Chelsea have the money to lure him and i think he would be a great addition... but i dont know if he would go to stamford bridge... if he did it would the pommy version of Real Madrid... and i think they would be good for a trebble in the next few years if he did...

actually i really would like that he goes to inter, they could need him playing up-left. but i guess he promised milan not to sign with any italian team. maybe barca?

i think arsenal...arsenal dont have an attacking playmaker like rivaldo...real madrid would be nice but they have atleast 3 playmakers in that team including the best Zidane...although okocha is the bright light of bolton..some bigger team should get his services in january..he's awesome!

Giggsy11
01-12-2003, 19:08
I think Rivaldo would be ok at Madrid, just think....

Zidane, Beckham,Figo and Rivaldo :)

He should go to Man Utd. That would be the right step for the team.. btw. this should be discussed in football forum.

Rivaldo at liverpool all the way, they need a player of rivaldos quality to boost the energy of the team. Also if l'pool do succed in the signing of Djibril Cisse then there could be a promising season ahead for them.

Man U. this year seem to be lacking something.. Nistelrooy and Forlan dont seem to have the space they need to do much...

Giggsy11
01-12-2003, 19:17
There lacking another world-class striker for van nistlerooy and..of course....Beckham. :(

btw..can someone move this to the football forum?

i think arsenal...arsenal dont have an attacking playmaker like rivaldo...

What about Pires, Henry or even Bergkamp? They are the definitions of attacking playmakers...

f3n1xtx
01-12-2003, 19:23
Kewell is more of a left sided AM. whereas rivaldo is more central and i think dropping gerrad back to holding role and rivaldo, kewell, diouf should be enough for liverpool to get the fourth spot

Giggsy11
01-12-2003, 19:31

Henry and Bergamp are strikers and Pires is a Winger, they need someone like Zidane in the centre who can create attacks.

Yes, someone can move this to the Football section but people should know where to post stuff by now.

pires is the biggest fake artist since klinsman...he goes down from a feather..hmm i regard him as more of a winger..not a central playmaker..bergkamp..he's past his prime, can do some magnificent touches though..rivaldo is in a class of his own...arsenal would be lucky to get his services..actually any primiere league team!

yeh thats an awesome combo..but hmm to many playmakers..dont forget raul..i think he kinda of a playmaker (sits behind ronaldo) then a scorer lately. Ronaldinho would be a better fit at real i think then rivaldo..he has the qualities of real madrid...spontanious, good to watch! In England i think either Arsenal or Liverpool would be good teams for Rivaldo.

I would love to see Rivaldo playing for us but it isn’t going to happen. Even though we’d get him free, he’d want 4 or 5 million a year but Liverpool would never pay him that much. Arsenal wouldn’t be able to afford him either. They’ve had to offload several players on loan this season so they could lower there wage bill.

I wouldn't like to see him at Arsenal. I have a feeling he'll bring a very negative side of him to the team, in the dressing room and otherwise. He is world-class however and would be perfect for playing just behind Henry, considering this is Bergy's last season in the game.

Rivaldo....to Man U. i would love it, love it if we bought him! (to plaguerize Keegan just a little bit)
he's been my favourite of all favourite players for 5-6 years! maybe more. love the guy, he's a genius. not sure if they want him though...:(

to Liverpool...isn't he on something like 160k a year? they cant afford that/attract him surely!

01-12-2003, 23:27
i would love him to come to man u aswell i think hes top!! though this isnt ever happening. If hes going anywhere its gonna be chelsea. for all tha right reasons
hes gettin paid tha amount he wants
he wants to go there himself
they wont expect him to play for a real long time eaither
plus hes gonna have other fantastic players surrounding him!

MatPhillips
01-12-2003, 23:35
i know he wont join United, Chelsea seam to be the only team that Want him AND could afford his wages

Giggsy11
01-12-2003, 23:38
160k a year?

did u put that right, what he gets a year will be millions!

he should go back to barca for a season or 2 then call it a day, OR, he could come to a 1st division club in Stoke ;)

he may well go to a brazilian club for the last few seasons of his career.

i've heard interest from far eastern clubs where most legends go, easy league, loadsa money! sweet deal no?

There aren't many clubs he could go to really IMO.

Barcelona - bleak possibility. Although they got rid of him because of his wage bill and would he really want to go there again? It's like a step back.

Real Madrid - Would indeed match his wage bill, but even greedy Perez surely knows that there is no room for him in the team... unless they want to play 2-5-1-2 formation lol.

Man Utd - Fits the bill for what they need, they can afford wages. But... would Ferguson have such a premadona in his side? He would probably have a negative effect on the dressing room atmosphere, although Keano would sort him out no probs :)

Chelsea - Can definately afford wages, although having said he wants to go there (supposedly,) would he want to be part of that kind of rotation system.

Arsenal - Have made it clear in the past they are not willing to break their wage structure and were extremely tight-fisted when agreeing Vieira's new deal I understand? I expect he got a good deal in the end though...

Liverpool - I personally don't class them as a big enough club for him. Forget their history, they're not part of the elite Premiership clubs and haven't shown much sign of mixing it up with them. Wages again might be a problem, and let's face it I don't think he'll ever knock Emile Heskey from his position there on his current form :D

Doubt his contract will allow him to go to another Italian club anyway, but Inter no way. You might as well count Swansea as having a better chance than Inter of getting him.

Qatar!!! that's it, sorry i couldn't think of it yesterday! thats where most high paid players go to finish off while earning a huge retiement fund (Batistuta for one)
Dubai also

Rivaldo was offered $1m a month to play in Qatar, that's according to his agent.

$1m a month (http://www.soccerage.com/en/13/r7878.html)

Would you say no to that?

I think he shopuld go to villa, we dont have a creative midfielder, unfortunatley we wont be able 2 afford his wages unless daedly doug goes mental.

Seriously now, i think he should move to the prem. Not to Chelsea, they already have plenty of talent, not to arsenal coz theyre dirty, not 2 birmingham either 4 that matter coz theyre even worse than arsenal. I reckon Newcastle will be peerfect 4 rivaldo, and rivaldo perfect 4 newcastle.

I'd like to see Rivaldo play the Premiership, even if he doesn't join us. He's still a quality player and a real joy to watch. It would be good for the league because it'd attract many more world class players to the EPL.
