Cup Competition Draws/Info

WCL

All group winners in the WCL will proceed to the Quarter-Final knockout stages. One lucky loser will also make the last 8. This will be the second placed team with the most points. If there's two or more teams with the same number of points, this will be judged on Goal difference. If that still can't settle it, there will be a play-off.

This is a round-robin tournament. All teams face each other once. In the knockout stages, it will be a one-off tie. Any draws will go into penalties.

Copa Liberados

Top 2 from each group qualify for the Semi-Finals. Group A winner faces Group B runner-up, and Group B winner faces the Group A runner-up. The group stages is another round-robin procedure.

The Semi-Finals will have 2 legs. This season, there will be a twist, to make things more interesting. You will have to use all 22 squad members over the 2 Semi-Final matches, therefore using 2 completely separate starting XI's. However, it is up to you to decide how to do this. Whether you want to go full strength for the 1st leg, and use your second string for the 2nd leg, vice versa, or whatever else.

WCL News

There's been a bit of confusion over who qualifies for the next stage of the WCL. As you can see in the first post, only the 7 group winners progress, along with 1 "lucky loser". Apologies for the confusion over this.

Hunter (Group G Winner)
Nedy OR Scarface OR O.J. OR Joel (Lucky Loser)

In Group E, there was nothing to choose between myself and Nedy, with us being on the same points, same goal difference and same head to head record (10-10 on votes) therefore we will need to use the playoff decider, to work out who progresses as group winner. The game will be played next Tuesday.

The loser of that match will then have a chance, along with Joel & O.J., of still going through as the "lucky loser". As all teams finished on the same number of points, this will be worked out on the vote difference over the group games.

eg If O.J. won a game by 13 votes to 9, he'd be on +4, if Joel won by 13 votes to 5, he'd be on +8. All the votes will be tallied, and the team with the best vote difference will take the final spot in the Quarter Finals.

As you might have seen in the schedule thread, there will be 2 legs in the Quarter final stages, with all 22 squad players being required to be used, so each team has completely different lineups in each match. More on this will be explained nearer the time.
