Basicly looked around threads and theres no House Music threads about.

Im a big lover of house music whether it be Funky/Electro/Dirty/Deep or even a bit of chavved up Scouse or Bassline house. Go whenever I can and usually end up in Mission in Leeds.

Well, the purposes of this thread are:
Discuss house music old and new.
Heard a tune in the club but no idea what its called? I'll do my best to help you find the name of it.
Upcoming House nights in your area or (illegal) raves!

thanks!

Sorry I thought you meant music you listen to in your house. I shall now leave.

I guess Klaxons might be classed in this genre, although I wouldn't (class them as such).

I guess my favourite dance tune would be either "Move Your Body" by Marshall Jefferson, or "Only Love Can Break Your Heart" by St. Etienne.

TECHNO! TECHNO! TECHNO! TECHNO!

TESCO! TESCO! TESCO! TESCO!

Well yeah, think there electronic/E-clash, but its all good!
Edit: Move your body is classic though, reminds me of San Andreas!

You should check out Way Out West's Call Me amongst others by them and the two recent solo releases from Jody Wisternoff, Nostalgia and Cold Drink, Hot Girl. Not sure if recent Global Underground releases mixed by the other Way Out West DJ, Nick Warren, are any good though.

Just checked out Cold Drink, Hot Girl. Sounds sweet man.

Few electro tracks heard friday night

Sebastien Leger & Chris Lake - Aqualight
Bump - I'm Rushing (Dave Spoon Remix)
Sebastien Léger - Take your pills (club mix) (very dirty track!)

Just heard sample of 'cold drink, hot girl' sounds wicked, gonna pick it up from HTFR when in Birmingham next week.

I've got some others though not sure if they strictly fit into House or go towards other genres.

Lifelike & Kris Menace - Discopolis
Mason - Exceeder (the vocal version with Princess Superstar is horrible)
Shena - Electrosexual (Michael Gray Vocal Mix)
Stanton Warriors feat. Eska - Still Here (Club Mix)

Will try and download some of the ones mentioned when I get a chance. Can upload some too if you require. Just can't post the links in this thread, only in the Elite section or via PM.

Liking Discopolis and mason (theyve ruined it bodyrox luciana vocal style) But same here Sweey, if you want aNY pm'ing, just ask away mate.
Looks like my collection is gonna be be boosted by this thread!

Tom Hades - Eclectic Twist (dark electro sound to it)

Sweey

I originally hated the vocal version of Yeah Yeah but now I can't listen without Luciana's vocals. Acquired taste I guess. Presently doing some downloading...

Sebastien Leger is headlining Purrfect Electro at Mission, Leeds Feb 16th.
He is one shit hot producer at the moment with "take your pills" and aqualight", did a bit of rummaging and also found "little bug"

So anyone getting pissed off at all our tunes last year being commercially released with awful vocals to sell them? i.e Bodyrox, Mason? Also the Fedde le Grande track, played too fucking much if you ask me.

oh and thanks Muss (or Sweey??) for the Cold Drink, Hot Girl track. Its become a big fave of mine

Sweey

Never liked the Fedde Le Grand track. The girls at work who like house music absolutely love it but I just can't get into it.

ih8puppies, hopefully the two Jody Westernoff solo tracks are a sign of Way Out West's forthcoming album.

Lately I've been getting into electronic music even more than before, and I prefer house/electro or things like that. I'm not totally sure about the genres and all though. Some of the stuff I listen to might go into the new rave genre.

Some of my favourite artists are Daft Punk, Röyksopp & Faithless.

Recent favourites include Justice, SebastiAn, Mstrkrft, Hot Chip, Shinichi Osawa, Surkin& others..

Good to see we've got a few members into their House Music here.

Found an extremely hard to get hold of Dirty track tonight.
The team of Felix Da housecat and P.Diddy with the suprisingly brilliant Jack Music

Most of the MOS stuff is just too commercial for me, just overly radio friendly to be really good music. Even the really good tracks are mixed into boring short versions.

If you like Mos that much, you should get some Hed Kandi compilations.Every Sunday night without fail you would see me and the lads in Stereo at Newcastle with it being the Hed Kandi night, the players were often seen there all the time as well like. Then they fucked it up and moved it to shitty Beyond. :realmad:

One song I've just come across and absolutely love is Into The Lite by Office Gossip. Why You by The Loose Cannons is also good and both are from Hed Kandi - Nu Cool 2007. Warrior by Andy Caldwell and Ridin' by Amp Fiddler are others I like from that compilation but are probably more of an acquired taste.

ATB - Let U Go (Tocadisco Doesn't Give a Rat's Ass Mix)

EMIX/D LEWIS - Stereocrash (Paolo Bolognesi remix)

Will Bailey - Freak (2007 Simma Mix)

Brums very own Will Bailey, very exciting producer, was at a gig of his last year and he tore the place up, one to watch.

Not really house but mashings of indie, techno, 8bit.......I have no idea what to classify these as.

Crystal Castles

Heres a short clip of Alice practice;

Try anything by Office Gossip if you get a chance or I'll transfer a couple of tracks to you if you require. I think some of it is classed as Deep House which has a lower BPM than House.

yeh, any house is welcome here, i love the old bomb the basslines and some niche but not really feeling the 4x4. One track I reccomend highly is :
Murray And The Boy - Unreleased Original Version Of Warning, really hard hitting wobbler (you can download on the club silk site)

Aside from the fact iTunes disgusts me, you've made the exact same post again. Do so once more and I'll happily book you.

If anyone wants good house/electronic music, they should download any Office Gossip tracks they can find along with Jody Wisternoff's Way Out There sets (particularly July 2007, September 2007) and his Genre Show set from September 2007 from www.hybridized.org which, legally, allows the free download of hundreds of DJ sets. Also worth downloading Nick Warren's set Live at Lush which is utterly fantastic.

Uploading at the moment, 150MB. Will post the link later. The sound volume on Pondus will be lower than the rest as it isn't out until late this year and I haven't amplified the volume on the source I got it from.

Well you can't really go wrong with DJ Hazard, High Contrast or Roni Size. DJ Hazard is quite heavy and great for raving. His best known song is 'Mr Happy' but I also recommend 'Machete' and 'Busted' in particular. High Contrast is a bit calmer, liquid drum and bass. I recommend 'Racing Green', 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang', 'If We Ever' and 'Days Go By' (which is a remix of 'Edge of Seventeen' by Stevie Nicks). Roni Size is the leader of Reprazent but also does solo stuff and he's very influenced by funk, soul and jazz. I'd download 'Brown Paper Bag' and 'Bite The Bullet'.

A few more tracks I'm liking at the moment you might want to check out:
Adam F - Circles
Omni Trio - Renegade Snares
Jonny L - Back To Your Roots
Cyantific, Dillinja, London Elektricity & Robert Owens - Different Drum
2 Bad Mice - Bombscare

Good tracks I've come across in the last couple of weeks:

Jaytech - Vela (Original Mix, Tritonal Air Up There Mix, Myon & Shane 54 Remix and Electrobios & Interplay Remix are all worth checking out)

*Kevin Saunderson - Rock To The Beat (Christian Smith and John Selway Remix)

*Matt Cerf and Jaren Mitiska - You Never Said (both the original mix and Dash Berlin remix, the latter is heavy on the trance element)

**Kid Massive feat. Yota - Just Want U (Club Mix)

**Richard Grey feat. Kaysee - Crash On You

**Love Bubble vs Paradise 45 - Give Me Love

*Trance
**Hed kandi

If anyone can find the last track for download, link me to it. I've got all the others.
