Hi

I've been thinking of getting the new Total club manager game fore Xbox or Ps2 because its kinda hard to get time to play it on my PC and i was just wondering if any one has the game for either of the consoles and if so what does it feel like on a console and is the game actually any good?

Cheers :)

hey giggs11...
I bought the game yesterday,...well i like it.
In the beginnig was confusing, but i got used to it...
I like Cm4 a lot, but there isn't cm4 for ps2 or xbox, only pc.
The only thing i didn't like was the player search, they don't give players playing on PORTUGAL, but you are english, and you have many players to buy on England and other places. I started with the option, 3 clubs offering my traning, i choose Oxford.
It's good, when i get the hang it....
Ant question tomorow, because i didn't got to play very much, today i will :D

How do u control the game?
Do u use the controller to move a mouse pointer?

And what is the match like? Is the AI really intelligent?

And who does the commentary?

Thanks:D

No mouse pointer on PS2/TCM4....L1, L2, R1, R2, /\, O, X.
L1 BUTTON: opens the club...Tactics, lineup, other's...
L2 BUTTON: opens the club managing like, Advertises for the club, assitant manager, other things
R1 BUTTON: Player search
R2: League stats, player details, other things

Well i played FIFA2003, didin't play FIFA2004, and the graphics are alright, but you have FIFA2004, right? Well play FOOTBALL FUSION, for better graphics. AI of the game is good.
The commentary, sorry don't know you is,but sorry PES fans like me, but is better than PES3.

Well sorry about don't remember other things in the option's(L1, L2, R1, R2)....
FOR more things of the game, www.totalclubmanager.com , bur i think that you already know this, but just in case.
Tomorow i will give you more details

have any ea sports games ever had intelligent AI?? put a game of fifa on cpu v cpu and they play like twats lol. unlike on pes u get a really watchable game.

the commentary is done by motty and from the previous console versions i would expect u move the mouse to select the next option.

i have the pc version and i like it :D

got it today on the xbox its a quality game and easy to getused to and even if you get bored of the game there is a football triva game which is nice.

The football fusion idea is brilliant being able to play the important fixturessuch as Rushden and Diamonds Vs Colchester United!

i agree i think the 3D matches are so shit but the game itself is good.

I also agree, but the game makes you believe that when u watch the match it will be as good as watching a FIFA 2004 match but it's just a bugged fifa 2003 game..funny though..i bought tcm 2004, didn't like it and i took it back and got XIII.

I got a funny story about that actually...I bought tcm2004 from WHSmith for £40 and i didn't like it, so i took it back to get a refund..the girl gave me £50 back!!! So i went to woolworths to get XIII and the guy charged me £30 instead of £40!!! So i was £20 up, so i bought an x-port. :)

Marshy

in WHsmith you can get 2 xbox games for £60 i got xiii and maxpayne 2 and Fifa 2004 and True Crimes but i got rid of true crimes for tcm2004 because it is shit.

I agree True Crimes is shite, i just got a new pes3 today cos my old one tends to crash every now and again, cos i miss-treated it

LOL! :D:D:D:D

i had a quick go on TCM 2k4 on Sunday morning (only 4 matches but enough to get a feel of it)

i was Man U, beat Arsenal 5-3 on pens in charity shield.

then in first 3 league games (i forget the opponents) i won

5-1 (V.Nistelrooy 3, Ronaldinho 2)
7-1 (V.Nistelrooy 5, Kleberson 1, Ronaldinho 1)
6-0 (V.Nistelrooy 5, Ronaldiho 1)

so i thought i'd come on and ask........

HOW EASY????????????????

or have i got the mother of all bad patches coming to me later on in the season?

as for Footy Fusion, it does work on PS2 (didn't try it though) but you can only export 1 match, play it and put it back, how much hassle is that????

Yeah, but how does it compare to CM 03/04?............. which I'm playing like a total addict at the moment.

cm03/04 is a better managment game for people who are dedicated to playing the game. tcm2004 is for the beginner of footy manager games. Whats better, tcm2004 or the coming LMA 2004?

Marshy
31-01-2004, 22:22
the best management game is Football Manager 2001 i know its old but its still very good and addictive, always thought that championship managers were to boring!!

asher b

championship manager = for serious stat-loving football fans
tcm = for fun football fans who like to build their stadiums and choose how much the hot dogs cost

both great in my opinion :)

For anyone who has TCM2004:

You HAVE to download the MegaPatch off FMCorner.com

It's simply magical!!

Don't buy it, stats are terrible. Every player is overrated.

Basic knowledge is wrong, i.e, there is a special ability called wonderkid, where you must be Brazilian, have 1+speed and something else, Cristiano Ronaldo has the wonderkid skill eventhough he's not Brazilian.

Also, for some reason, the transfer window is open from the start of the season to the end of January.

There are barely any options for changing your team formation.

The game takes ages to load and save.

LMA 2004 definately. It's the only game which comes close CM IMO.

I don't think players are overrated. And the patch improves/decreases the stats of any underrated/overrated player.

C. Ronaldo probably has the "Wonderkid" ability because he has dual nationality - Portuguese/Brazilian.

The transfer window is open at the correct times in my game and it takes about 20 secs to load and save.

And there are no more possible formations I can think of that you can't implement in the game.

Are you playing on PC or PS2?

i rented it from blockbusters & i thought it was pretty dire. the only thing i liked was building up all the club facilities & editing the stadium. LMA is the only management game out there which could possibly challenge CM. if CM had a stadium editor in it, i would love it! even more! :D

used to love it but the unrealistic scorelines and lack of decent stats and realistic values made me get bored of it.

novelty wears off but quality doesnt :D

mind you the stadium editor still kicks arse

Have you donloaded the patch?

It makes a HUGE difference.
Much more players and more accurate stats.

My brother's got the PS2 version and I can't stand it. Stupid transfers fess...and what's the deal with the transfer negotiation? It reminds me of a very old game (possibly Theme Park) where to hands would be at either side of the screen and you had to get them to match to do a deal...

LMA manager is still kinda poor but much better than TCM. If you have a PC though then get CM03/04...or if that's too much for your PC to take then get CM01/02 and download the patch that lets you start at the 03/04 season.

This topic has got my memory jogging. Does anyone remember Ultimate Soccer Manager on the Amiga? I loved that so much, it even had a 2D pitch which has taken Championship Manager nearly 10 years to implement. Come to think of the Amiga was great - SWOS, Cannon Fodder, Beneath A Steal Sky, Zac...ahhh those were the days.
