Figo's attacking options will prove to be too much against Minof's average defence. 2-0 to Figo.

figo wins. easy.
I have to rotate it lads.....
And its not that bad....no bad players on the pitch.
I vote for me. :D
Figo wins easy. Better in all areas.
Billy I think thats is too soon to rotate a complete team. You should rotate some players, not all, especially in your defense, the weakes part (in this match) in your team.
Also, Riquelme is in abad position. You should swatch him for L. Gonzalez.
Sorry Billy but Figo wins this one

Gonzalez is a CMF mate not a LMF so I cant change him, also, I will be back to full strenght next week as I have learned from my early mistake.
But in saying that my team aint that bad. My defence is better IMO as is my strike force, but I suppose he has the names so that is getting him the votes.
My team is very balanced, some great technical players and some very hard workers in my team.
Gonzalez play some matches as LMF in Argentina, Billy. He is a polifuncional midfielder.

Figo to win. The 5 midfield of Gerrard, Rosicky, Essien, Hargreaves and C. Ronaldo is immense.

Figo:
You certainly have players that can dominate possession and score goals, albeit from outside the box, but I think it's lucky you've come up against a team with a less than impressive defence and no out and out defensive midfielder. You have too many midfielders who play centrally and only one D1 quality striker; Morientes, who has been in great form of late. You need width and you need more of a goal threat at the top.
I think Kompany is a far better player than Mertesacker so make sure he plays alongside Alex in the big games.
Minof:
No offence Billy, but this is a starting XI that isn't very well thought out and probably wouldn't get far in D2.
I understand bringing in some rotation and all, but your midfield is a bit of a mess. One of the reasons Riquelme failed at Barca was due to them using him outwide and him being crap there. I think you'd be better off dropping either him or Deco, moving Lucho to the left and bringing in Dacourt to add some steel, not to mention some balance, to the midfield.
Defensively you look pretty weak. Ramos and Materazzi have to be recalled. I'd say use Ramos in place of Cafu, but I rate him better than both your centre backs so it'd make more sense to put Ramos and Materazzi next to each other in the centre.
I'm not a fan of the Ronaldo-Raul partnership, as I think they're both past it. That being said, they can still score a fair few if Deco can get a few nice passes through.
I think Figo will take this one pretty comfortably. 3-0 / 3-1.
I for one don't think that Billy's starters here are as bad as they seem to made out to be. Points mentioned earlier by Rich are valid though, the players seem to be in wrong positions. Figo still has too many chiefs in my opinion, however I cannot deny the quality of his players. Alex is a great defender, however Heitinga might be your weakest link in defence here.
Rich, again, raises good valid points.

too many chiefs
too true, Figo's got the talent to compete in the top half of the table but needs to utilize it more effectively.

I'd thought Billy would be using the same formation as last week with six central players (Dacourt, Deco, Riquelme, Larsson, Raul and Ronaldo) so I had to cramp in some middlemen to counter that.
I agree with the comments you guys have given, will bring in another winger next game and see how it works.

A comfortable win for Figo here, I feel.
I can't see Lucho Gonzalez and Deco fairing too well in the middle there, against some of the top class midfielders Figo is fielding. Neither are particularly good defensively. Deco can track back and get in a few ball winning challenges, but is neither disciplined enough nor physically strong enough to effectively battle the likes of Michael Essien and Steven Gerrard.
Personally, I think Oleguer is a horrible defender. If given the chance, Rosicky or Ronaldo could run rings around him. The rest of the defence is ok, though.
There's some good players there, but as a system, I don't see it working. A diamond formation with Seedorf holding, Deco to the right, Lucho to the left, and Riquelme in the hole may have worked slightly better, but an out and out holding player like Oliver Dacourt would have proved beneficial for this match.
Deco and Riquelme's creativity should be stifled by Essien, Hargreaves, Gerrard and Rosicky, as they take control of the midfield.
Ronaldo could get some joy out of Per Mertesacker, as the Brazilian can easily outrun the German if given the chance, but other than that, Figo appears to have the edge in all important areas, and could win this quite comfortably.

well it worked good job then, if that was your plan im proud of you for some good coaching\
The topic has recently come up with the scoreline gap and what not, I'd often vote for the team losing if I feel the gap is too large. However here I think there's only one choice really, Figo's team is more organised than Billy's and would simply be more solid in midfield which would trouble Billy's Deco and the like.

Shit, Full team to be resumed next week so be careful whoever I am playing. Grrrrrrr
I think your best formation would be a midfield diamond of Dacourt at the base, Riquelme at the tip, then Deco and Seedorf/Gonzalez on the central left and right. And then Raul playing off Ronaldo or Larsson. Then, Cafu or Alves can bomb down the right to provide width.

-- Seedorf -------- Deco -----
