1) Options at CB, what duo should I go for?
I would go for Metzelder and Dawson, Djourou being next in line.

2) Does the formation work in your eyes?
Formation should work fine, Muntari will be able to just sit in front of the defence and help out, Borowski is a good all-round player so should be fine in that position and Diego is excellent at supporting the attackers.

3) Alternative formations that spring to mind?
Could easily be 4-4-2 with Guily and David Silva on the wing, Muntari and Diego in the middle then Berbatov and Forlan up top.

4) Any general observations, good and bad?
Not to keen on Senderos to be honest, could do with Djourou partnering him as he has a bit of pace. Otherwise I would go for Metzelder and Dawson. I would also try and fit Forlan in as him and Berbatov would be a deadly partnership.

What do you think of Brown and Perea? Solid, could be improved upon as it is Div.1 but still capable. Good squad players atleast.
Would the midfield trio work? Yes, arguably a bit too attacking though, maybe Stankovic needs to swap with Ben Arfa and replace Arfa with a more defensive-minded player.
What do you think of Ben Arfa as Attacking Midfielder? Best position? Best position? yeah. Good enough to start in Div.1? Nah.
What do you think of Bent and Ruud as a partnership? Guarantee's goals. I like it.
Any players I should try and incorporate? Not really.

What do you think of Brown and Perea?
Both good, but not quite up to first XI standard in D1. Having one of them as a starter would be fine, but both is probably not great. Your Alves deal would sort that out.

Would the midfield trio work?
Scholes and Stankovic should be moved forward to central, rather than defensive, midfield. We all know that Scholes is literally the worst tackler in the history of the world, and where he is now I get the impression that he'll give away dangerous free kicks and get himself sent off. Basically, if you're going to use those four in midfield, play a simple diamond.

What do you think of Ben Arfa as Attacking Midfielder? Best position?
Really don't know much about him to be honest. I hear he has huge potential and can play LMF or AMF, so I guess he's in a good position.

What do you think of Bent and Ruud as a partnership?
You're guaranteed goals. Even in Charlton's abysmal season last time out, Bent still managed to do well. We all know that Ruud scores for fun. Not a bad duo at all.

Any players I should try and incorporate?
If Owen gets back some form then he will probably move ahead of Bent in my eyes. Don't be afraid to use Chiellini as he's a good player.

I'm not too familiar with him. I know he's meant to be good, but I would play Dyer. I know many don't like him, but on his day he can be a match winner.

Both good strikers, but they could get in each others way. Same even if you played Owen.

Dida to start, and I already mentioned Dyer.

I think that's your best possible defence.
2) Does the formation work in your eyes?
Yes. I like it a lot. Probably best suited for your team. Berbatov with Guily and Silva either side is a mouth watering prospect.
3) Alternative formations that spring to mind?
Maybe 4-4-2. Drop Muntari and have Forlan to play ahead of Berbatov. It would be like the fruitful Berbatov-Keane partnership. This might mean Hleb instead of Guily on the right.
4) Any general observations, good and bad, area(s) for improvement?
It's a shame to see Hleb on the bench. Maybe he should leave. :ninja: check PM

- Brown is good but Perea can be erratic.
- Yes. It's well balanced with solidity and creativity.
- Don't know much about him.
- As a combination they would work.
- Maybe Owen, he's better than Ben Arfa, but it's not possible to play him, Bent and van Nistelrooy.

- Yeah.
- You could play Diego from the right and Silva from the left, with Forlan replacing Giuly and partnering Berbatov.

I'd say the defence is easily the weakest part of Martin's team. His midfield and forwards flow into each other. It's like one huge midfield or one huge attack. He'll do really well next season.

Perea is very solid with a lot of pace and Brown can certainly do a good job as a full back. Personally, I don't think they are Div 1 material.

Djourou and Metzelder. Both players will complement each other fairly well too imo. Djourou is a very quick player, so he has a bigger chance against he pacey strikers. Senderos can be a bit error prone.

Partially. But I'd have a 442 formation instead, for a striker/attacking midfielder to support Berbatov. Berbatov + Forlan could be a good strike pairing.

You have a very strong squad. I think you have a team which is very much capable of challenging for promotion. I personally do not think you need to sign any more players. It seems like you can cover in all areas.
