Birmingham first at home not bad. Would have preferred Boro, but Birmingham will be fine.

West Ham away. Lets hope we have a manager, some decent players brought in and cash to spend by then. So far we dont have any.

The Pompey run in makes me happy. As does the opener. The second game of the season, not so much.

I hope we get a continental manager. Non of the British managers we've been linked with fill me with any confidence. Adriaanse or Koeman would be top, and if we get Ramos, I'll wet my pants with delight, but I cant see us getting him.

Reading at home, a team who seem to play rather well against us. Then Pompey away, then City away. Nice and easy :shocking:

Tbh, I'm glad it's Manure, and not any of the other top four. I still can't see us getting points though, you're going to want to go all out for the win from the start. Other times when we've played you it's been at the back end of the season, tiredness starting to creep in etc.

We've got a nice first 9 games, until we play Liverpool. I can see us top of the league for the first couple of months.

Man Utd and then Chelsea. Great, we need some easy ones to warm up with!

Definitely Maybe
14-06-2007, 12:20
Scarily, I predicted Spurs at home, Man City away on boxing day, and Arsenal at home on the last day

We play Spurs at home, Man United at home on boxing day, and Arsenal at home on the last day

We usually play Leeds at home on boxing day. This year they play Hartlepool away

I don't know why I was looking forward to this as much I was

Our start is very tough. By the end of September I'd be content with 12 points from our eight games.

It signals the start of a beautiful new season. I hate the time between the end of the season and the start of a new one. I facking love my Argyle and the friendlies may well be fun proper competition is where it's at. The release of the fixtures allows you to plan for the new season and also is the first sign of the new season so this is why you were looking forward to it. I waited for this with a stonk on for weeks. Now we have Blackpool on a weekender that makes me happy.

Yeah I was really looking forward to them but when I opened the page and looked at them I suddenly wondered why. You know you're going to play every team twice :erm:

Yeah I was really looking forward to them but when I opened the page and looked at them I suddenly wondered why. You know you're going to play every team twice :erm:

Of course you do but knowing when gets me flowing. Think about it, you went straight to see when you had the Scum. Am I right? Then you checked out the vital four: First, last, Boxing and New Years. You also look to see when you have to travel to the longies such as Hull and Plymouth. You check out the Tuesday Winter evenings and see what the evil pickers have given you. You also look for ex Prem teams to see when you first get to pit your skills against them. Then you think about the possibilities of Televised games.

We all know we have every team twice but when and we get them is an absolute joy to find out.
