View Full Version : Premiership Champions
Who do you think will win the Premiership?
I reckon Arsenal
Man Utd again but not until Arsenal throw it away like last season!
IMO Chelsea have the best squad this season, e.g. look at their strikers: Hasselbaink, Mutu, Crespo and Gudjohnson. If they lost one through injury they're well backed up by quality. If United lost VN or Arsenal lost Henry though...
Haven't been particularly impressed with United's new signings to be honest. C. Ronaldo (like Forlan) seems to give possession away far too regularly, although perhaps with the style of his play (i.e. running at defenders) this may be inevitable. Bellion is OK, but a bit 'simple.' Djemba looked very good in the charity shield match although perhaps he likes his cross field ball a little too much. Howard is the exception really, he has been fantastic providing at last some stability behind the defence.
I think United have the better team, although Arsenal have better individuals. They could go all the way if they play together better. If they go out of the CL early again they'll be able to concentrate on the Prem more (although they'll prob get into the UEFA cup). Henry is on fire at the mo, just hope he hasn't peaked too early...
If Chelsea can keep their squad happy I think they'll have a good chance. These one-nil wins they keep getting show signs of a championship winning side - not playing too well, but still winning. I think a lot will depend on their results against the big sides. We'll just have to see today (they're playin United today in case you've been living in a cave recently), bu tthey've already lost to Arsenal this season, and I think it was United's results against the big teams that really mattered last season

I thoroughly agree with Mambo... sure C.Ronaldo has a lot of skill he doesn't seem to know how to quite use it.. but that will come with mautrity... Howard has been one of Man U's best players this season...
Chelsea in my opnion have the squad depth and talent to win it... whether they do or not depends... i feel on how they cope with pressure of the last few weeks... That is where Arsenal and Man Utd. have the edge...
Who ever wins will only win it just...
It's anyone's guess at the moment. This is what I think.
Best squad: Chelsea
Best fighters: Man Utd
Best starting eleven: Arsenal
I would say Arsenal have the edge. Arsenal are capable of playing better football than the other two but there's the query of consistency. Chelsea have good players but not someone of the calibre of Henry. Man Utd IMO don't match up as well on paper but seem to match it on the field. In the end I think Henry might just prove the difference.

Heart says United, Head says Arsenal, foot says Chelsea, but i dont listen to him since it told me England would win the last Cricket ashes! ;)
If Man U invest well in January, they have every chance, if not, Arsenal, i just dont see the chelsea thing

i like him bursting forward from CMF to aid Van Nistelrooy and Shevchenko up front...oh sorry, dreaming again, Van Nistelrooy and Forlan :(
i'd like to see £10-£15 million spent on Vieiri in Jan (no more than that at his age) who else is "available". i dont see what Defoe could do for us, i think he would be a mistake!

It's too early to decide. Based on current form though, you'd have to say Arsenal. However, Utd always come good in the second half of the season. Chelsea will be there amongst them but I think the best they could hope for is 3rd place.
I reckon it'll be Man Utd's year again this time, with close competition from Chelsea relegating Arsenal to third spot.

Yeah Shev sounds like a great idea to me!
The thing that is so attractive about Defoe (other than his football talents) is that he would be eligable for the Champions League unnlike Vieri and co. Don't forget either, Defoe may not be Vieri, but he is improving all the time and lets face it he's a mile better than Forlan
Defoe and Forlan are both getting better, tgo i still think defoe is Crap!!!!

As an outsider looking in I think Chelsea will win the Premiership, but poor Claudio Ranieri appears to be heading for a Vicente del Bosque style sacking for no reason

right now, (but I agree its way too early) but the Arse have never looked like getting beat. Except for that shit Penalty and OT...And for all the talk earlier this year that we might implode cause we didn't buy anyone..
arsenal r gonna win....
ppl say arsenals squad is weak?
cant be too bad if the team we fielded against inter milan was relatively weak with viera lauren campbell and bergkamp not playin...
p.s aladiairre is the next henry ;)

FUCK yeah he is and people underestimate the depth of the Arsenal squad, it is the deepest in the Premire League. So Man U Diego Birtles may be playing well now but come February he'll be back in his regular form
dunno, i guess it will be man utd though, they r so lucky, they annoy me, but i recon they will win it

United's flag is deepest red,
It shrouded all our Munich dead,
Before their limbs grew stiff and cold,
Their heart's blood dyed it's ev'ry fold.
Then raise United's banner high,
Beneath it's shade we'll live and die,
So keep the faith and never fear,
We'll keep the Red Flag flying here.
We'll never die, we'll never die,
We'll never die, we'll never die,
We'll keep the Red flag flying high,
'Cos Man United will never die
It is the sound of inevitability
Who the f*** are man united?
who the f*** are man united?
need i say more?
