Vicente Del Bosque looks to shuffle the deck during the transfer window this season.

Rumor has it that team captain, Xavi, is set to be out with the great Xabi Alonso coming in to replace him.

Paolo Maldini's situation has become an issue as well. The veteran has had few chances to impress this season with Pepe, Woodgate, and Carragher taking up most of the time. His agent says he's looking to finish his career on a high and if that means looking for another club he is willing to do so.

Youngsters Diaby and Zapater are also becoming frustrated with the lack of playing time and are hoping that the window could bring opportunities. Zapater was quoted as saying:
"I'm not looking to leave Lucentum permanently, just to get some playing time and experience somewhere, but if I stay I hope the coach will trust in me more."

The Beast Eager And Ready To Impress

Baptista is prepared to make an impression on the Lucentum fan base and Del Bosque this season.

"I want to show them that I'm ready to win with them," Julio said today after being presented, "The season is long so I hope to get some chances to show what I am made of."

Vicente del Bosque recently asked for the services of Ruben de la Red, the Spanish phenomenon, which could limit his chances. Julio is already with competing with Spanish international Xabi Alonso, Mali captain Appiah, hard nosed Sissoko, passing whiz Zapater, and Brasilian magician Alex. The addition of Ruben would put the possibilities over the top for Vicente del Bosque. "The more the merrier," Vicente said during the press conference, "They are all important and very talented."

Mark Gonzalez's situation in the club has come into speculation though. After Fabio Grosso signed on for another season at least, his place in the team became unsure.

Ronaldinho set to move on this summer.

Lucentum is looking to shuffle the deck a bit more and Ronaldinho's departure will be one of the keys to doing so. Two transfers have already been completed to bolster the midfield and defense.
