I think that France are looking good too... but have this feeling that the poms are going to surprise a few people with rooney up front there is a lot of expectation on his shouls and i feel that he is the kind of person that takes it in his stride and performs better... ohh and dont count the Italians out..

Are people forgetting the Czechs? They did very well in the Euro 2004 qualifying phase and show good promise, definitely.
Other then that, Italy and France seem the other big contenders and of course the hosts, Portugal, have a great advantage.
All I know is that if the final is anything like the final in 2000, we're in for a treat.

France or England.
Italy did poor in the world cup and england seem to do ok against the big teams.
i.e brazil,turkey and germany.

Hard too see past France/Czech Republic!! or an on form Holland!!!!
equally as hard to see England winning it to be honest!
England hopefully should have sorted out their problems and i really think that this is out tournament.

I'd love to see England win it but I'll keep an open mind and try not to be patriotic. The Czechs are good and almost every team in the tournament can win it ( not Latvia perhaps). I just hope that England can pull it off (matron!). We are the underdogs and that seems to help Beckham, Gerrard and people like that play that much better. Here's hoping!
C'mon England, C'mon England. Ing-ger-lund!!
P.s great Avatar eksol

i'd love to be patriotic and say "we're gonna win it" but i just can't see us playing well in a full match!!
in world cup we were unstoppable in 1st half, in euro qualifiers, unstoppable in 2nd!
now put that together we'd win everything, but it wont happen under sven, i'm sorry to say it! :(

I don`t think England will win or any other team. England is my 2nd best national team but it seems to me that they were alot better few years ago than they are now. I mean they`re having a hard time beating Turkey or lower team than they are..but who knows miracle might happend

i hate it when ppl have a go at Sven, he has a fantastic england record, ppl have a go at him for all the subs he does in friendlys which i think is a good idea because he can see how younger english players play before risking them in a competitive match.

are you sure you didn't mean to quote me giggsy?????? i didn't mean to have a go at him, he's done well, just think he cant take us much further!!
p.s just replied to your message!
France, Italy and England are my bets. Although I think the Czechs have a very strong side, and hopefully Nedved will have won the Balon D'or by that time as well, he definately deserves it.
England can beat anyone on their day, but I think they're prone to screwing up at easier challenges.

France might win it. They're usually very consistent and they still also look very strong. There are always big expectations for Italy and Spain but they always fail. Italy look good though and I think they might get to the Semi's at least. Czech Republic are playing really well and I wouldn't be surprised if they get far, or even win it. You can't rule out Germany either, they have individuals (Kahn, Ballack) that can win games. Portugal are at home but I honestly can't see them doing that well. Holland have enough talent in there team and if they play to there potential, then who knows?
As for us, we have enough quality to win it. If the big players stay injury free then next year might just be our year. C'mon England!!!
Got to be Holland in my opinion, after watching them rip skirtland appart, i think they got what it takes to win the tournament, they got some quality finishers and i can see james leaving portugal with a bad back, he'll be picking a few RVN shots out that net. :P
I reckon England will at least get to the quarter-finals, but I think France will win it, as long as Zidane stays injury free.
I think Czech Rebuplic, Italy and Portugal will also do well. I'm not sure about Spain, they've got a great squad but lack a killer instinct.
Whatever happens though, i think it will be a great tournament & more entertaining than last summers World Cup.
