Banning a game is always a wank idea. Most will just import the cunt. The first game was a laugh in places but pretty boring once you got into it. I only pray that The Warriors gets a sequel.

What a lot of shit banning a fucking video game... this pisses me off, its because too many wankers kill their grandma or something and have the cheeck to blame a fucking game that they shouldn't have anyway because they're 14 and the game is rated a fucking 18!!!

If I had a 12-16 year old kid I wouldn't really want him choking people out from behind with plastic bags either, that's if I'm to be totally honest.

@Gunrunner: Did you ever question why a kids toy store can sell adult products in the first place?

The game looked gash anyway.

Deffo a gore over content game, it's one thing putting gore in a game for detail, another to put it in for the "thrill" factor.

Expect to see more games like this banned with the PC brigade and nanny state we live in.

How gay, dont see the point in banning games tbh

This is quite clearly the worst decision in the history of the universe.

If they ban GTA, I can't be responsible for my actions.

They would never ban a game like GTA. Public outcry would lead to riots and possibly to parliament being stormed, government collapsing and Marshal Law declared with Britain being thrown back into the stoneage or even worse, living like the Welsh

:D

Too fucking right.

Apparently Manhunt is illegal to sell, but not illegal to own. I'm mates with the bloke who owns Chips down here, so maybe if I slip him a fiver...

What kids stores are you referring to? Because I was speaking of a shop like Game or Gamestation where the parents would go in and buy their kid a Rated 18 game even though the little cunt is 14 or whatever.

No need for Play-Asia surely, I'm sure it will come out in Continental Europe and I'll just get it from there.

Play-Asia is generally a lot cheaper though I think, most games I see on there are about £29.99-£35 which is pretty good.

In the wake of international bans and an Adults Only rating in the US, Manhunt 2 won't make its July 10 release date, Take-Two Interactive has confirmed. The game had been expected to ship that day for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, and Nintendo Wii.

"Take-Two Interactive Software has temporarily suspended plans to distribute Manhunt 2 for the Wii or PlayStation platforms while it reviews its options with regard to the recent decisions made by the British Board of Film Classification and Entertainment Software Rating Board," a representative told GameSpot. "We continue to stand behind this extraordinary game. We believe in freedom of creative expression, as well as responsible marketing, both of which are essential to our business of making great entertainment."

While the ESRB's initial rating of an AO for Adults Only doesn't explicitly prohibit the game from being sold, most major US retailers refuse to carry AO games, and console manufacturers prohibit their third-party publishers from releasing AO titles on their systems.

I think they'll probably reduce the gore level and resubmit for entry. I think thats the only thing they can do to sell the game in the UK.

I used to work in Game and the number of parents that would buy games like GTA for their children despite staff actually warning them is ludicrous, this was for children as young as seven.

I hear it has something to do with a plot (conspiracy, you might say) conceived at the Bohemian Grove by a band of rabid proctologists.

It is pathetic banning a game in this day and age. I cannot quite comprehend why they would ban this but allow films such as Hostel 2 which contains a number of graphic scenes. ;) Surely a film is more realistic and is deemed more life like than a computer game hence I am dumbfounded about the decision. If it is purely to do with the possibility of young children playing it then that is pathetic as the parents should have enough sense and understand they should not buy it for them.

It is definitely the parents. I know some owners probably do sell games to under aged kids but where I live I have never been able to buy a game that is higher than my age limit. I couldn't even by a 15 rated game on my 16th birthday but the parents buy them then blame the developers/publishers for what the game has done to the kid, if anything.

Sometimes games are probably not even the source of the problem but when you hear that the kid involved in an accident happen to have a game like Manhunt or Grand Theft Auto, then the companies are immediately blamed. What a fucked up world we live in.

I haven't actually seen it confirmed that Holland will get the un-cut version. I know the un-cut version is allowed in Holland but I think it is still to be determined if they will release the un-cut version just for Holland. If it does get released un-cut in Holland then that's a bit of a bonus.

I see what you mean and I agree that there probably are parents out there who buy 15 and 18 rated games for their under-aged children.

But you also have to remember that the people who work in stores like GAME are often told by their managers that making the sale is all that matters.

It's a double-edged sword, if you ask me. Both parties are at fault but you can't blame the game developers because they're simply trying to make a living which is completely understandable.

In the end, it comes down to society's sterotypes on Computer Games and what people expect from them. I doubt that the average UK Adult considers Computer Games as a form of Arts & Media like Movies are considered. And there lies the problem.

If Computer Games were considered by the UK Adult public as a form of Arts & Media, then we would never see this "Computer Games are a bad influence on kids" debate.

From when I worked there, that's bollocks. If anyone actually was told that, then the manager would be in severe trouble and would likely be fired for gross misconduct. The penalties for serving age-restricted games to those under said age-restriction is harsher to both the individual and the company than it is to those who mis-sell alcohol.

It may have been like that at your store.

A friend of mine used to work in Gamestation about 2 years ago and he told me that his manager always used to tell him that he doesn't care who he sells the games to, just as long as they pay the money.

Believe it or not, it does happen.

Or maybe that is just the store he worked in. Maybe that manager didn't really care that much about games and sucked at his job.

To think my missus wants this for her Wii! Suppose will have to get it before it gets pulled from the shelves, because I can see that happening.

Having watched the video I can only ask: why would anybody want to play that game? I'm not saying it should be banned, but it is unnecessarily brutal.

Couldn't ever enjoy a game like that.
