more clubteams (VFB stuttgart, partizan, PAOK etc....)
- Each team should have its OWN stadium
- All licensed teams
- Club-unique crowd songs, (like we heard in PES 1 with feyenoord)
- Ability to register customised players to club teams

That would make the PERFECT PES 4 ;)

I want the crowd chanting for international teams reintroduced( ie holland have the brass bands playing during the games.) I would also like the gk `s to be able to catch the ball in the air and land on his feet rather than fall to the ground and lay there for half an hour.and also sort out the ref`s they are way too strict . I mean not even spew dallas wouls give a straight red for a shoulder charge

This should be a good one.

Why not introduce a choice where you can choose to advance directly from the game which had just ended to the next one???

Skipping all the line-up changes, kicker changes, negotiations, training, selection of kit, viewing of information and stuff???

Cos from what I see, in the early stages, people just play for the sake of earning cash, and getting positions like 1st.

Especially those on 5 min matches :)

Consider this seriously guys :)

I think that little cut scenes would make the game a whole lot betta.
For example a player before takin a penalty and the goalkepper, the player could look nervous, goalkeeper walking across goalline etc.
Also little fights between players, just a little shove and squaiorng up to each other, not to big as it will look like a boxing game.
I believe that little cut sceenes like this will make the game more intense and realistic and will add a little spark into the game.

Something I would really like to see implemented on WE8 is Managers. Love to see them on the sidelines prompting the players or fuming mad at the players. Real names please. Underachievers will be sacked in the Master League just like players being transferred to another team. Imagine Alex Ferguson being sacked and re-employed at a club rotting in Div 2. Introduce a Create Manager option similar to the one used to create a player. We can create our own facial features, size, dressing and everything and be manager of the team that we have chosen to play with. Introduce a Manager of Month award too. Instead of Game Over for us change it to “Sacked"

One thing they have to get rid off is the call names. Calling players by numbers ust makes the game a whole lot worse and unrealistic.
Making up names would be better.

- diving possibility
- possibility the give someone an elbow (that's not the way it is used to be, but hey, it happens irl)
- cut scenes
- crowd chants!
- when it's rainy, mud on clothes, mud on the pitch, ...
- showing substitutions (you see one going off, one coming up)
- edit possibility for GK (+ long trousers! for Kiraly for example)
- ...
