Gamestation are right crafty bastards. They had an advert saying pre-order with us and receive 500 free microsoft points along with 4 exclusive GTA gamerpictures so I pre-ordered a couple of months ago just checked my basket and it says subtotal £47.98 savings £0.00 there expecting me to pay for them now. Why couldn't this game have come out in October or a couple of months ago? my GCSE's start May 14th amd I'm just gonna get addicted to this and be playing it non stop.

There are loads of familiar gameplay features that are from previous; such as the 'infamous' random person tries hunting you down and ends up punching someone else.

I'm heading to my local asda tonight at 12 with a friend. should be ace if we manage to get a copy. He's looking for a ps3 copy whereas im 360. Apparently asda have been quoted as saying the ps3 copies are outselling 360 3-1 so it should be easy enough for me to get a copy tonight ;)

If you look in the manual there's a little advert with a phone number, if you use this number while listening to a song you like but don't know it's title they send you a text with the name of the song.
Pretty cool.
In the US isn't there a feature which allows you to download songs from amazon to use in-game??

Was taking a stroll through Glasgow city centre, there were decent sized queues outside most of the game shops/hmv's/zavvi's that I passed.
My asda had 81 ps3 copies and 82 360 copies for some reason. Managed to bag me one of the 360 copies without pre-ordering. I have a pre-ordered copy though that will be with me soon then it'll be getting sold on ebay :)

This is without doubt the greatest game ever. Its just fucking incredible. Highlights so far include going out of the windscreen, and those guys hanging onto your car dying in agony. This is art.
Of course I immediately changed the controls to classic. Only problem is the game seems a little too dark. Can anyone recommend the best brightness/contrast settings? I've upped the brightness a bit but I'm still not entirely happy with it.
Online looks like we can have hours and hours of fun. Awesome game.

I went down on the beach and underneath something (not sure what it was exactly) there were a bunch of tramps, and I gave them money. I was really hoping they would rumble me but no such luck. Has anyone been rumbled without actually instigating a fight yet?
Oh and I love how Police continue to put loads of bullets in you even when you're dead.

The Multiplayer on the PS3 is very user friendly too. Very surprised but also very pleased.

I went down on the beach and underneath something (not sure what it was exactly) there were a bunch of tramps, and I gave them money. I was really hoping they would rumble me but no such luck. Has anyone been rumbled without actually instigating a fight yet?
Oh and I love how Police continue to put loads of bullets in you even when you're dead.
I was in the strip club with Roman & the bouncers started scrapping with me for no reason after my dance. Thinking about it I might have not paid for my dance. Does the money come out automatically for lap dances?
I tried to cross the bridge and was swarmed with police and swat guys, nearly made it across, but they blew me to shit. Pretty cool so far.

My brother is playing it, as it was given to him for his birthday, and with the Champions League game on tonight and the fact that tomorrow is a Dutch holiday and I'll be in Amsterdam means I probably won't be playing it.
Perhaps about half an hour after dinner.

Mate every kid should play this game, its the stuff of legend. If I was younger and my parents didn't buy it for me I'd probably be more driven to violence (i.e. killing them) by that rather than through actually playing the game.
I got my Special Edition earlier on before Lunch time and all I can say is so far so good. I'm really enjoying it. I'd say it definitely has the potential to be the best GTA yet, by the time I open up Times Square and other Islands, i'd have a better idea. I haven't tryed out Multiplayer yet but I intend to try that out after i've finished the story.
But yeah, it's a great game at the moment, and i'm really glad that I spent my money on it.
EDIT: I completely agree, Barndoor. I'm obviously under-aged but as you said, everyone should play the game.

Regardless of the content though, when you're a kid, and REALLY into games, this is the kind of game you dream about.
OMG this game rules sooo much...
Single player is awesome at the moment if a little slow..
Online is great only played free mode so far but still awesome no lag at all..

