I can't beleive Nedved has been overlooked.
Theirry Henry will win. He is the best player in the world at this moment.
Why only 3 players, there are always more than 3 players though?

In the original list there was a lot more players but the list gets whittled down to a final three.
i thought Nedved was the most consistent player both in euro and in italy? Henry seems to fuzz out at the latter part of the campaign
I would say Ronaldo is better than Henry (more skill, more power....just an opinion), but I thinkHenry will win.

Henry will probably win it, especially after his excellent performance Vs Inter. I'd rather see it go to Zidane though, he’s much more consistent.

Ronaldo is bottom of my list. I don't want goofy getting it again. Since Nedved isn't in contention, it's hard to decide between Zidane and Henry. Both perform consistently at a high-level and always seem to be in form. Zidane may get the nod because of his age, but I honestly can't decide.

That's the point, the fact that he he has won it three times before, they should give ti to somebody else because there are others who perform right at his level or even better.

maybe, if not him then Zidane, it should go to someone who has actually won something significant this year (as in league title) i'm not knocking Arsenal, just stating the facts.

It's an individual award so Henry is definitely in the standing, and the Inter match just boosted his claims.

what i meant was he made an outstanding contribution to winning la liga, Henry was outstanding for the 1st half of the season in gaining 2nd place with Arsenal

It's just dawned on me about Nedved not being included. Why the hell not? He was inspirational and easily Juventus' best player when they won the Scudetto last season, and was the main man again in leading the side to the Champion's League final for which he was missing, and, boy, he was sorely missed. That's not even the end of it. He, awesomely, took the Czech Republic above the mighty Holland in the Euro 2004 qualifying stage. A superb acheivement, for sure.
What has Ronaldo done in comparision? Alright, he won the Liga (while hardly being Real's best player) with Real which many would agree Madrid were lucky to win. In the CL semi-final second leg, a Nedved-inspired Juventus totally outclassed Real Madrid.
It's clearly evident to me that Ronaldo was picked ahead of his reputation and not his performance in the last year. In my opinion, Henry; Zidane and Nedved should have been selected with the Czech star walking away with the prize on December 15th.

i think henry deserves it. Ronaldo is a more complete striker .. but i think henry had a stellar yr by his own peformances. Although Arsenal didnt achieve much last yr...loss the priemier league, crashed out of the CL..he was always consitent. Ronaldo won last yr mainly based on his recovery from injury then winning the world cup...cmon that takes heart and courage..and skill! ronaldo was the leading scorer for real madrid last yr ...he on top of the la liga scorers this yr....so it wont be so bad if he wins it for a 4th time...but what would be a nice gesture if ronaldo wins it ..he passes the medal to henry?
im surprised nedved didnt make it....although i believe zidane is still the best playmaker in the game....i think nedved had a better yr and was more crucial to his team then zidane.

this year nedved would have to win it, he took juve to the title, CL finals and czech to euro2K. on both his sides he is the MVP look how good juve is when he has an off night (like vs. inter). and i guess he was either the scorer or gave the assist for almost all of the goals of the CR in the quali. but he ain't from brazil or from france, he does not sell big time jerseys. these arwards are shit anyway, maradona won just once. says everything.

Henry is the best player atm, so its gotta be him!
im not saying it cuz i support arsenal tho :P just look at his performances..... movement, pace,skill, finishing, unselfishness (record assists)

i think ronaldo or Zidane... both players have pure class... dont get me wrong Henry has class but not as much class as Zidane or Ronaldo...
i think they should give it to Henry, he hasnt won before and he makes things work usually by doing it alone, whereas zidane and ronaldo play alongside worldclass players. it does make a diff.

Henry the next FIFA world player of the year? Yeah right! You all seem to be forgetting that an english premiership player has NEVER won the FIFA World Player of the year award while they're still playing for an english premiership team. Anyone remember Beckham in 99? He came 2nd to Rivaldo that year even though Beckham was playing the best football of his life!
Its a stupid thing FIFA does every year and I fully expect Ronaldo to get FIFA World player of the year this year.

Because this is last year's thread. They've only just announced this years list, I'm sure Ronaldinho will be in the final 3 this time around.
