A Naive Tactical approach by a big pervy Steve.

Also, Crouch and Rooney do not work together as they BOTH like to drop off. Shit.

A Naive Tactical approach
^ The reason we lost.

Testing a 3-5-2 out against a weaker nation or in a friendly would've been fine, however the toughest group game is not the place to be trying out new untried systems.

I think MacLaren has picked up some bad habits of Sven.

Including trying out new formations. Not wise.

1. If we'd have played to win the whole game the score would have been a lot more than it was.

2. We need Beckham as much as everybody on the earth needs a chocolate teapot.

Yossi and Kallum, spot on.

we did not need to try out a new formation, we should stick to the things we know 4-4-2!!!

A change of formation wasn't needed, a change of personnel probably is. I'm counting the days till Ashton is fit to partner a 100% Wayne Rooney upfront.
I still think Crouch should be in the squad but not as a starter. I'm still confident we'll qualify but it will be tougher than i first thought.

Didnt England play 4-3-3 a while ago in a friendly (I think)!?
That worked outw ell, didnt it? So why did England drop that to go back to 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 or whatever?

Sad to see a team which has so many talented players, perform so poorly. Not just today, but England was crap during the world cup as well...

3-5-2 was meant to be a positive change according to terry, but it didnt work out the way.

Terry also thought England were a dead cert on winning the world cup.

So did the majority of people in the UK.

I still think the 3-5-2 could still work. Just because we never performed today isn't down to the formation. We usually play 4-4-2, and we usually play shit.

What a fat gash Rooney really is.

We have a bunch of Individuals who don't play as a team it's simple really. Joe Cole was also by far our best midfielder before his injury as well, the one player we could really on in that department.

I think that the formation didnt help but with the group of players at yere disposal it shouldnt matter what formation ye use ye should be beating Croatia....

I've just listened to a bit of Skysports News there and Paul Robinson is being called a "clown" for his "error". I don't know if it's just me, but the ball took one hell of a bobble when you don't want it. Why is Paul Robinson been blamed for Croatia having a crap pitch?

Well it was either Pletikosa or Robinson who put the divot there for goal kicks. Seeing as we did fuck all game, Robinson probably took more goal kicks that end then he did.

Also because he's tubby ;)

it wasn't a bad pitch it was pletikosa or robinson kicking into the ground for goalkicks
