I have some questions Id like to ask:
How do I properly do a bicycle? Example I know its with R2 x 2 but how do I use it to effectivly get away from defenders?
If you have the ball and you press R2, you stop, step on the ball to stop it and if you press R2 x 2 he fakes going to the left. Is there any way how to fake towards the right and again how do I use this effectivly?
R1 and Running; How do you run faster holding it down or tapping it continually, repeating or when the ball is at the players feet?
Sometime I play against a friend and pressing a button he sort of dribbles the ball further way from his player. Sort of like a selfpass. How do I do that?
Free kicks; When I take a free kick I want to know how to control the cruve. What is the difference between holding (or/and pressing) up and down? Is there a difference between holding the direction and just pressing the direction? Also, my friend usually gets 2 players at a free kick. He presses a button and one player touches it and the other kicks is real hard and real straight. How do I do that?
Moving the right analog stick up then down makes the player kick the ball in the air and a little bit in front of him. What is this for?
Doing a complete 360 rotation of the right analog stick, does a roulette. The problem is sometimes the player does it and other times the ball is left behind or goes in another direction. Any way to properly control this?
Headers; Are heards also controlled with the amount that you hold the shoot button and the direction that you press your direction pad/analog stick in?
Any other little tricks that are doable in the game? Such as kicking the ball over a players head in a selfpass or something?

For now those are all my questions. Sorry for being a n00b.

thats for flicking it over a sliding tackle.
the only way to properly control a 360 turn is if the player is good enough.

press R2 and the direction you want to hit the ball.

Dont know about any of this

R1 and Running; How do you run faster holding it down or tapping it continually, repeating or when the ball is at the players feet?

I can help with this. When you are running with the ball the player is limited by his dribble speed - which is often slower than his normal speed. What you need to do is hold R1 whilst running with the ball and when you are about to change direction tap R2 whilst still holding R1. This will kick the ball further ahead and your player will speed up.

I find this helps when tussling with another player chasing the ball, if you are faster your player will pull away.

Free kicks; When I take a free kick I want to know how to control the cruve. What is the difference between holding (or/and pressing) up and down? This is the lay off free kick. You do this by holding L1 and R1 when you have normal free kick.

Moving the right analog stick up then down makes the player kick the ball in the air and a little bit in front of him. What is this for?

You can use this for flicking it over slide tackles but it is best used for tee'ing yourself up for a shot. If you can time it so you hit the ball at half power as it is coming down you will see a cracker of a shot. Also it makes it easier to score from the sides of the box

Doing a complete 360 rotation of the right analog stick, does a roulette. The problem is sometimes the player does it and other times the ball is left behind or goes in another direction. Any way to properly control this?

need to use players with good technique (80+)

Headers; Are heards also controlled with the amount that you hold the shoot button and the direction that you press your direction pad/analog stick in?

Dont use the stick - use the d-pad you will get better results. I havent quite mastered header yet but I reckon you need to aim the delivery correctly and this makes a world of difference.

Any other little tricks that are doable in the game? Such as kicking the ball over a players head in a selfpass or something?

If you stand still and flick the right stick down and then up the player will flick the ball high enough to go over a player head (unless the player is exceedingly tall). You can then run around the player and collect it

For now those are all my questions. Sorry for being a n00b.

I hope all that helped

I play the PC version of PES 2008 and use the keyboard. I would like to know what does the "right analog stick" translate to on the keyboard, and i know it ain't the d-pad (aka arrows) and how do i use it. Also, how to change the side from which the player shoots when taking freekicks (I know how to change the side of the second player though, but it's the firts player I don't know how)
