View Full Version : n00b question..
This is my 1st post on this board, so please bare with me if my question is n00bish.. :D
my friend backed-up his copy of we6fe for me, but he aint into the whole patchin deal, so i thought id ask here... will i be able to pacth my backed up copy of we6fe?? will patches like the dynamo and wedoit ones work with my backed up version? And if so.... is there somewhere i can go for a patching toturial??
Thanks in advance!
Look on issextreme and evoweb their stood some tutorials to patch we;fe. And i think you back-up will work with a patch (i think.
ok! ill have a look!
Thanks for the quick response!
Yeah, your backup can be patched. Keep the original backup though, because everytime you want to try a new patch you must make an image of the original WE6FE
I don't think anyone would throw it away, but that is good advice.
k thanx guys... i appriciate the quick response!
Talk of owning and patching a backup copy of a game where you do not own a legal original copy does kind of cross some legalities and I'm sure we don't want to step into illegal distribution etc etc.
Should have really stuck with the story "I have made a backup copy...." ;)
the only reason he backed it up for me was so i could apply patches for him, as he doesnt have a high-speed connection... i even helped him order the original game via lik sang... i told him about the posibilty of patching, and i offered to d/l patches and apply them for him... but he wanted to still be able to play the game while i was trying to patch it, so he backed it up for me to patch for him... as i said, he is not into the whole patching-thing... he didnt know where to go or what to do about patches... i didnt know much about it myself.. which is why i made this thread
I guess i wasnt clear enough in my first post...
STC :D :D :D
The reasons may make sense but it is still dodgy in a legal sense so saying less is better.
