- Is Foster my best keeper?
Yes, I think so.
- Are my full backs good enough? Solid, but not anything to shout about.
- Would vBommel and Perrotta be my best midfield pairing?
Perrotta would have been better off on the other team. It's a strong partnership indeed, I can't see you improving it with your current squad, Perrotta is especially good.
- Are my wingers comfortable in their positions? I think they'd work there, though perhaps a 4-4-2 would be more suited.
- Can Podolski play as a lone striker? Would Ashton be better suited? I'd think Ashton would be better, but I'm not keen on either them as out and out strikers.
- The system itself is fine, although it's clear to see I think that...
- I really don't know.
- Ambrosini is solid enough. I can't say I know too much about Brocchi.
- I remember saying this to you before: if the person voting doesn't know a great deal about Italian football (like me) then you are in trouble.

Haha, yes I've gone and made it worse for myself, but I'm hoping people will take note of Sweey's information. As for Brocchi he is a regular in the AC Milan team and plays DM/CM can put in tackles but is also comfortable on the ball. Similar to Ambrosini.
Maybe put a link to the Serie A player rating's with your formation with the matches so people get more of a idea?

Not a bad idea at all.

Yossi:
- Is Foster my best keeper?
Yeah.
- Are my full backs good enough?
For D1, not that great.
- Would vBommel and Perrotta be my best midfield pairing?
Yeah. Perrotta is quality, but I have issues with VB. He's good, but can lose his rag.
- Are my wingers comfortable in their positions?
I would go for Bentley over Higuain, and maybe Higuain or Aimar behind the striker.
- Can Podolski play as a lone striker? Would Ashton be better suited?
I don't like him much. Ashton would be better.
Original?:
- What do you think of the '4-5-1' system?
I think that's the best you can go for. Even with 4-4-2, Del Piero is likely to drop back a bit anyway to pick up the ball for the DMs. Ambrosini will naturally make forward runs and contribute sometimes with headed goals.
- Di Natale or Di Michele?
I don't remember which one I liked better.
- Brocchi and Ambrosini solid in the middle?
Very.
- Biggest area with room for improvement?
I'm not too familiar with the CBs I'm afraid. And maybe left-wing.

Original?'s questions:
- What do you think of the '4-5-1' system? Excellent with your personnel. Lots of versatility from the three support players and Rocchi is an excellent all-round centre forward giving you amazing offensive strength. Di Natale isn't lazy either so he'd get back and help out a bit as would Rocchi if need be, switching places with Aguero. Though not listed as one of his positions, Rocchi is able to occasionally drift out to the right wing the same way Iaquinta can (and did when employed there a couple of times by Lippi in the World Cup).
- Di Natale or Di Michele? Di Natale, repeatedly. Di Michele is good but becomes too erratic in his performances.
- Brocchi and Ambrosini solid in the middle? Very much so. Brocchi is the cheap version of Gattuso but without the over-the-top intensity and better passing and shooting capabilities.
- Biggest area with room for improvement? I like the central defenders as I think they're an excellent partnership but not having a "big name" known by more of the people on the forum could lend you to trouble.
Yossi's questions:
- Is Foster my best keeper? I'm not so sure.
- Are my full backs good enough? If you're in D1 as someone said above then probably not.
- Would vBommel and Perrotta be my best midfield pairing? You're wasting Perrotta in such a defensive position. Van Bommel works fine but I think the three attacking midfielders need switching as Perrotta should be there.
- Are my wingers comfortable in their positions? See my final point in the last question.
- Can Podolski play as a lone striker? Would Ashton be better suited? I'd pick Ashton as Podolski has gone through a tough time in a partnership - and not because he needs to play by himself.

I owned fewer last term, but I decided to put my faith in them as I now have a team I actually think could break down any team in the division comfortably.

