Hey ;)

Who does everyone think will win on sunday?
its probably gonna be the game of the season, i am going for 2-2 draw, i think man utd could win if they are on form and chelsea certainly have a great chance to win but i am going for a draw.

Man Utd Vs Arsenal should've been the game of the season but it turned out to be a boring 0-0 draw. This game shouldn't disappoint though. Chelsea are at home, I think they'll win but it certainly won't be easy. The score, 3-2 to Chelsea, with Duff being the star of the show (that’s if he starts).

Personally, I think Chelsea could edge United, considering it's at Stamford Bridge, but by what margin, I don't know. It will be small, that's for sure.

i just meant i think it would be a really good result to draw at stamford at the moment. so it would be "like a win"...do you see now?

Giggsy, do you think we can honestly hope for much more than a draw?

i think it would take a very good perormance for at least 80 mins of the match to win!! we haven't been getting those periods of dominance lately have we?

I think we can win, we just need to perform.
if we did win that would send out a great message to the rest of the premiership.

Hey c'mon guys! show a little optimism! Man United to win 4-2.

Who predicted we'd beat Newcastle 6-2 in their own back yard?

Or destroy Liverbore 4-0?

Or the Arse 6-1?

We can do it as long as everyones up for it! if they aint then watch out for Sir Alex 'the boot' Ferguson.

In all honesty i think we'll (Man United) do well to get a draw.
We haven't played particulary well so far this season (as if we ever play well before the new year :( ) and what with it being at the Bridge it isn't going to be easy.
My prediction though: 2-2

Chelsea are a good team with the a good squad. However I cant see them fighting a team (man utd) who have been gelling for a while now. Nevilles, Giggsy, Butt and Keane. 2-0 Man Utd.

I think that the best that united can hope for is a draw. I would say 2-1 or 1-1. no way united can win the game

i dont think tha cheslea will score more then 2 goals since man u's defence is wayy to guud. they've got tha best defenece record in tha premiership!

If Mutu and Crespo start then they'll be facing the best strike force in the Premiership. We'll see how well there defence copes then.

I am gutted

Man Utd loosing to a damn penalty, and a bleeding dive by cole, i new manutd woudn't score in those last moments, but we didn't deserve to loose, a draw would have been a fair result. :)

He may have exaggerated his fall, but there is no denying Keano got nothing of the ball

Yeah i guess your right but man utd deserved at least a point.

Zero shots on target doesn't constitute a score-draw in my opinion!

Chelsea dominated in the first twenty minutes, although our defence was looking a little dodgy. At first sight I though the penalty was a dive, but after looking at it for the 65th time thanks to Sky Sports, I changed my mind and Lampard tucked it away nicely.

In the second half ManYoo knocked it around quite nicely but van Nistelrooy and Forlan never got into enough space to make a difference, Terry and Gallas played really well. That was United's main downfall. And Forlan wasting that free kick on the left edge of the penalty box was criminal.

I'm still concerned about how useless Crespo and Mutu are looking as a partnership though. I was at the game on wednesday night and they couldn't find each other at all, CR should probably stick with Hasselbaink/Gudjohnsen-Mutu/Crespo or the old fashioned Hasselbaink-Gudjohnsen partnership.

Giggsy11

My point is Man Utd played well enough to earn a draw.

But how much of the player did he get? It's not the first time Joe Cole has dived to win a penalty. He got a penalty from nothing last season against Arsenal. There's no way that Keane's contact would have made Cole fall-over, it was the dive that won the penalty.

But there's no doubt Chelsea deserved that win. A 1-0 win is a good reflection on the game... can't say the same thing about Arsenal vs. Fulham.

It was a penalty, he may have exaggerated but it was still a foul.

My point is Man Utd played well enough to earn a draw.

As much as i hate to say it, a draw wouldn't really have been a fair result, we didn't have a single shot on target and never really looked like scoring, whereas Chelsea did. We didn't play especially badly, we just didn't deserve a point, unfortunatley :(

In my paper it says we had 1 shot on target, we defended well and the winning goal was contraversial, but chelsea did create better chances which Howard did well to save alot of them.

its hard to complain at the defeat, but i'll have a go....;) nah, Chelsea edged it, Cole's fall was exhaggerated, but still a peno. we will rise again...

I just thought if man utd had won that game, the chelsea fans will have been the most gutted they have been for a while, i would have loved a framed picture of the chelsea crowd if man utd had of scored a goal!

Darth Daft
02-12-2003, 01:16
Yep, we deserved nothing, Ronaldo looked good when he came on though, maybe soon peole will stop saying "he's too young" or "he needs time". He has played a LOT for us already considering, and has rarely played badly.

The consolation for Utd?? We have lost 3 games already this season, are behind two teams that have been beaten only once between them, yet we are only 4pts off the top. I really believe we are still well placed for the post xmas charge that will land us the title. Hopefully........ ;)

When we lost like seven home games, we where only 3 points behind arsenal then, so if you can still be at the top and loose 7 games at home anythings possible. :)

MatPhillips
03-12-2003, 21:40
losing 7 home games in one season is 6 too many for United!

Old Trafford aint the fortress it used to be!

i think things started going down hill when the fear factor was lost!

3 or 4 years ago a home match was 75% won before the opposition got off the coach cos they were sh*ttin themselves!

Giggsy11
03-12-2003, 22:38
Yeah i agree, but u can still pretty much guarantee united will win when they play at home.

MatPhillips
03-12-2003, 23:56
true, but they aren't playing great this year (still best start to a prem season, go figure)

Giggsy11
03-12-2003, 23:59
It's because they have been getting scrappy 2-1 wins not huge 5-0 drubbings, the opening day was ok-4-0 against bolton and beating leicster 3-1 and RVN scoring a hat-rick :D

MatPhillips
04-12-2003, 00:08
the battling results are the best, as i really dont think Arsenal are capable of grinding out that many hard fought matches a year. so that's where we gain most points on them!

its just hard on the fans hearts when you have to wait til the 94th minute to know if you've won or not!

sheringham316
04-12-2003, 00:20
united are now out for a striker!! its about FUCKIN time!! They've been sayin tha for ages but i think sumthings finally gonna be done!! i hear tha there interested in SHEV :eek; though i wouldnt get over excited cause they said this last year too :(
lets hope they get sum kinda big name :)

Is this in reference to anyone in particluar? If it is Kleberson you are referring to he is hardly a CF

Giggsy11

no it ain't actualy, although it could apply for ronaldo, but no its not related to anyone.

MatPhillips
04-12-2003, 23:20
it wont be a HUGE name cos they are all cup tied for Champs league!

so it would be Defoe/Saha, who
1-aren't United material yet and
2-are not worth the touted £10-£15million

so they would be sitting on the bench/ have a season to "improve" as mentioned earlier.

here's an idea. can we try naming the non cup tied players who would make a difference... i'll go first....nope, i'm out! ;)

no seriously who could we buy available for champs league?!?

Defoe
Saha
OWEN....(elligible for champ league eh liverpool fans?:D :D)
Alan Smith (i dont like him and as an avid leeds fan, not likely)

MatPhillips
04-12-2003, 23:23
also heard Anelka floated around quite strongly for £20million!

although keegan said "why would we sell him at a quater of his value"

MatPhillips
08-12-2003, 23:08
i guess no responses means you all cant think of anyone?

Anelkas a great player but no player is worth 80million.

yeah, but look at the Dutch National team! in there own words they struggle to play with each other!

maybe if they played week in week out for a few months to get an understanding going?
