The Clash - I Fought The Law
The Who - Summertime Blues
A personal favourite is the Supergrass' cover of "Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others" - originally by the Smiths.
I've always liked:
Muse - Can't Take My Eyes Off You
and
Save Ferris - Come On Eileen

Don't judge them by what you've heard on the radio/tv or whatever it is you have in Australia.

Scumbags! That song is a materpiece. Pure Led Zepp.
Reuben (Brighton band - nearly famous) did a cover of "Feel Good Inc" which was damn good.
Guns 'n' Roses cover of "Yesterdays" is awesome.
AC/DC coverd "School Days" by Chuck Berry. You have to like AC/DC & Chuck Berry and listen to both songs to understand.
Nirvana's cover of "The Man Who Stole The World" makes me almost like Bowie.
Motorhead coverd "Louie Louie" on the Ace of Spades album - very good cover.
Eagles of Death Metal coverd "Addicted To Love" which has to be heard to be believed.
Am sure I'll think of some more later.

Wonderwall by Ryan Adams is pretty decent.
Partly because I'm going through/updating my music collection & just hit the M's but mainly because the Black album was shit, and since Plaster of Muppetts was the last half decent stuff they did... Motorhead just brought the 'metal' back to an over-comercialised piece of crap.

and came across some awesome memories of one of the greatest piss-take metal bands ever. The infamous Lawnmower Deth. Those who have had the pleasure will know of whom I speak and will remember such classics as "Can I Cultivate Your Groinal Garden?", "Flying Killer Cobs from the Planet Bob" and " Drunk in Charge of an Ugly Face", before they toned things down with the almost serious album, Billy.