I'm familiar with every player in you're starting line-up to make a fairly informed opinion on, with the exeption of Gamberini. But you're not wrong, you're team's got a great balance to it. I do think you just try and steer clear of making you're team Italian-only though because, as said before, people tend to vote on players they are more familiar with because to be fair, you can't form a great opinion on players you haven't seen play - even with stats and compilations imo.
Yossi:
- Is Foster my best keeper? Probably.
- Are my full backs good enough? Not for Div.1, decent though.
- Would vBommel and Perrotta be my best midfield pairing? Albelda and Perrotta for me.
- Are my wingers comfortable in their positions? Yeah definately.
- Can Podolski play as a lone striker? Would Ashton be better suited? Mhhmm neither. I'd use the flat 4-4-2 as I said to you on MSN but as you said, you can adapt formations depending on opposition as you've got a versatile squad.
Original?:
- What do you think of the '4-5-1' system? Solid, great balance to it and every player is comfortable in their position. Good stuff.
- Di Natale or Di Michele? Not 100% sure, but Sweey says Di Natale, so yeah. :)
- Brocchi and Ambrosini solid in the middle? Definately. Not very creative but I suppose that's what the likes of Delly and Aguero are there for. Brocchi could be replaced but overall, solid.
- Biggest area with room for improvement? Centre-backs.
Yossi
- Is Foster my best keeper?
Yes.
- Are my full backs good enough?
No for D1 standards, which was said before.
- Would vBommel and Perrotta be my best midfield pairing?
Its OK vs Great, only because I think Perotta is best as a SMF
- Are my wingers comfortable in their positions?
I think so, but Perotta is pretty good out there.
- Can Podolski play as a lone striker? Would Ashton be better suited?
No to Podolski, Yes to Ashton. Only because of the lone striker formation.
O?
Refuse to help anyone else in D3 anymore. Just Know that your team is the Serie A.
Yossi
- Is Foster my best keeper?
I reckon Kameni is the better of the two.
- Are my full backs good enough?
There Okay, but not Div 1 Quality.
- Would vBommel and Perrotta be my best midfield pairing?
Yes.
- Are my wingers comfortable in their positions?
I've only seen Higuain play upfront. As for Anderson, he can apparently play as a winger so you will have no problems with him there.
- Can Podolski play as a lone striker? Would Ashton be better suited?
Podolski isn't the type of player who can play as a lone striker, he would struggle. Ashton would be better suited.
Original?
- What do you think of the '4-5-1' system?
Nice system with good balance.
- Di Natale or Di Michele?
As I said to you on MSN, I prefer Di Michele.
- Brocchi and Ambrosini solid in the middle?
I think this is a good midfield pairing. With Ambrosini making the occasional foward runs this will leave Brocchi to protect the defence.
- Biggest area with room for improvement?[/QUOTE]
Centre backs.

Gamberini is the first choice centre back alongside Dainelli and has actually played the better this season. I'll try and get some videos up for you, but it may be difficult with the defenders.
Thanks for the advice, and NYRB cheers... I'll remember that.

- Is Foster my best keeper?
I've seen little of Kameni so I can't tell for sure. I like Foster though, so yeah why not.
- Are my full backs good enough?
Trabelsi is underrated, but maybe not first XI quality in D1. Guardado is a mystery to me.
- Would vBommel and Perrotta be my best midfield pairing?
I'd go Albelda and vBommel as the rugged ball winners, giving either two attacking mids or two wide mids, the freedom to play their games. I particularly like Perrotta on the left like in the World Cup.
- Are my wingers comfortable in their positions?
Yes.
- Can Podolski play as a lone striker? Would Ashton be better suited?
Ashton would be better suited, but I wouldn't go with either on their own. The only problem with your formation at the moment is that there isn't really a goal scorer. Plenty of great creative players, but no fox in the box. You'll need to partner your forwards I believe.

- What do you think of the '4-5-1' system?
Looks really nice. Don't know all the players, but on face value it looks very nice.
- Di Natale or Di Michele?
Big fat ? I trust Mussolini, so Di Natale.
- Brocchi and Ambrosini solid in the middle?
Yep. Great engines and commitment. Del Piero should have a lot of freedom.
- Biggest area with room for improvement?
I don't know much about your centre backs, but that's my problem.

I think Martin Craine sounds better. :ninja:

As martin and Mat said Yossi, play Albelda with van bommel. I´d play Petrov on one with Anderson on the other. Higuain should be slotted behind the strikers.

Surely you'd rather have the questions now, at the start of the window with a chance to answer them, then during the season though.
Yeah, I wasn't being serious. But it is still confusing how:
- Higuain is more than comfortable on the right but can only play up front. He should also move infield.
- Perrotta should play central midfield with van Bommel, on the left, as an attacking midfielder, and with Albelda.
- Foster is better than Kameni, but Kameni is better.
- My full backs are good enough. But for D1, they aren't.
My squad is too versatile :(

My opinions are as good as facts. :ninja:

Poor you. :(
Kameni's better, Van Bommel with Perrotta, fullbacks look fine, Higuain behind the strikers. All of that in one sentence ;)
- What do you think of the '4-5-1' system? I like it.
- Di Natale or Di Michele? Di Natale
- Brocchi and Ambrosini solid in the middle? More than good enough.

Hope you are not confused Yossi.

:( Fuck it.
What do you think of the '4-5-1' system?
I think its the right formation with the players you have.
Di Natale or Di Michele?
Di Natale for sure.
Brocchi and Ambrosini solid in the middle?
Definitely going to work. Like muss. said Brocchi is the cheap version of Gattuso.
Biggest area with room for improvement?
I myself think your squad works. The CBs work well together and the midfield as well, but I never was sold on Cassetti though.(could only be me) Look to get known names for those who aren't familiar.
