I love the way Peter Jackson made Lord of the Rings trilogy, its really great. And of course Quentin have made some great movies. And Steven with Jurassic Park, AI etc.etc So there a lot of great directors. But finally I decided to pick Peter for his great Lord of the Rings films!!

Jerry Brukenheimer is a good director. Definately "up there" with the best of the rest!

That's because he's a producer.

Best director ever? For me it's a tie between Stanley Kubrick and Akira Kurosawa.

Tarantino for me, probably because its the era where in! Lucas was class with his 3 original star wars films nothing like that had ever been done back then, same for Speilberg he took it one step further and created something never seen before, Jurssaic Park was amazing! Although films are impressive these days they have technology which is so far advanced it does make it easier for the, just got to look at the matrix 2 & 3 if they were visually poor there would be something sadly wrong!

Where's Martin Scorsese !

He changed cinema, his use of music, his trademark slow motion, the way he captures speech, the use of the camera.

The actor's he has brought to the screens shows he knows about film and talent.

Mean Streets Rules !!

Stanley Kubrick's up there and
Francis Ford Coppolla
Quentin Tarantino

Oliver Stones' good but he's a prat in interviews and that whole thing about JFK being made up even though he, along with everyone, knew it would become the main source for most Americans. And whats that stupid advert about for the DVD recorder.

Anyone know who directed 'bullet in your head' with chow yun fat, because on the basis of that one film I'd put them in my top 10.

And the Coen Brothers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, not enough room.

Fair enough, apologies for their lack of inclusion.

He only directed Star Wars. Irvin Kershner did Empire and another guy did jedi. He did helm Ep's I and II though!

I chose Tarantino because of his snappy action and great characters with biting dialogue. Awesome.

Are you referring to the movie about three friends from Hong Kong who went to war time Saigon to do business in the black market? If you are, than that movie is called Bullet in the Head in it was directed by John Woo and Chow Yun Fat was not in it.

If that's not your movie than I don't know what is.

Thinking about it thats probably it, it does seem like a John Woo film, and I saw it ages ago so I was only guessing Chow yun Fat was in it. Cheers Geekboy.