Mig, what type of game was that i joined online earlier on? I didn't have a clue what was going on, i just kept getting mowed down by Andy in his car.
This is without doubt the greatest game ever. Its just fucking incredible. Highlights so far include going out of the windscreen, and those guys hanging onto your car dying in agony. This is art.
Of course I immediately changed the controls to classic. Only problem is the game seems a little too dark. Can anyone recommend the best brightness/contrast settings? I've upped the brightness a bit but I'm still not entirely happy with it.
A cheat I found, it alters the weather/brightness of the game.
Open your phone and type this number in: 4685550100

I just discovered the internet cafe and spent a good half hour on it. One of the sites I stumbled upon was a trap site to catch paedos. :laugh: I got an instant 4 star wanted level and the SWAT blew me to bits instantly. :/
How do the dating sites work btw? Do you create a profile or need a photo of yourself or something?

I can't remember the exact site. I clicked on the random search bar and the description was something like; "Children's beauty pageant pictures"
I also found youtube and myspace like sites, but it seems you can't watch the uploaded videos\view any pix. Some of the comments are hilarious though.

Anyone else a little disappointed with the radio stations? I've only really found the Eastern European one to be any good. They'll grow on me, but nothing will compare to Billy Jean blearing out when you first get in a car (or on the scooter) on Vice City. :O

Ah you bastard, I was going to have them as my avatar or sig. That show is hilarious! I spent about an hour straight watching the TV. Ricky Gervais does a bit of stand up. I also like The Men's Room, especially Bas.
I was a bit disappointed with the radio stations too. I've only enjoyed IF99, Libery Rock, Electro and Radio Broker.
Is anyone starting to get problems with landing on the mission arrows? I've gone on a few recently and none are responding.
What is everyone's favourite game mode online so far???

By far my favourite moment on the game so far was doing the drug deal with Little Jacob, waiting for the 3 guys to come out the back I drove at them and clipped one, ran another into a wall who died. Got out the car, shot the guy running away twice in the back, turned to the guy who I half hit with the car and shot him in the chest then walked over to the guy I'd shot in the back and kicked him to death.
Pretty violent but fucking cool at the same time. Great game.

Yeah, I noticed that when doing a mission for Mikhail Faustin. I didn't see if you could chase them down, but I think I'll try it.

I think I killed him earlier than I was meant to (shotgun to the back just as he climbed a ladder onto the buildings) and he just fell down the gap and nothing was said except the thumbs up icon and a phonecall later. :unsure: Was class though. :smug:

I chased him all the way. Eventually he runs out of rooftops to jump on, you back him up to the edge he slips and is holding on the edge with one hand. You then have an option whether to kill him or let him live.

Has anyone managed to get in an FBI car yet? I haven't. :/ I can't even get near them.
Also, cooking grenades and then running into a big crowd of people is awesome.
Another thing, how are you meant to save pix on your camera-phone or does it unlock later or something?

You don't need to unlock anything. Just get to the train station where you chased the guy off the platform and turn right and keep driving.
Yeah but it easy to get a 6 star wanted level when the bridges are blocked..

You can't, the cam-phone is used only during missions, you can receive some images during a mission telling you for instance to kill that guy or crook, download it into the police car and the PC will find the crook for you.
It's actually a nice feature.
Anyone know where to get the gloves that Niko wears in all the trailer's I can't seem to find them in any of the shops...

After starting GTA for the first time yesterday ive concluded that San Andres is better.
Fucking russian accents ruin it for me aswell. I need to see if subtitles can be added.

I haven't made it to Algonquin yet, and I can't wait. I've tried driving my way through the barriers, but I keep getting blown to smithereens.
I've just lost nearly a week on this & today is the first time i've seen the light of day since last thursday. Man it's addictive. Not without it's issues mind, the swinging chase camera when driving cars is a touch annoying, but the bonnet can view makes up for it.
As for Lil' Jacob, the man is a dude. Although I wish the guy would shell out and get a cab sometimes instead of calling me for a bloody lift when i'm miles away.

hah, he's not the only one mate, they all call you to pick them out when you want to go somewhere with them..
The best advice I give you is to take cabs.. it's the fastest way to get there.
Already on the cab malarkey. Not much else to spend the cash on after all...
jacob is the only one pestering for lifts though. Brucie just wants to play in his chopper & Roman whinges for a drink. Only one whose a 'good' friend is Dwayne & he never calls :crymore:
