Looking at it position by position, DP has a more balanced attack and Preki a slightly better midfield. The defence looks a too close call.
Drogba and Adriano are similar players, so whether they would together I don't know. Both strong players, plus Adriano has the pace to run the defence ragged(that is, when he is on form). Martins and Gilardino compliment each other, and Schweinsteiger's crosses and Van Der Vaart's work ethics and creativity give a balanced attacking front.
Zokora and Ballack is an excellent pairing, plus with Simao's speed and Riise's uuh...crosses it doesn't seem to be less than DP. I think I will go for a draw here.
Preki wins here. Especially for his attack. His both strikers (especially Drogba) are in better form, and can score 2/3 goals.
If Preki doesn't go up this season something will be seriously wrong. Even if tried his hardest to balls it up he probably would fail.

Preki you have a solid team
DP's midfield duo is too lightweight for my liking, in a physical batttle Ballack and Zokora would outgun them more often than not. Defences are about equal, Schweinsteiger and van der Vaart are a bit more dangerous than Riise and Simao. Drogba's been in great form of late, I'll like to play Adriano slightly behind him rather than beside. Also, Ballack could play ahead of Zokora.
Pirlo's long passes are an option to bypass Ballack and Zokora, but I can't see them reaching their targets most of the time. Martins' speed could reach him to one, but other than that the players don't make runs and aren't good targetmen. Hence DP's flair players would not get many chances to demonstrate their abilities.
Two of the best teams in D2, but Preki will take this one in a 2-1 win. I fancy one of his goals to come from a corner which Drogba/Ballack/Campbell will head home.

These are two evenly matched teams, so I was struggling to decide who to vote for, but neither side should be winning or losing by such a margin as 7-1, so my vote goes to Del Piero.
Both midfields are excellent. Andrea Pirlo can sometimes go missing in midfield encounters against physical players, such as Zokora and Ballack, so he might not be at his best in this game, and Zokora and Ballack may be able to get an important edge in the battle in the middle. I favour Del Piero out wide, however.
Both attacks could cause a lot of problems to the opposition's defences. Drogba and Adriano are a very powerful combination, as are Daniel van Buyten and Carlos Salcido, so that would be a tough battle. Drogba is such an unpredictable striker, however, he could all of a sudden flick the ball past a defender (more than likely by accident :tongue:) and then fire it home.
Simao, Adriano, Riise and Ballack all have the ability to fire unstoppable shots from 30+ yards, so it will be important that they're all closed down quickly, and Daniele De Rossi will need to be flying in to challenges. Having said that, the same could be said of all DP's midfielders, with Schweinsteiger and Pirlo in particular being dangerous from long range.
At the other end, Obafemi Martins' pace would pose a significant threat to Sol Campbell and Coloccini, who would really struggle to keep up with the Nigerian, even if given a 5 yard head start over 15 or 20 yards. Alberto Gilardino will also have to be watched closely, and with Coloccini having a tendency to be quite clumsy and fall asleep at times, the poacher could nick in and score a goal.
A very exciting contest between two teams who wouldn't look at all out of place in D1, should finish in a draw. 1-1 or 2-2.

How can I be losing by such a high margin? I dont mean to sound like a sore loser but theres not that much of a difference between the two teams (also when you consider Preki drew with HP last week) :huh:
1) Weise is a better keeper than De scantis
2) Van Buyten & Salcido are better center backs than Campbell & Coloccini
3) Schweinsteiger is better as a right winger than Simao (he is better on the left)
4) ballack and zokora may be stronger than pirlo and de rossi, but they are both attacking therefore leaving gaps.
5) adriano and drogba are very similar players therefore i dont think they would play well together.
Dont take this personally preki i just cant understand peoples voting sometimes.

and what am I supposed to here? sit back quitely why DP slates my entire roster? I guess I could make a retaliation post saying how all my players are, in fact, better than DP's but that would just be silly right?
